The NI Problem
Kiemar
It's good to be writing again after so long. Ireland's recent activity abroad and the reunification of our isle has made me more than a one clicker once again!
I write to you now because, as far as game mechanics go, we are in possession of another country's territory. As much as I believe we deserve NI, eventually the UK will come back to reclaim it through constant resistance wars. This may come soon, this may come later, but I assure you it will come in one way or another. In the midst of all the allegations and scandal that seem to be a monthly if not weekly occurance in Ireland, I cannot stress enough how important it is we look to a strategy to maintain possession of NI.
I'll just come out and say that I want to see NI remain Irish for as long as possible, despite the legality of the action to possess it. This means we need to make it as hard as possible for a resistance war to succeed. My proposals on how to do this follows:
1. Transplant Irish citizens to NI Pay for moving tickets for those who volunteer to inhabit NI. More citizens means a more costly RW.
2. Place a Defense System in North Ireland of the most efficient quality Speaks for itself, it will give us a bigger wall to repel insurrection. I include the word efficient because I feel it is more important to spend gold on...
3. Q5 Hospital in NI I know we only need one Q5 hospital to fight a war, but the real reason is to boost population as has been talked about on the forums. More people living in NI for the hospital add to the cost to start a resistance war.
I'd also like to include that for a long term solution, I endorse Brian Boru's proposed Project Lamba to give Ireland the order and strength to be able to defend ALL our regions.
I urge Congressmen and Congresswomen to act now. The clock is ticking and the longer we wait, the harder it will be to maintain our great, unified nation.

Wow, long time no see Kiemar. Nice to see the old ISD crew coming back. * looks for Aran Tal and Starks *
I agree with the hospital and transplanting part. However, Im not a big fan of BB's communies or defense systems. Perhaps we can meet in the middle

It seems we are on the same page. I echoed the same arguments in my own article, posted after yours(I was not aware of this).
Great minds, eh? 🙂
There are some of us that agree with you on most points presented. We are +1 on the territorial gain score board, we need to maintain it. Put all in or nothing 😉
Cost of the resistance war isnt really an issue, the UK makes enough GOLD to easily cover it, defence systems are tbh, useless, and do little more than to waste money.
As for a Q5 hospital, wtf? would be cheaper to pay to move everyone back to a place with a Q5 hospital, and move them back again, its really not viable cost wise.
Finally, if you think for a second that Ireland stands a chance in hell of retaining NI, then your all mad, the UK has far far far more tanks than Ireland, of which almost every tank will out damage all of the Irish tanks.
But hey, good luck.
Holding NI will have to come through political measures. Straight up military we will lose. Aide from those that oppose the UK is another route...but we aren't at that point.
What right have you to any opinion here? Your nothing but a desserter, you fled when ireland needed you most. Be gone you coward, you fool.
Welcome back Kiemer
We could you this as fuel for a babyboom if not I think Snake is correct in saying we don't have the Military force to keep NI just yet and I think it would be best to surrender the region too better our now damaged relations with the eUK.
@Bryan: A bit harsh man
Perhaps Pip, But in my view its not harsh enough. At least Starks had the decency to apologise.
