The Path Ahead

Day 1,553, 18:50 Published in Egypt Egypt by Wizard of Az

It is a rare day indeed Egypt when I admit defeat, but after nearly two months of continous work I am forced to do just that.

Today was the final day, the deadline set by our extremely patient President Varlosh, for a peace deal with eGreece. It was the end of a nearly two month period and attempt at peace that I failed. Let it not be said that this failure was due to lack of trying, as any of the Heads of States that have been unfortunate enough to block my path or have any relation to this deal will tell you I did not let up in my pursuit for peace.

Nor do not let it be said that there were not those who offered there help, or at least advice, in countries during our pursuit of peace. Let it not be said that this peace was lost because of the stiffness of Egypt either. Anyone intimately involved with the peace process knows the extraordinate lengths, and the craft manuevers, Egypt was prepared to initalize for the sake of peace. But the time has come to give up on our pursuit, that foolish dream of mine. I was wrong to believe there could exist an Egypt neither Pro-ONE or Pro-EDEN surrounded by neighbors affiliated with either alliance and in need of our resources. If by some miracle Greece comes in the next two days and offeres peace I hope our CP will accept, but it has been two long months of sketchy explanations and dead end negotiations.

So where does the path therin lay for Egypt?
Egypt cannot, in my opinion, remain a neutral power. The Greeks have made it very clear that we are Pro-EDEN or we are occupied. However, much to their disdain I am sure, I cannot accept this man handling of our relations by an outside power. What Egypt needs most of all, out of all of its options, is to become independent.

Now of course I just said we cannot remain a neutral power, but if we are not neutral how can be be Independent as well? Right now, despite our attempts at neutrality, Egypt is not an independent country. We are the unfortunate vassels of either Greece or ONE, having to pledge allegiances to either merely to have original regions. If Greece has so choosen, with nudging from others in EDEN HQ, to dominate the young prince that is Egypt than we can never sign onto EDEN or EDEN allies. As Greece has many powerful allies, and many willing to move great distances to fight in RW's, Egypt will need its own stack of allies. Countries like Serbia, Poland, and Macedonia.

However, this relationship cannot be onesided. If we depend on Serbia and friends to bail us out everytime they will quickly tire of us. In the past we have provided strategic striking points as a measure of usefulness to these countries, however now as EDEN has turned the scales ONE cannot simply throw support to a nonmember country while there core members (hi Iran o/) remain occupied. So Egypt must:

1. Organize Its Military
This initiative, started under Akhraziel and advised by myself, will give Egypt a coordinated and well supplied strike force in Katabeet. To be successful though we need an active commander (originally myself but peace negotiations take a lot of time) and at least fourty members for the commune system

2. Grow its population
This is why Prime Minister Akhraziel's BB initiative is so important to Egypt. Even the best organized military can be outgunned if they don't have enough personnel

3. Strike Fast, but infrequently
Egypt needs to stop supporting RW's we cannot win, I suggest one RW every week or so in an area not vital to Greek resources, thus less of a reason to reoccupy.

This is not a naive threat, Egypt (especially over the last two months) is very aware of the balance of the world. While our friends are not as strong as before we will make it up in our own manpower. This will not be an easy task, though nothing is harding than negotiating with Greeks apparently, but I know Egypt is prepared to do this. We can kick a group of second rate croat PTOers out of our politics, we can certainly kick a few Greek soldiers out if we bide our time and fight appropriately.
