I am pleased to announce the launch of the eCanadian Mentor Program today after the eCanadian Mentor Act was passed by congress with a unanimous YES vote.
eCanadian Mentor Program Act
The purpose of the act is to provide direct support to new players in the way of experienced mentors.
Mentors
Selection-
Each MU that receives funding from the government of eCanada is encouraged to provide at least two mentors to the program at all times although participation is not mandatory.
Mentors from outside the MU's will also be accepted.
Duties-
Mentors will be allocated to new players and are to make themselves available to answer any and all questions either by pm or on IRC.
Mentors will also, where provided by the MU, government or other source, provide material support to their assigned player.
Mentors will be responsible for their assigned player/s for two weeks.
Mentors may recruit the player/s to their MU however this will not relieve them of their duty.
Program Management
The program will be controlled and monitored by a Director of Mentors (DoM), as appointed by the CP, using whatever assistants they require.
The DoM will be responsible for monitoring the program to ensure that the new players are receiving the support they require.
The DoM will be required to make a monthly report to congress to advise the progress of the program.
Addy has bestowed upon me the honour of being the first Director of Mentors along with the responsibility of getting the program off the ground. Helping new players is something I feel strongly about and I look forward to making this a success.

I call on anyone interested in becoming a mentor to fill out the Mentor Sign Up Form.
New players
Any new players wishing to sign up for the program should fill out the New Player Sign Up Form

I signed up now give me someone to corrupt, I mean mentor.
Burb - I'm too old for this ... I mean I'd like to have fairly new citizens signing up too since we need both the wisdom of SAWC, Rylde and others on gameplay, and the wisdom of fairly newcitizens about the things that the new generation is facing with construction program and such.
If there is a shortage of old butts that are doing this anyway on daily basis, sign me up!

We've also had our first new player sign up to the program.

Woohoo it comes to life. Do I have to know anything about the game to sign up? Maybe I need mentoring still. Can I sign up for both?
