The future of eCanada
jbdivinus
This month, eCanada has been forced to learn many lessons. Some were harsh, but many were pleasant. Acacia's term at President probably would earn the highest approval rating of all the presidents I have seen come and go. As a country, we learned how much fun a real war can be. We learned strategy, we learned to come together on IRC and fight as a single unit, we learned about the economy.
The country has been so focused on what is happening with eCanada on the international scene, that in many ways, it has forgotten about partisan politics. Quite wonderful, if you ask me.
Acacia has announced that he plans to endorse a mystery candidate in the upcoming elections. For those of you anticipating my announcement to run, whether to mock me or to support me, I must apologize, I am not that candidate. I do not intend to run. Our nation needs several things right now, to keep this level of stability in our political system, and simultaneously, to improve our community in several ways.
Primarily, we need to increase the size of our active community. We can do this by keeping people interested, and in making sure new players get all the help they need.
A secondary objective, secondary not in importance but because the first is the foundation upon which it is built, is improving our ability and efficiency at fighting. V2 warfare is the dawn of a new era, one that we have only been truly introduced to this month. It will take reform, planning, and co-ordination to insure that our nation has a strong citizenry ready to protect it at all times.
I, and several other prominent canadians, have been in discussion as to how we can accomplish these goals, while maintaining the momentum and stability that Acacia has given to us this month. Let us not be caught unawares when the end of the term hits. Let us be prepared, and ready to continue moving forward in this positive direction.
I ask that you take the time to think about where you want this nation to be; in a month, two months, six. Addy Lawrence put it very well in one of his recent comments...this game doesn't have defined goals for "winning" or "losing", we make it what we want to be. I like the idea of maintaining what we have for the foreseeable future, and in improving on it.
What are your suggestions?
What do you plan to contribute?

Great article. Heres to our continued success in the future!
I wanted to mock you supportively.
I plan to leave the game - lol! That said, I'd vote for strategic and logical team play and a better understanding of game mechanics.
my suggestions: 1. Have an MoD who updates battle orders for civilians when new battles are opened/closed, and 2) set a time for civilian attacks like the US does. On the US DoD they state at the bottom of every article when a war is starting: Join #defense at 18:00 Day 1010 for a coordinated civilian strike. They have a pretty active channel, someone from their military gives objectives, and people learn to work together to acheive them. Great for community building.

Agreed that we need war like these just to keep the game fun and to retain our players, it might cost some money but we will become a stronger nation on the long term with this strategy.
But the nations we war against will also retain their players...
@Dycey: You are realy leaving?
+1 Grinch--good call!
I'll just advice everyone to join TCO and kill some redcoats!*evil grin*
@Dycey Farley: Dont leave!! *sadface*
"For those of you anticipating my announcement to run"
Hate to say it I dont think anybody was anticipating anything.
You don't hate to say it. You relish saying it.
I suggest a government program to subsidise military training so that those who proclaim themselves fighters are given gold periodically to use the bootcamp booster.
What I will contribute? Heh. If I got back half the taxes I pay in subsidies, I'd be contributing plenty. However I will contribute a commitment to keep fighting for my country, even when alone.

Haha, touche.
