The eAustralian forums

Day 2,737, 02:40 Published in Australia Canada by Ilene Dover

Hello people of eAustralia. While talking with my party recently it was brought to my attention that the off-game forum and IRC channel is not well-known.

For the sake of connecting with as many people in one go as possible, I'll explain things here.

There have been at least two major off-game forums used in eAustralia's history. Only one remains available (i.e. still hosted) with active admins. That is, forumotion. Whatever hangups you may or may not have with the place in the past, it is the only out-of-game forum available. If you don't like clicking article links (don't blame you), the URL is http://auserep.forumotion.org/

You don't like it? Well, build an alternative... Maybe volunteer your time as an admin to improve the design, if you've got the skills. Don't let a desire for some perfect system (or a rose-coloured view of the past) influence something we can work with now and improve as we go.

If you visit the forum, this is the homepage:

Hit the register button. It's circled in blue in that picture. The whole thing is free, so don't stress.

To make everyone's life easier, use the same forum account name as your ERepublik citizen name.

Once you've made an account, drop on by and say G'day. 🙂

By far the neatest feature of the site is it's easy browser link to IRC. (IRC is a 90's and naughties chat program that pre-dates ICQ and MSN.)

Click on the IRC link near the top. Just here:

It will open a new browswer tab (if you have mibbit, or mIRC, or any of the other IRC programs you can ignore this advice). Put in your ERepublik username into the box. Hit enter and be taken to a chat window where various zombies and demons lurk... This works even on my worn out PC running IE11. It will work on your no-doubt awesome and spankingly excellent machine.

Type in the box below. Wait for replies. Talk, make friends and have fun! 🙂

I hope to see at least some of you in there soon.
