The Issue with the Voters Club

Day 1,673, 17:20 Published in USA Canada by 5440

As I'm sure most of you are aware, the eUSA is becoming increasingly interested in the eRepublik Voters Club. The club sells votes and subscriptions, as well as giving a second job for those willing
to give votes and subs. Unfortunately, the club is also run by ePolish citizens, as well as employing many citizens of ONE countries. More than 2/3 of their "Hall of Fame" are from ONE countries,
ONE supporting countries, or are ONE sympathizers. As Poland is currently our Natural Enemy, it's hard to not find this somewhat distressing.

As more people begin to buy votes with this method, even more will then join in order to compete with them, until it will become impossible to be in the top 5 without the help of this club. This will mean more money into the pockets of the ONE citizens that run and work for this club, which will then help them to be more efficient at fighting us on the other side of the battlefield. Presumably, as their membership grows they'll be able to offer larger amounts of votes, and of course charge higher prices for it. We let all this happen, to help support a sort of votes arms race that we've mostly built up ourselves.

I can understand why it would be tempting to want an MM medal or money for subs, especially as many eAmericans are already taking advantage. However, I don't see how we can be so trusting of this club when it's run by loyal ePolish citizens. It's completely contradictory to be funding and working for people who fight for ONE, while at the same time fighting against ONE. We need to be more cautious about who we do business with. Honestly, I dont understand why there haven't been more people speaking out against this.

This article is not meant to cast any blame though, but rather call for a change. It's only natural to try to follow what or whoever has been successful.

Would it be impossible for there to be a similar group with only allies? Surely us having to keep paying Poles isn't an ideal situation.

It doesn't seem likely that we'll be able to return to a system without mass vote buying soon, but it's not worth it to pay ONE as a consequence.
