Continued from THE LEGACY (PART3)

I’m not in the mood to comment anything about the eRepublik.
However, it’s been long since I published my last tabloid.
Today I’m bringing the episode of Tun Teja plus Megat Panji Alam.

If you ask a person from Terengganu, he’d probably say Hang Tuah was a coward; and Megat Panji Alam was a mightier warrior. Hang Tuah killed him from behind cowardly!
I’m from Terengganu, yet this is my version:

PROLOGUE
In his early days, Hang Tuah travelled to the East Coast to begin his warriorship training. One of his collegue and best friend was Megat Panji Alam; The royal prince heir to the throne of Terengganu.
It is said that Megat Panji Alam excel in fighting and always defeated Hang Tuah during their trainings. Megat Panji Alam also renowned for his piousness in religion.
During time also Hang Tuah met Tun Teja, the daughter of the Pahang’s Bendahara… Tun Teja was widely known for her beauty. Probably there were early puppy love affair since then. But the way those times it’s very secretive and polite.

THE REASON
After years passed, all of them had grown up to their maturity, each to their celebrated profiles. Politically sound, Tun Teja was tied to Megat Panji Alam. The marriage was proposed to be done in a few months. The news reached Hang Tuah.
He rowed upstream the Malaccan River, to a crossing point, dragging the boat about 100m then he was in The Pahang River. Hang Tuah went to see his long time lover.
To others, it was a common travel done by anybody visiting places. Nobody knew Hang Tuah’s intention. Reaching Pahang, Hang Tuah was accepted as an honoured guest by the Bendahara.

Hang Tuah had somebody to arrange his meeting with Tun Teja. Not something that was really planned, Hang Tuah found out that Tun Teja was still in deep love with him. Tun Teja urged Hang Tuah to take her away. Tun Teja do not want to wait long as Megat Panji Alam and his people were on their way to Pahang.
Yeah, any hero will lose to the tears of a beautiful woman.
So off they ran.

The news of Hang Tuah kidnapped Tun Teja broke off. Megat Panji Alam and his men diverted their way to intercept Hang Tuah. Yes, they met!
But Megat Panji Alam being a very pious and patient gentleman, he did not avenge for what his friend was doing. Instead he bless their decision on one condition. That Hang Tuah will never ever step again on the Terengganu soil.
That’s reasonable, as what would people say to Megat if they ever met but Megat do nothing to the treacherous Hang Tuah. Megat was a noble prince with reputation to keep up. So, sportingly Hang Tuah shouldn’t smear his face.

THE SULTAN’S PLOT
Hang Tuah and Tun Teja reached Malacca safely.
Then the news reached the Sultan in no time. The Sultan heard about the famous Tun Teja and wanted to marry her. Being loyal, Hang Tuah cannot do anything about this.
Heart broken, Tun Teja had to marry the Sultan.

Not long after that the Sultan arranged a grand function. He invited many honoured royals from nearby states, including the Sultan of Terengganu. That time Terengganu just had a new reigned Sultan. It was Megat Panji Alam.

There was a political situation we can study here. At that moment Malacca was one of the biggest city on the entire planet (*I got the fact from Discovery Channel). It was famous as a trade centre of the region. Then, something changed the trend a bit. Some Arabian traders heard about the goodness of new Sultan of Terengganu; and they found the way to travel east by the route that Hang Tuah took before, thus they found Terengganu was an alternative place to trade with the Chinese.
This new trend will not favour Malacca in the long run.

Many foreign royals came to the invitation, including Megat Panji Alam.
Here comes the plot.
Hang Tuah as the head of commando were given an instruction. He had to assassin an enemy of the state. He was instructed to hide behind a door of the guest room, and when the first man enter that room, he had to kill that anonymous guy.

Hang Tuah jumped out, stabbed the man at the back.
When the man turned painfully, only then Hang Tuah recognized the guy was Megat Panji Alam. Hang Tuah cried for feeling guilty, yet Megat Panji Alam comforted him and grateful honoured that the guy who was ordered to kill him was Hang Tuah. Megat Panji Alam died on Hang Tuah’s lap.
(There was a rare museum record I found stating there's a Sultan named Megat Panji Alam reigned only for two weeks).

It was said to be personal score between Hang Tuah and Megat Panji Alam.
What was the benefit for the Sultan?

1- The threat of rumours that potential rival Terengganu had a superb ruler was eliminated.
2- Tun Teja will not think about Megat Panji Alam anymore.
3- And Tun Teja also will hate Hang Tuah forever for his shameful coward action.
That’s killing three birds with a stone.

What a blow for Hang Tuah. A sadist story wasn’t it?
