Dear friends,

Another day in eRepublik, and around the world another seventy or so presidents have been elected. This time, I was one of them. I’d like to thank everyone who voted for me for their support. To those who didn’t: I will try to be your president this month as well. Please be supportive, please be part of our community, please help make the eUK a country to be proud of.

I’m going to keep today’s article brief, because many of you have probably grown tired of seeing my paper these past few days. Some of my international readers will have grown tired of reading about politics. Going forward, I plan to write a weekly update article to give my personal reflections on events. There will also be regular weekly articles from certain key ministries for you to read.

I have now finalised my government, which is going to be a little larger than James’ but still keeping to the core roles:

Prime Minister: Arrlo. Arrlo is a former UK President… and former everything by this point. He started out in the Ministry of Finance and has always been one of our most trustworthy players. Although he has at times flown foreign flags from his mainmast, he is currently with us here in the eUK and I intend to make use of his talents. He will be heading up the government as my Vice President.

Minister of Defence: Paul Tyndale. Paul has a wealth of experience in the game, he’s active and he’s involved. He has agreed to step up and guide the MoD through this month. Helping him will be former MoD and good guy Dave Trenga, and expert aéronautique français rems2a. If anyone wants to get involved in the MoD or simply needs some advice, drop Paul a message. He doesn’t bite.

Minister of Education: Talon Karrde. Talon is a veteran with experience at all levels of the game, but he started out working in player education and he knows a thing or two about instructing the young. Talon is going to be helped out by a team of new players who will be learning the ropes.

Minister of Foreign Affairs: Mr Immanuel Kant. MIK has a fair bit of experience guiding underpowered nations through tough times, and hopefully he can bring that experience to the eUK. He will also have a team of new players working with him as part of the refounded ambassador program. The role of ambassadors will be to promote the eUK’s good image through the world, including in countries we are not close to presently.

Minister of Finance: Huey George. Huey is an absolutely irreplaceable institution of the eUK. He has been running the books for so long and so well he is a natural choice for any government. I'm really pleased he agreed to work with us once again.

Although he is not taking a formal role in my government as he needs some time to step back and recharge his batteries, our resident Minister of Bold jamesw will of course be present as an advisor to ensure a smooth transition. After so many months in charge, there is a lot of handover to do.

Applications

We currently have about a dozen players earmarked for roles (mostly in the Ministry of Education or Ministry of Foreign Affairs). However there is always room for more. If you’re interested in joining the government please feel free to message me, or one of the ministers above directly. No prior experience required- you just have to be keen!

Thank you again,

Iain
