The New Income Tax
Keegan Knoll
Of course, I'm sure I'll be nowhere near the first or last to cover this, but upon logging on to eRepublik today, I realized that income taxes had been raised to 30%. Of course, I'd seen people writing about this possibility, but to see it actually come to be is more than just ridiculous. I was hoping to slowly integrate myself into the political portion of this game over the next couple of months, and hopefully run for congress in the near future, or at least by December or so. Where in the world, other than the eUS, can you find a non-PTOed country, with taxes that can rival this? It's quite frustrating, truly, and it's all but killed my ePatriotism for my home country. For the moment, I reside hesitantly in eKansas. But I'm getting closer and closer to giving up and buying the next moving ticket to a more fair country, and relaxing with some actual profit from my work.

It is part of getting ready for the war.
Think of it as a involuntary war bond drive.

it's the continuation of the Robert S Miller political extortion practices
Its for the war that everyone is so worked up over... Even though its most likely a rouse and is never going to happen.
