The Pie Issue

Day 1,096, 19:40 Published in USA USA by Heather Fuchs

In honor of 3 years of eRepublik (or of the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday in the United States, if you prefer), the eUS Mobile Infantry would like to present the first in a continuing series of tributes to its favorite dessert: PIE!

First up, the classics.

Pumpkin Pie

Nothing says “autumn” like pumpkins, and nothing says “Thanksgiving” like pumpkin pie. A delicious blend of nutmeg and cloves with everyone’s favorite carvable squash fruit, this pie is a staple of the Thanksgiving table.

Apple Pie

It’s as American as… well, itself. Also found primarily in the fall, often served a la mode, it’ll make you eat it until your pants need to be loosened.

And now a couple of Thanksgiving favorites:

Pecan Pie

This one should really be called “Crapload of Sugar with a Few Nuts” pie (which adequately describes MI IRC chat tbh). One bite of this pie and you’ll be bouncing off the walls. Or swollen up like a balloon and barely able to breathe, if you happen to be allergic to pecans.

Mincemeat Pie

I’ve never actually seen a mince, but the damned things must live inside apples because this one tastes like citron and apples overloaded with more spices than you could reasonably be expected to stomach. This one is more of a meal pie than a dessert pie.

And one more in honor of our CJCS:

Banana Cream Pie

It’s got bananas! It’s got cream! It’s got crust! What more could you want? Rumor has it that jankems would kill his mother for a slice of this stuff, but that’s just rumor. Unsubstantiated rumor. No one has pictures of this or anything. Ever. Really.

That’s all for this week. From the MI family to yours, Happy Thanksgiving, or if you prefer, Happy 3rd Birthday eRepublik!

If you’re stronger than a complete newbie (updated requirements are forthcoming) and you like pie as much as we do, you too could be a member of the Mobile Infantry!!!

If not, then get your military career started in the Training Corps!
