Dear friends,
We all knew it was a matter of time until Plato intervened to fix the alliance balance in erep, and now it has come. Plato is bringing in changes which will mean that countries under occupation get damage bonuses in proportion to length of occupation. This basically means that the non-TWO forces have been given a big advantage over TWO that TWO cannot counter. The age of big empires is over.
Deus ex machina at it’s finest
It’s sad the admin has had to interfere in this way to “fix” the game. We all know there is a problem with a single super-alliance, but we all hoped for a player led solution. If Plato had appeared on the battlefield fighting TWO and shooting big bombs out his a*se it would be just as biased- it’s yet another example of temporary solutions to long term problems. What’s more it’s unlikely to take down TWO, since the new danger has if anything forced the countries in TWO to co-operate more to survive.
We can expect the re-appearance of MKD, Bulgaria, Croatia, France etc soon, but other than RWs the damage still skews towards TWO. This broken move doesn’t even start from 0, it starts based on long term occupations. So if for example Serbia and Croatia took turns fighting each other, Serbia would face amplified Croat damage each time in their RWs, whereas Croatia would just face “vanilla” Serb damage. Because the bonus slowly decreases after a region is liberated, Serbia conquering regions back would only increase Croatia’s bonuses. You can see how this is going to cock things up.
Amazing how they manage to do it twice in a row isn’t it?
Iain

Excellent Articles regarding the likely impact of recent updates to game mechanics.
Wrt the TWO hegemonic alliance I suspect this will make the empire work harder to remain cohesive; hopefully the eInternational community will 'work' together to once again establish a largely-symmetrical bi-polar dichotomy.
Finally, a hope for nations who refuse to cooperate with others! O glorious Plato, let me be the first to bend knee and suckle at your teat of ineptitude!
Not to mention that you've now removed the incentive of nations who don't have rich home provinces to go out, get BB and form empires.
Yes, airstrikes, moving capital etc...more strategy down the drain
Well, funny you should talk about TWO that way since you're a Citizen of the eUK and therefore also a member of TWO.
You're part of the problem, not the solution! 😉
BEHOLD! I am a citizen of the UK ergo I determine the future of 59 countries. Nope.
this is called poetic justice. When the admins were handing CoT on a platter to TWO, you didn't complain, more precisely you took advantage of it full-heartedly, now you cry like a little baby. Say thank you to the admins for breaking CoT before they took your popsicle away.
Truth of the matter is, they gave you as a parting gift a few million of our taxes, by implementing the "occupation" payoff, before these changes.
This should have been implemented long ago, but under a different system, the fact that they didn't listen again will lead to the abuse of this system soon enough.
How did admin hand us CoT? Explain please?
Incompetent people like you did that...
By creating "events", missions and "tournaments, which were expressly designed to favour TWO.
Before the "epic" event, CoT was winning 75% of the direct battles, had the initiative against both Serbia and Poland as well as Argentina at the same time. After the event started it won 2 direct battles for the next 10 days.
After the "event" was over, the missions came, where Serbia and Poland had to do 275 (55 a day for 5 days) and 238 (48 a day for 5 days) to gain the bonus energy recovery, while all of CoT were at 350+ (70+ a day for 5 days).
Romania was at 190 (3😎, the rest of TWO averaged around 250 (50)
Bulgaria was at 385 (77), Macedonia was 355 (72), USA 410 (82), Chile 400+, Indonesia 350+ and so on.
So after winning a couple of battle after the event was over, everything went back to endless TWO wins again for another 10 days, while the effects of the missions continued.
Then when everyone thought that we finally will be allowed to fight back, they brought the tournaments which created the endless and permanent TWO tuesdays, when TWO can recover any initiative it wants.
But why am I explaining all this to you, you're so competent you know it all. Unfortunately you like to take advantage of the admins bias when it is in your favour but cry when it is not.
I don't like either, but I fail to feel bad for you in this case.
TWO had more citizens and more damage. The epic event benefited countries with more citizens and more damage. You lost because you had less citizens and less damage. Not accepting that for months and months on end is why CoT was doomed. Go to egov and stick the countries in, compare the two alliances. TWO has twice the power, that's why they won. CoT refused to court new allies, TWO had no problem doing that.
You can't possibly compare that to giving big damage increases to fighting against empires (all of which are TWO). It's obvious to all that this is an attempt to "balance" the game crudely. The epic competitions and other such competitions were nothing of the sort.
I agree with Iain on this was. The game always favoured the more powerful in numbers and dmg. You can say maybe TWO has way more VISA players, has more taxes etc (which always scale with number of tax payers), but this is how the game works. Your only valid argument would have been that game mechanics fk up retention rate of your BBooms, which is the core problem of the game and ofc Plato's fault.....
No the epic event favoured countries from the european time zone, which is where most of TWO damage is concentrated.
But I regress, you don't care the game is biased you only care when it is biased against you.
@ CC1432
The retention problem was only one of the many, CoT had relatively equal numbers for a long time in the lower divisions.
As for the favouring of the powerful countries, it's not quite true. It was favouring certain strong countries, like the designer "gold" competitions early on and then the events and so on which again gave certain countries an advantage.
Truth of the matter is, Poland and Serbia are the strongest countries in the game, but they're not that far ahead of the pack as it seems from the e-gov statistics. The reason is that the "farm" oriented game that was created over time favoured the conglomeration of accounts and since when this process started and was implemented it was these two countries at the top and in the best position they received the vast amount of "migrants" who inflate their numbers daily.
Unfortunately the admins don't seem to want to learn from past mistakes or maybe don't want to, to begin with. By implementing the "tax" slavery in the moment they did, they created the same poisonous situation as the before. Remains to be seen what effect the other changes will have, but the "payoff" that was handed to TWO as a parting gift is another big advantage, but there seems to be no complaining about it....
Two has 2-3 times the strength of CoT

Sounds to me like someone needs to look in a mirror if they want to see a crybaby.

What will the percentage increase be per day of the 'Determination Bonus'?
Admins vs. TWO
MiauLOL
/me shakes head.
"It's magic." In a Paul Daniels voice. On loop.
🙁
You'll like this, not a lot, but you'll like it.
Horice 😛
sigh
As you stated above: "If Plato had appeared on the battlefield fighting TWO and shooting big bombs out his a*se it would be just as biased-"
If this is true then ePlato's interview where he stated that: "~50% of the paid staff play", is not "biased"
We should all unite and attack ePlato and eBukarest for what they have done to this game....V1 worked...."don't fix it if it ain't broke'....
So essentially... there will be little or no countries with 100/100% bonuses, consequently production drops and prices will rise? occupations will have to be strategic if at all... rising prices will result in a vastly different economic situation. and occupation will become far more valuable... or not, we will see.
no it just means no more farmrepublik, hence why ian the farmer is ragging so.
Thanks for that insightful analysis
Interesting,we will see how it turns out in the end
First the question is how big determination bonus,is it so big that 20 RL player country can beat 1000 RL player countries?
If it so then there will be no need anymore to make Babybooms. Also game can stuck into stalemate if keeping regions will be impossible anymore. No serious wars or anything everybody just sitting at their core regions.
From all the informations there is there will be no limit to the bonus occupied country can get so yeah, depending on how long occupation lasted 20 people will be able to beat 1000 at some point of time...
well a region will be RW'd certain bonuses are lost next day comes the NE law , again the region is conquered the other day it'll be RW'd and on and on , player will spend more money in the game.
at least the 10/10 TWO bonuses won't be stable anymore and maybe the game won't be this boring who knows..
Expect that if rules making impossible to keep a region occupied then no point in invading,no point fighting no point to do anything beside sitting on core regions.
not as simple as that, 25% of Serbian damage and 205 of Polish damage is farmers damage, from foreign accounts sitting on Serbian and Polish CS for the bonuses, the bonuses will be now gone in essence, because they have become too expensive to keep and so will that damage after a while.
When that damage goes back to where it came from the era of the empires will come to an end. Actually only China and Greece have a chance at high bonuses and empires now, because of the extremely weak neighbours, Greece however has also strong neighbours so their own farmrepublik will soon come to an end.
As for China, well they will continue to be the worlds farm like usual.
You might add Poland as well to that list.
as I said no stable 10/10 anymore
TWO's domination was possible only because of admin's bad game mechanics that were implemented after V1.
It's bad for the game that gods have to interfere to make it playable, but it's also necessary.
TWO can't complain same as you couldn't complain that stupid MPP rule gave you everything you wanted.
Players could create gamevonly when itvis balanced (mechanics not alliances) , but that's long gone and saddly there's no way back.
TWO did what it did because it used changes that were made in the game while others refused to do the same.
I mean, EDEN at one point tried to do that when invited eTurkey. Results were seen on every battlefield. That was time when EDEN used rules to gain advantage over ONE at the time. On other side how it was managed so it didn't persist as long as TWO sucssed to do is other story...
If you follow history you will see that dominant alliance was one that was using rules to gain certain advantage.
Same rules were applied to everyone so everyone had same cards to play with. Mechanics as they are (broken or not) were same to everyone....
Now this last changes are something totally different.
They don't apply to everyone and they actually spit in the face to all countries that tried to bring people to play this game.
Been telling you for years that alliance building is pointless, everything you build destroys previous things you have built as countires join and leave.
Now let's have some real long term relationships with countries (like we used to) instead of grouping with the flavour of the month big countries.
Real long term relations? Serbia, Hungary, Slovenia, Lithuania, to name but a few. others like Poland are hardly "new". What are you even talking about
Macedonia. Romania. Argentina.
Best friends one day, mortal enemies the next, friends again years later.
Nobody gave a sh*t about Lithuania and maybe Slovenia until recently.
Are you joking about Poland? Did you forget the "junior" trolling?
so you are saying you dislike change on the international scene? And how long is 'long-term'?
Thee is no point tanking all out for a country if we are going to tank the other way in a few months.
Long term means forever if possible. There must be a middle ground between that and the current "sacrifice all for temporary allies".
Always negative. Bring some solutions to the table Iain. Anyone can cry, funny coming from a player who doesn't even fight.
As opposed to fighting against the UK? I don't need to justify myself to you lol
