sattva purusayoh suddhi samye kaivalyam iti. – Yoga Sutra , Vibhuti Pada 56
Equality between Sattwa(light of mind) and Purusha (Soul – Consciousness) brings liberation

Yesterday I noticed an article about the Soul, I would say, because Conscience is such a modern term, invented by psychologist.
See, I believe that when a man could not comprehend something began to dissected it, to make it part (if I recall well Ghoete gave us such a prescription) trying to understand the parts of it. Sadly, in this process (so modern and scholastic) the whole will be destroyed, and he’s life too.
The final question of the article was: Did the Conscience need a body in order to exist (or not) ?

For ancients Conscience was of the Soul, not of the mind or the body and, the gateway to it where the eyes. We find this conception to all 3 ancient Greek philosophers (Socrate, Plato, Aristotle).

For ancient Indians this was the main problem of life, the fact that humans tend to consider They are conscientious (meaning the mind of them, because is so intelligent, developed the self conscience) and Ignoring the fact that the true conscience is only of the Soul (Purusha) and all the facts and experience we do here, have the sole purpose to became known by Purusha.

So, starting from this, ancient believed that a Soul (of a person) is part (could not be differentiated) by the Soul of the world (and that for, the whole world was seen as a great village). This meant (in the Vedas) that this Soul of the world include all living creatures (and this gave us a new sense of the “non killing” commandment – ahimsa).

In ancient Europe, it was very common the myth of the Androgens claiming that at the beginning of all times humans where no man nor woman, but both of them, in the same body and, after the God’s split them in two parts (so appearing the genders), they continuously seek each other, to reunite.
Especially in eastern Europe (after all Thrace, from north and south Danube, was the greatest creator of myths and legends for Greek civilization), where people are very passionate, this myth is very strong even now (in the form of the soul mate).

Forward, for Plato, for example, a good man is the one that could command to himself (and a bad man one that could not do that), meaning that he will always aim to use pain and pleasure to bring more and more light / experience to the Soul (also giving up to the fruits of those deeds). Somehow, I believe, Plato was the forth father of the Socialism (because for him humans must put everything together, not only the possessions but the souls too – in order to develop the virtues of the state / community).

What you think about this ? I’m sure we all have different opinions.
The best article on this will be awarded with a 5 gold prize.

That for the Soul is so colored, because include us all.

All this is nothing but a chat from the door of eAshram and will not really help you, unless you began to act ... or cease acting.
