Day 2,191, 12:11 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Spite313

Dear friends,

We all knew it was a matter of time until Plato intervened to fix the alliance balance in erep, and now it has come. Plato is bringing in changes which will mean that countries under occupation get damage bonuses in proportion to length of occupation. This basically means that the non-TWO forces have been given a big advantage over TWO that TWO cannot counter. The age of big empires is over.

Deus ex machina at it’s finest

It’s sad the admin has had to interfere in this way to “fix” the game. We all know there is a problem with a single super-alliance, but we all hoped for a player led solution. If Plato had appeared on the battlefield fighting TWO and shooting big bombs out his a*se it would be just as biased- it’s yet another example of temporary solutions to long term problems. What’s more it’s unlikely to take down TWO, since the new danger has if anything forced the countries in TWO to co-operate more to survive.

We can expect the re-appearance of MKD, Bulgaria, Croatia, France etc soon, but other than RWs the damage still skews towards TWO. This broken move doesn’t even start from 0, it starts based on long term occupations. So if for example Serbia and Croatia took turns fighting each other, Serbia would face amplified Croat damage each time in their RWs, whereas Croatia would just face “vanilla” Serb damage. Because the bonus slowly decreases after a region is liberated, Serbia conquering regions back would only increase Croatia’s bonuses. You can see how this is going to cock things up.

Amazing how they manage to do it twice in a row isn’t it?
