On day 1408 (September 28th 2011), the eRepublik administration announced that they will add Albania and Kosovo to eRepublik.
As everyone knows, Kosovo is a disputed territory between Albania and Serbia. This conflict goes on for hundreds of years, to the time before the Ottoman Empire.
Sorry for drifting outside the game, but it's crutial for my point.
Altough I see it as a victory for Kosovo (which is not yet known if Kosovo will be a country or a region), because I support the sovereignity and independence of Kosovo. I wish that there will be a Kosovo not controlled by Albania nor Serbia.
Analysis:
Although I want Kosovo in eRepublik, and Albania, there is no point adding Albania and Kosovo together. In the minute Kosovo will be added (well 45 days after), Serbia, and Albania will fight all the time trying to gain control over the region, mostly because RL matters (eKosovo War).
How will it affect the rest of the world?:
Well, like any war, it drags other countries into it. Serbia, has, and will have more allies then Albania, because Serbia has been in eRepublik longer.
But, Albania is already on trial mode in the EDEN alliance, together with Portugal. EDEN, as everyone knows, is the current, longest existing alliance in eRepublik. As a successor of ATLANTIS, it can easily gather countries against Serbia (and ONE).
If it will happen, it will be a total of 18 countries fighting against one another for Kosovo. Out of 70 countries (with Albania) it's a new World War.
The conflict diplomaticly:
Every single one of the eRepublik citizens, by choosing a side in the vote of 11-13 of October, enters this wierd, long, war between Serbia and Albania over Kosovo.
Around and on the citizens that vote, stands the country.
If for instance, the United States will decide to support Albania in the conflict, it acctualy disconnects itself from trading with ONE members and other pro-Serbian countries. It's also means get ready for war, because the new Albania will be needing weapons, money (mostly money) and political support in general. Not only that, the young Albania will be attacked by all anti-American and anti-Terra organizations and countries, aswell as economicaly blocked. The Albanians will be denied to trade with Spain, Latvia, Montenegro, South and North Korea, Thailand, UK, Italy etc.
BUT, by supporting Albania, America will retain it's support from all the members of Terra, and the support of most members of EDEN, which could be great for both the American and Albanian economy.
If the US will decide to support Serbia, the US will lose the support of half of Terra members, and most of EDEN members.
BUT, the US can start a good relationship with the Republic of Macedonia (FYROM), which is currently pretty big, and pretty resourceful. The US can start a good relationship with Poland that can leave the US someday. Spain will still be an enemy, but who cares. Turkey, which is currently controling a large territory of the Middle East, can be also very resourceful.
WELL, WE WILL LET TIME TELL
🙂

first sub
Kosovo did not win. U.S.A. won.
@crueldestiny thnx for the sub
@Mister Y duh, but because of the American victory, Kosovo is now ready to claim Independence, and is really structurly, politicaly, economicaly and militantly.
WAIT WHAT?! we don't want to control of eKosova. We support eKosova as an INDEPENDENT nation on this game, Our main priority will be to protect it from the Serbians. And denied trade with North Korea,South Korea, Italy??
Italy will be our ally as they are a EDEN nation and the people of Italy have shown great support for our nation just like every other EDEN nation, North Korea is a satellite state(PTO'd country) of eChina, and South Korea does not give a crap about what happens in Europe .
how many worldwars would that be that are running simultaneously now?
@FriedRice if you have read more carefully, you could have seen that I looked at the situation from both sides, please stop your ignorance.
