The Ideological War is Over

Day 661, 19:37 Published in USA USA by Jack Flufferton

Over the course of the war, I've noticed something: PEACE will not be able to break the American spirit, will, arrogance, or whatever you want to call it.

Undoubtedly, many, many PEACE citizens relished the fact that the US was being absolutely obliterated - along with other Fortis/Eden nation - not because we're members of opposing alliances, but because of real life prejudice against America. They wanted to knock Americans' egos down a notch by dismantling America's economy, infrastructure and desire to play the game. These are the people I am addressing, but remember, there are plenty of PEACE denizens that are good sports and realize the war and eRep are all in fun.

In the days preceding our territorial nadir, humility was abound in the general populace regarding America's impending doom. Most articles had to do with accepting fate and dying honorably, peppered with corny 300 quotes. If PEACE were to succeed in delivering a hard blow to Americans' egos, this was a moment conducive to teaching. Unfortunately for revenge-seekers, the PEACE propaganda machines weren't working well.

No boobs in this article, sorry, only a topless man

Tons of PEACE propaganda pieces were getting trolled by Americans compensating for our failure by touting the US's real life stature, basically saying, "whatever, ur beating us in a game but your country sucks irl lol". Almost immediately after we won our first region back the chest-thumping resumed, albeit with reservation; people were mostly just taunting at that stage. Once America controlled all of the South and West, the epeens were fully flexed and being flaunted about.

As I briefly mentioned in my previous article, PEACE's full-scale, sustained invasion of North America was a lopsided response to the actual offenses we had committed. Plus, most new players don't know much about America's past, and, understandably so, don't feel responsible for that which PEACE is butthurt about. It's no wonder nobody was affected much by the war. Oh, and the whole PEACE anti-imperialism thing was debunked long ago - you have already disproportionately punished the US, so your presence in North America is now imperialism.

While I wish people would learn a real life lesson from our foes - it just didn't get through to most Americans. Now, there is nothing left strategically or ideologically that be accomplished and sustained long-term.

The war is obviously going to continue for a while longer, but it's clear that PEACE's mission has unequivocally failed. After recovering from one territory, Americans now believe they can overcome whatever momentum PEACE accumulates, so the dream of a greater-than-the-game teachable moment has passed - PEACE cannot lower America's spirit to that level again. You taught us essential lessons about game mechanics and coordination, and we indebted to you for that.

If you are enjoying the competitive aspect of the war, great, it's fun, but it has run its course. If you've got hopes of something more, it's time to give up, that war is over.
