Philip Delle Palme giving one of his... FAMOUS... speeches in the barracks!

Soldiers and Officers of the CAF,
Yesterday was quite an amazing day. We saw eRomania get back on the map and the Serbian scum was purged from eUK. Well done to all of you.

Recently the CAF received a very generous gift from one of our officers. Lt. Vanq has donated several hundred Q5 weapons to the CAF to be used in our Ranger program. This will give a little boost to the Rangers damage and show them what they will be able to do once they graduate from the Rangers. A big thank you goes to Lt. Vanq for his generosity.

We have enemies at our doors and we will be ready for them. Make sure that you are checking IRC and the forums over the next few days for orders. If you do not have access to either and cannot wait for a response from a pm then fight in the campaign of the day. The next couple weeks will certainly be interesting so be online when you can and lets kick some ass.

Good Hunting,
General Philip Delle Palme
Operational Commander

AngryMobMan in deep thought behind his desk...

What more can an organized fighting group ask for - then what we have seen over the past month?

We've been just about EVERYWHERE over the previous weeks! We've been fighting for our Balkan allies, we've been moving to help liberate regions, we've been fighting for our american bros... and for our new found French and British bros... and we've now (even more recently) been fighting on HOME SOIL!

What are the results of this? A better CAF! Because of all of this fighting, we have been able to become more coherent as a group - faster supplies, better orders, more coordination, and so much more - and that is becoming more and more evident EVERY SINGLE DAY!

We've made it common knowledge to the WORLD now, that we are a fighting force to be reckoned with - and each and every one of you, fine soldiers, should be 100% PROUD of ALL of your actions.

There is no better fighting force, that I would rather fight with!

Colonel AngryMobMan

AngryCanadian getting ready for his INTERVIEW!

Please state your rank and name for the records.
Hey there! I am 00AngryMobMan00 (though most of you know me simply as "AMM" on IRC) - and I currently hold the rank of Colonel in the Canadian Armed Forces!

What do you do in the CAF?
Currently for the CAF, I am the Chief Public Relations Officer (the man tasked with formatting and publishing our "guardian" newsletter - and helping work alongside our CAF recruiters) and I am also the Deputy Personnel Management Officer (the man tasked with helping mask people, accept/deny applications and requests, and transferring people from one platoon to another). I am also a platoon Executive Officer! (26th Royal Canadian Highlanders.. FTW!)

What first Brought you to eRepublik?
What first brought me to eRepublik? Those annoying website advertisements that you see One day I happened to see one of those, so I thought "hmm, I guess I should try it out..." - and low and behold, I made my own character, and slowly learned the game mechanics (on my own :/), and slowly but surely made my way to what I am today!

What is your opinion on the current state of the caf?
My personal opinion on the CAF - however biased it may be - is that it is great in many aspects, but like most things, could use a bit of improvement. What do I mean by improvement? I mean, we need to improve on two different levels, Public Appearances and Member Retention. In terms of Public Relations, the CAF publishes a bi-weekly newspaper and (although this is mainly my fault ) that is simply not good enough anymore - especially when we see TCO publishing bi-daily newspaper articles (haha, yes, them and their Gemma addictions). In terms of Member Retention, we simply need to learn how to continually make our forums seem more appealing to everyone (this isn't as easy as it sounds - after all, many people want to just go on IRC to communicate, but that simply isn't enough). If the CAF can learn to master those 2 things, then we will certainly be better off!

What are some of your achievements in eRepublik?
Hmm... some of my achievements... well, politically speaking, I have been a five-time congressman (if my memory serves me well, 2 of those terms were served in Alberta, 2 in British Colombia, and 1 in Nunavut), and I have also been a five-time Party President of the Canadian Paradox Party! Ironically however, I don't have any achievements (well okay, a few) economically speaking (Hmm, that is very sad, I have been playing 20 months, and only have 3 Hard Worker medals) - but military wise, I have 5 super-trooper medals.... and at one point (in the CAF) I was a branch commander (during the Hexagonal-board-V2 period). Other than that, I must say that I am approaching 2-years-old now in eRepublik.. and man, that HAS to be worth something

What first brought you to the caf?
The thing that brought me to the CAF - was the aspect that it was the *only* choice in eCanada at the time. When I joined the CAF (about 18 months back now), there was literally, only the CAF. No TCO. No HOPE. Nothing else. But even still, I was very motivated to join the CAF, because they constantly proclaimed (and have of course, proven to me) that they were one of the most respectable fighting forces... not to mention all the perks they mentioned (free weapons, teamwork, getting to know others, etc..)! It was all of those combined, that persuaded me to join the CAF! 🙂

What are your plans for the future?
Hmm.. in the somewhat distant future, I hope to accomplish a couple of things. First off, I am hoping that in May, I will be able to run alongside Acacia Mason in his campaign for CP (more details to be announced later )... I will be trying to squeeze in one or two more congressional runs... and eventually, many months down the road (i.e. November 2011), I will be making my first attempt at Country President! Of course.. who knows what other fun things will come up along the way

Do you have any advice for new recruits?
To all the new recruits:
I simply have two things to say to you all. First off, never ever give up - right now you may seem overwhelmed, by joining such a large force - and you feel like you don't belong, or that you don't fit in; put those feelings aside. You young recruits are the next generation of the CAF, and we need, each and every single one of you! Don't give up, and simply, keep giving your full effort to the CAF, since, the more you put in - the more you'll get out of it! Secondly, whatever you do, make sure you take advantage of EVERYTHING that is offered to you. Right now, you are in an optimal position, you are surrounded by both experienced and new players - so be sure to ask around, to find out information... if you ask a question, you are GUARANTEED a response from one of many helping and dedicated CAF members! Not to mention, take advantage of our FREE SUPPLY program - after all, what's better than getting free FOOD every day to fight with!

Do you have any funfacts you wish to share?
Fun facts about AMM... hmm.. you are implying that I am a FUN guy? =O Haha... but let's see... Well, I have traveled to 29 eRepublik countries (for a legit visit - not just a 2-minute stand)... I (still!) hold the current record for most "simultaneous positions held" (5 at once.. anyone care to beat that?)... oh, and I am the first Party President of the CPP, to ever lead us into the #1 spot!

Feel free to give any shoutouts if you want!
Oh yes, I have a bunch of shout outs! First of all, to all the amazing high commanders I work alongside - PhilipDellePalme, jsboutin, Killacrazy, Raw784, MaryChan, Cozza, Coda, Jfstpierre, Roger Griswald, Ramizeth, ArtemisBane, SilencerII, Snowblade, and the the other amazing High Command folks that I missed! Also, a huge shout out to ALL of the Canadian Paradox Party members (I couldn't of done it without you guys!)... and a special shout out to my eHusband, Jfstpierre (~Jeffou~).... and last but not least, a shout out to all the amazing folk that make up the best damn CAF platoon, the 26th Royal Canadian Highlanders!

We really do supply guns THAT BIG! Kelly Mahoney surely can concur!

Today I'm going to write a little bit about what I believe is the number one complaint of new (and some old and cranky) recruits into the CAF. And it is "WHY CAN'T I EVER GET SUPPLIES?"

Well, for starters, in case you don't already know, you need to log into the #ecancaf IRC (chat) channel, in order to view up-to-date orders, and to jump into #cafsupply, from whence you will be supplied. In order to get into either channel, you need to be granted access by a channel moderator your first time, and at the same time they'll give you instructions on how to regain access. (You have to invite yourself, don't worry, if I can do it, you know it ain't complicated.)

When you get into #cafsupply, there will normally be a line of instructions up at the top. Usually it will tell you who is availible to give you supplies, and how to ask for them. (You copy the link to your in-game profile, and then ask for whichever supplies you want.) Sometimes you need to "ping" the supplier to attract their attention, by typing out their name. Sometimes, they ignore you anyway, particularly if their name is Cozza.

Now, there isn't always a person online who is able to supply you, and sometimes it's Cozza. (Cozza is Australian, so we have to pardon him.) This can be frustrating, but remember that everyone, even suppliers, is playing this game for fun, suppliers are essentially volunteer labour, and sometimes they're doing something else then staring at their computer screens waiting for you to ask for supplies. (Hard to believe, innit.)

The most likely time to find a supplier online is in the (Ontario) evening, and, I'm told, into the night. But, as an "early" player, I have been able to obtain supplies as early as 9 in the morning, and, I'd say 75% of the time that supplies are being given out on a day, I can get them by the end of lunchtime. Some days, because there are no battles, or because the supply budget is under strain, there simply are no supplies availible to a regular. The amount of supplies can fluctuate, as well.

This isn't the end of the world, and it dosen't mean that the CAF system is broken. You don't have to fight every day. You won't be kicked out if you fail to participate in a battle a day because you couldn't get supplies. If you want to, you can probably afford to pay for your own supplies for a few fights - the "big hitters" usually plow everything they earn into training and supplies, that`s how they stay up there at the top of the influence lists.

To conclude, yes, depending on your schedule and location, you may have to drop in to the CAF channels two or even three times a day in order to get your supplies. But it dosen't take very long to get in, and when you're in, it takes about three seconds to see if anyone is availible to supply. It's worth it, and after about a week, you'll probably figure out for yourself when is best for you to try for those supplies. And then you'll be all set!

ENLIST TODAY!

Most recently, we have been fighting in the eBalkans, helping out our bro, Croatia; and also helping our newfound ally, France, vs Poland and Spain of the NWO/ONE. We may not always win, but this is a gesture of friendship that can only strengthen our relations when our allies see all those CAF avatars hitting. With the fronts all becoming ever more dangerous, we need as many people as possible to join a militia (seriously, WTF are you doing if you aren't with either CAF, TCO or HOPE?). France is getting crushed by Spain and Poland, Cromania is being anihallated by joint Hungarian and Serbian forces . Italy is being single-handedly wiped by FYROM. Even Greece has started to lose ground to the Turks. The point is, we are fighting a losing battle right now. Things are not well.

On top of that, a confrontation with Spain is coming soon, as they just need to conquer Pays De La Loire, and then we have a border, and can declare war on each other. The USA has already started its war vs Spain. Also, 3 out of 5 NWO/ONE countries are just a few short steps away from us: Spain (1 region away), Serbia (a few regions away, due to their dominions in the UK) and Poland (in Mexico and they are pushing deep into France). Soon, eCanada may have to punch WAAAAAAYYY above her weight, as these countries are some of the most powerful in the world. We need to minimize that difference by recruiting soldiers. It may end up like when eCanada got wiped, or it may turn out to nothing (However, I personally believe that the former is more likely.

I do not know whether victory or defeat awaits us, but we must drag out the fight as long as possible.
