The Germark Assault - An Explanation

G'day fellow Aussies! It's time to explain exactly what happened in regards to the lead up and aftermath of the airstrike on Denmark.

After the fall of TWO the Netherlands were split on deciding on which side they would enter of the alliances, eventually they had chosen to go onto the Sirius side but many were unhappy with this decision, but it was a decision that had to be made.

The past few months a lot of NEBULA country players started to make good relations with the Netherlands, and a lot of their players had close ties with Norway especially.

eNetherlands had been on good terms with Germany until recently. They were also in a defensive-pact called NSPP together. Germany decided to get greedy and leave the NSPP and then turn on their ally Netherlands and attack them for bonuses.

However, eNetherlands had signed a couple of MPPs with Pro-Asteria countries, this would help them defend themselves against the German aggression.

Pr3zzyy and myself realized that this could be a good reason to take the opportunity to attack an enemy country so that the public could earn some more TP damage for the tournament, make some more gold from the tournament, increase activity and excitement, and at the same time help out the Netherlands against the German oppression. This attack would be an attack on German interests.

Another reason why we didn't have a problem attacking German interests was because when Germany was a member of the Aurora alliance, they fought for Chile to attack Australia and fought hard for them to contain Australian RWs and ensure that Australia kept wiped indefinitely at that time. Australia had been kept wiped for almost 8 months without a congress at that time, Chile and their Aurora allies (including Germany) showed no mercy. Chile at that time wouldn't even respond to us when we tried to get an NAP so that we could at least have one region for a congress... Eventually after 8 months of being wiped one of our Spanish speaking players had finally found someone in the Chilean government willing to consider the possibility of an NAP with Australia. But unfortunately it was too little too late, we had lost a large amount of players from the great wipe who either left eAustralia or left the game.. The point being, is that Germany was an Aurora member at that time helping Chile to keep us wiped forever, they showed no mercy.

Why Denmark and not Germany? Don't be fooled by the 'why attack a helpless country'' propaganda, allow me to explain: Denmark and Germany made a pact called 'Germark' in this game technically Denmark doesn't exist, it is really Germany, that's why it is always kept wiped by Germany. Germany just gets all the bonuses and milks Denmark's resources, while Denmark saves all their funds and uses those funds for the interests of Germark. So in reality, an attack on Denmark is an attack on Germany. Many players argue that Denmark doesn't really even have its own government. It has a skeleton government that just presses the buttons needed when Germany tells them to.

Seeing that Germany has a huge MPP stack and a large amount of VISAs willing to hit for them, Pr3zzyy and I made the decision that if we could make the attack on Denmark instead of Germany directly it would increase our chances of landing the Airstrike as Denmark had no MPPs, then once the Airstrike landed, we could NE Germany directly from there. So we convinced Henry to push the Airstrike button.

Of course we didn't expect to win a war directly against Germany, they have a lot of money and strong allies from past history and they have VISAs willing to hit for them, we understood that. We just wanted to at least land the Airstrike and enjoy some war games for the tournament while at the same time the Netherlands could perhaps free up a couple of their core regions while the German oppressors were distracted and who knows maybe some of our allies would get in on the action too.. Unfortunately due to the fact that we couldn't get an Argentinian and Serbian MPP in time before we landed we were at a disadvantage as Germany had put up massive COs on against us, the amounts which they spent on COs we were not able to match, also they had contacted former Aurora allies to set the battle for them as prio in which many were willing to move there and tank for Germark.

Anyway we had fun and it was exciting and we made a new friend - Netherlands.
