The Failings of Sol: Part 1. Sol HQ Password Withheld from Chairman!
Jeff Hamilton
One thing that not all citizens realize is that this nation is a part of Sol, along with six other nations (now rapidly becoming seven, as Israel is joining the alliance soon). The actions of Sol's secretive Security Council have profound effects on the politics and international relations of each member nation.
However, even this relatively minor alliance holds some secrets. I intend to expose to you all of those secrets. Sol does not allow people access to the inner parts of the Forums where the important stuff is debated, but yours truly has sources with access to all of those secrets.
One of these little tidbits is in the second-most secret part of the Sol forums, the so-called "Confidential Discussion" section. There is something very interesting on the inside there.
Many of you have seen my previous article about the impeachment of Albert Neurath, something which is NOT part of the Sol Charter in the slightest, and therefore is dubious in its legality. This was proposed by Hekter, the SELF-APPOINTED Vice-Chairman of Sol, and the sponsor of yet another egregious bit of political posturing.
Hekter, someone who already has shown his dislike of the Chairman, has changed the password on the rightful controller, again the Chairman, of the Sol HQ! The Sol HQ contains over 200 GOLD! Something very ill is brewing in the Sol Alliance right now.
Hekter will try to claim that it is because of the current impeachment proposal that he has removed access to the Treasury from the Chairman. Sol right now is dangerously poised to be split apart by political posturing.
The question I ask of you, fair citizens, is whom should we trust? The elected Chairman who made a single bad comment, or the self-appointed Vice Chairman with his relentless attacks on the Chairman?
Stay tuned for the next installment of this series.

I think we all know who to trust on the outlined issue and I also think those within sol who are causing un-rest should be removed immediately as the alliance is simply too important, especially to eSA, to be allowed to self destruct.
Albert Neurath deserves impeachment.
Gosh, Jeff, get over it, we finished this yesterday, get with the program.
1. Of course I am self-appointed. That's how the Vice-Chairmanship works when you're also the President. You appoint yourself Representative of the Host Nation and you act as Vice-Chairman. Ooogity Boogity. Chapter 3, Article 13: "1. The Representative from the Host Nation, upon his her her nation assuming the title of Host Nation, becomes the Vice Chairman to aid the Chairman in her or her duties." There are no powers as Vice Chairman that are not also Representative powers, so there is no change anyway.
2. Yes, I changed the password. It is only logical to want to protect both the gold and paper from someone that is under the threat of removal. I'd rather see this article complaining about that than see both the org gone and the money missing because of anger over impeachment.
3. I really like how you know about the contents of the 'Secure Discussions' aspect of the forum, which you don't even have an account on, which obviously says that it is not very secure indeed.
As a member of SOL we have been told very little of the going ons!
Zagarius, you can look things up on the Sol forums. As a Sol citizen you can read basically everything except for the most secret forum parts where close to nothing is happening really.
Ah more Drama.
I support the steps taken by Hekter. Its better that the gold stay safe where it is than have it be potentially doled out to various brown-nosers and political friends if an impeachment becomes successful.
Hekter in this whole process has been one of the most observent people. Yes he proposed removal of Albert, but only after reading the backlog of what was said and done.
Also he is NOT self-appointed. He is Charter Appointed but you didnt take the time to read the charter or to sign up for the forums. Much like your reporting in your last article, this one lacks key facts and contains various amounts of untruth for the purposes of Drama.
You call this a "relentless attack" yet before this no one ever cared if Albert was chairman or not... so its pretty hard to call 2 incidents a relentless attack.
I suggest you stop writing utter drivel and become informed. Your articles might be a little more truthful after you do.
wow, how the fuck did a PEACE troll get to be such a high position?
Not one CP I have spoken to from Sol is comfortable with the way these changes are been done.
What does that tell you?
Relorian:
Show me proof of any financial misdeeds on the part of Albert Neurath, and I will write a gigantic article titled "Relorian was Right!" Until then, I ask you to please keep your speculations to yourself.
Boethiah:
Plenty. That tells me you have spoken to Hekter and Whispering Elizabeth, yet nobody else whatsoever.
I love being treated like I'm invisible whenever I defend myself.
Don't worry Hekter, I am getting to you:
1. You, Hekter, are a Vizier and in that capacity you are not supposed to propose legislation to the Council. If you are going to act in your capacity as Representative, then you ethically should refrain from using tools that are only available to you due to your dual position. If you were a mere Representative, then you would not have that password. As someone with a personal stake in the impeachment process, you should have left the decision to change the HQ password to the Vizier with a much more unbiased interest in the matter, rather than appear biased yourself.
2. Again, you should not be making that decision due to your personal stake in the impeachment process. I am sure that Albert Neurath has never committed any financial misdeeds in the past, and for you to assume that he would begin now is crass.
3. I will not reveal my sources. I would really like to see what's in the highest-level area though.
Come on guys, Sol isn't even powerful enough to warrant this sort of shenanigans. Knock that shit off
1. I was gifted with Viziership for my work as Chairman, and I did not expect to hold this office when I accepted the honor.
As for the org password, I was given it when I was Chairman, and then appointed Director of Communications, which involves the paper attached to the org. I've been trusted with it for quite some time.
2. I never implied that he has or will--this is, quite frankly, a protective measure that should be part of all policies--it would probably save a lot of organizations and countries money and embarassment. I was moreso worried about using the paper, which causes a lot more damage to credibility over time, if articles are written in anger.
3. As if we didn't have enough trouble, we can't even discuss anything in private. Thanks.
I think only Snayke should have the password for the time being, actually. He is Imperator, after all XD.
It is an appropriate policy choice to remove the Chairman's access during an impeachment. It probably should have been announced, and probably should not have been executed by someone who represents his country and not just Sol. But in reality, Hekter has easily been one of the top 5 most involved and loyal people in Sol, probably higher than that.
>Plenty. That tells me you have spoken to Hekter and Whispering Elizabeth, yet nobody else whatsoever.
Actually the only ones I haven't spoken to are China and Australia.
Since Sol seems not to recognise the Thai president.
Thats 4/6 active presidents
Actually Jeff I've spoken to 4 so far, thats 4 out of Seven who are concerned with the changes, thats over half of Sol.
Infact because thailand is officially under PTO(i'm told) thats 4/6 Sol presidents.
Boethiah:
The other thing you need to clarify is which changes? Also, Thailand is a very special case in this matter, and would require quite some time to explain fully. Suffice it to say, there are people whose opinions you could ask for.
>The other thing you need to clarify is which changes?
Nice try, but I can't clarify, enough of Sols info has been shared and if Sol citizens want to know, they can look on our forums, or come chat in IRC, suffice it to say they are the changes which I initially opposed and the further changes that are happening now.
>Thailand is a very special case
PTOs are special?
Oh and I know there however even if you take thailand into account its still 5/7s of member CPs.
4/7* which is still a lot. 🙂
Boethiah, your lack of curiosity and political knowledge about your fellow member nations is disheartening. Perhaps if you listened or asked someone else, they would tell you the details.
Jeff Hamilton:
Perhaps if Albert did not act like a dictator and like he is the God of Sol, trust would have been left in his hands. However when he acts like a rash little child repeatedly, things such as a budget or gold should not be left in his hands.
