The eUnited States of America Airborne: Rendezvous With Destiny

Day 563, 19:50 Published in USA USA by Tronyx
Introductions

First allow me to introduce myself. My name is Joshua Hoss and I currently serve as a Colonel with the eUSA Airborne. I started my military career as a raw recruit in the old National Guard's 1st Platoon, 2nd Division. I worked my way up through Platoon Sergeant, Platoon Lieutenant (thanks for the recommendation Cstarlight!), 2nd Division Major serving the role of Director of Education, and a brief stint as Colonel in the role of the National Guard Quarter Master. I have been serving in the military almost since joining the game in January - it really is my first love ineRepublik . As I stated above I have taken on the rank of Colonel in the newly formed Airborne military branch, serving as a Commanding Officer for the 101st Battalion. My goal in this article is to introduce the Airborne and to explain the roles and duties of this new branch. If I am lucky I might even convince a few of you to join us... 🙂

Something Old, Something New

Many people are aware of the eUSA Marines. It is what every new recruit dreams of – traveling the world, fighting everyday, a close relationship with your fellow Marines, being part of a select group. When a soldier finally makes it up to that level they tend to stick around for a very long time, and who can blame them? In order to take that into account we are proud to announce the creation of the Airborne. The Airborne will serve as a branch between the Army and the Marines, be a selective group of hardened soldiers looking for structure and experience, maintain high discipline and demanding high activity, and strive to be the best military branch in the eUSA. Taking nothing away from the Marines the Airborne will attempt to be a "lightening strike" organization - quick in and quick out. We want the name "Airborne" to bring to mind the tough real life organization we honor, to inspire soldiers to develop bonds and friendships with their fellow soldiers, and to provide leadership for the other branches. Because of this we have set the lofty goal of being the best military branch in theeUSA military.

Requirements

Being an elite group demands at least some requirements. Currently you must have a strength level of at least 8, an eRepublik army rank of at least Lieutenant, and you must be an active solider. Activity is determined by you ability to check the military forum for orders and your message inbox for commands at least twice daily. It is also recommended that you come onto the Rizon Chat server for real time conversation. You must also be able to deploy over seas, possibly daily. All of these requirements are taken into account when you apply. If you have the eRepublik rank of Sergeant, 12 strength, check the forums several times daily, and respond to messages promptly odds are pretty good that you will be allowed in. We really want to become a unit of faster response - high reliable soldiers.

What to expect

As stated above the Airborne will be a highly mobile fast response military branch. Deployment overseas or stateside with orders will occur weekly, if not daily. Airborne soldiers are expected to check in with their platoons daily and expected to follow orders. If they do so they can expect to receive funds (limited to total available funds, as are all branches) in the form of weapons/moving tickets. There will be pressure to show results in return of receiving funding, and competition for positions within the Airborne will be extreme. We do not want automated machines either, we want soldiers that can assess the situation and determine the best way to carry out their orders. For example: You are ordered to deploy in an enemy nation that we are at war with as soon as possible. You should already know that you need to move first to a neutral nation and then to the enemy nation, we shouldn't have to receive questions form you saying "I cannot move there".

Structure

The Airborne will be a branch smaller than either the Army or Mobile Infantry, but larger than the Marines. Currently we are led by General Leroy Combs and Lt. General Armandez. General Combs at one point the Director for the CIA and is a highly regarded voice within the eUSA military. Lt. General Armandez is a former Army Executive and Command officer. There are two Battalions (101st and 82nd), led by Colonels Joshua Hoss and Maxmillian VonWillebrand. Colonel VonWillebrand was in the process of setting up an Army Ranger Division when the Airborne was created and is familiar with the concept. Each Battalion currently contains two platoons, led by a Lieutenant and Sergeant. Because the Airborne is new and growing advancement is possible whenever a new platoon may be created. As with all new military branches newer roles may also develop, so we ask that our members interested in advancement keep an eye out.

Ok, I want to join

If this sounds like something you would be interested in doing then please visit our fast and easy to use application. You will be contacted when accepted to the Airborne. Remember, this is a smaller branch that has to be highly selective – just because you do not hear anything doesn't mean you may not get in! Give it time! If you have questions on your application or on anything mentioned above you may contact me, I would be happy to answer your questions. Hoorah!

Thank you,
Colonel Joshua Hoss
