The Joy of Giving

Day 1,231, 09:03 Published in USA USA by Ace451

Greetings loyal subscribers,

So yesterday, I held my first ever free giveaway of Q5 weapons and guess what? It went great. My article managed to get 56 votes and 5 subs despite me not asking anyone to do either, for that I'm grateful, and thank you to those who voted, subbed, or commented, or some combination of those three. I also received 83.59 USD in reimbursement, to those that did so, thank you kindly. But more importantly than that, I would like to say thank you to those of you who commented on my article looking to get a Q5 Weapon. Thanks to you guys, we were able to deal out tens, if not hundreds, of thousands of damage against Spain and her allies and win the second battle quite handily.

And while I was doing all of the donating, sending PM's to those who asked questions, reading comments, clicking profile links, I noticed something. I genuinely liked what I was doing. Yes, I lost hundreds of USD handing out free Q5's that I had planned to sell later on, but despite that, I still felt cheerful. I felt some of the best energy I've felt before when playing this game. I enjoyed being able to give weapons to old players who had used them before and new players that never thought they would never touch one without going broke. It was this feeling that I came to a realization. There is joy to be found in giving. It seems so simple, but for many, including myself until yesterday, this realization never hits. In RL, I have given things and felt good for having given something and essentially, what I noticed, was that I only gave those things so I could feel good about myself. I never felt any joy seeing someone feel genuine delight at having something they usually don't or have never had. I felt that yesterday. And yes, you can all say, "But this is just a game, what is there to feel good about?" To that, I have a simple response. Yes, this is a game, but games are created to be enjoyable, and if I made this gaming experience more enjoyable for even one person, then I am happy. I plan to take this feeling and extend it to RL. I ask all of you that read this article to take time out of your day and go and do something for someone else, even if it's a very small thing, it is worth it.

With that said, seeing as Spain and her compadres seem to be making a comeback in Galicia, I will be holding another Q5 giveaway at some point today, so keep your eyes peeled on the Latest News in America. I have some stuff to do first, so I'm figuring it will be later tonight. Stay tuned.

We still got it, amigos.

Stay free, America,
