So ePoland want a 'white peace' huh?

We at the nCPF were the FIRST Party in eCanada to call for our NE with ePoland (see: http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/let-s-ne-epoland-1908784/1/20) so it is fitting that that we should comment on this 'peace proposal'.

Certainly the war has gone better than many expected. While nobody could forsee the problems with Ones bot-net cheat programme, which has certainly helped us, there was in fact always good reason to expect a favourable start to the campaign; the basic principle of over extension. Basicly the larger any Empire gets (even in real life) the more enemies it makes and the more people it has to keep in subjection. In real life Empires hire native troops for local garrisoning (retrain the Iraqi and Afghan armies in modern terms of the Turkish Janissary programme for the Ottomans); they 'convert' the locals to their system (as with Gaul in the Roman Empire) or alternatively the Empire itself 'goes native' (ie.The Normans in England or the English in the U.S).

In eRepublik these things cannot happen. An eCanadian, even if he has no country left and temporarily moves to an allied country, remains eCanadian and remains an enemy to the country who occupies eCanada, he/she is NOT about to be hired for the local garrison. Nor can, for example ePoland, 'go native'. Thus the larger an erep Empire becomes the more difficult it becomes to hold. In this regard it was noticeable ePoland and their One allies, while invading eUSA did NOT attack eCanada; perhaps they knew this would be an enemy too many... Such was their fear and our hope and so it has since proved.

While an erep Empire is weakest when it reaches its 'critical overstretch limit' the converse becomes true as it shrinks. ePoland still has nearly 16,000 citizens (although there appears to be some internal divisions), compared to eUSA + eCanada totaling about 10,000. Therefore the dream of marching on Warsaw is essentialy unrealistic. Even with eFrance and eGermany (about 5000 citizens combined) ePoland still outnumber us and once in Europe eSerbia and eSpain must be added to the equation. The REAL question that has to be answered when considering this peace proposal is: How much further overstretched are they?

For myself I regard this peace proposal as overly generous to ePoland and I will explain why:

1. It is now clear to them and us that they have reached 'critical overstrech'. Why then should they have a 'white peace'? How much gold would they spend defending their remaining regions in eUSA? Let them at least PAY for a peace they NEED! Why would we let them escape with this money when it is ours to make them waste?

2. Consider the eFrance/ePoland Peace Treaty: Section 3 states that ePoland will hold 11 regions "Poitou Charentes, Limousin, Auvergne, Rhone Alps, Brittany, Pays de Loire, Loire Valley,
Burgundy, Franche-comte, Champagne Ardenne, Lorraine, and Alsace. However Section 5 states: "If Poland loose control over one of regions from point 3: - France will NE Poland as soon as it is possible." In order to obtain 3000 more allies we have only to land in Brittany screaming 'Sacre bleu' and 'Liberte' etc.This adds to the 'over-stretch' they are already experiencing and decreases the limits of their realistic holdings.

The eCanadian President, Addy Lawrence, writes that "USA, like a good bro, wouldn't enter into a peace deal with Poland without consulting with Canada." Why then should not eFrance be included in such a peace? I suspect this is precisely what ePoland fears and therefore we should insist on it! They know we have only to take Brittany and they face another front. Since they know this let them liberate also ALL the eFrench coast, which alone guarantees our future security from them.

A Reasonable Peace

ePoland and eSerbia will leave ALL North American regions and the eFrench regions of Brittany, Pays de la Loire, Poitou Charentes, Loire Valley and Limousin. They shall war indemnities to eUSA of 5000 gold and to eFrance of 5000 gold.

They shall sign NAPs with eFrance, eCanada and eUSA to last 40 days and pay eCanada 5000 gold to be forfeited should they break their NAPs.

Even then we'd probably face a war with eSlovenia and the same soldiers under a different flag. The French coast is the future security of N.America AND MUST be included in ANY peace. They know this and know that to hold it and face no war with eFrance is a good deal for them. Under the present terms they will be back in 30 days and this we must try to stop.

I remember some time ago when ePoland (as an Eden member) occupied most of eFrance (who were seriously considering becoming neutral) ePoland wanted 10,000 gold to liberate Paris! (I was nearly sacked as MoFa for calling the ePolish MoFa 'a dam idiot' or similar).

Only a fool tries to hold what he cannot keep; they have realised this. On the other a fool does NOT take what he knows he can (in war at least). We should KNOW that their eFrench holdings are what they fear for; without them they cannot so easily invade N.America again and may face another front if we land in France.

One other consideration should be considere😛 Can our other allies so easily accept peace? Suppose ePoland simply reverses and attacks eRussia and eChina? In 30 days they could be ready to attack Alaska again only this time from the East. Would we MPP all our other allies to prevent them suffering the fate of eFrance and eGermany?

The current Peace Proposal is, in my opinion, FAR too lenient and I urge ALL Congressmen in eUSA and eCanada to vote no.
