The Death of Chris Stanwick

Once upon a time in a world untouched by the Great War of 2009, Chris Stanwick was born in Texas. He quickly rose to prominence in the United States becoming a businessman, politician, and military officer. Joining the State Department, he worked his way up to be the Deputy Secretary of State when the Great War began in mid-July. However, his ambition was cut short by poor decisions that resulted in his becoming an outcast rather than an adviser. Chris moved to Ireland then Australia, becoming the Minister of Foreign Affairs in October before being felled by RL health problems. Since mid-October, he has become the ghost of his former self, rarely being found online and not having made a forum post in nearly a month. While the RL Stanwick is slowly recovering his strength, the eRepublik Stanwick is dying.

I have enjoyed my time in the New World, especially making new friends that otherwise I would never have met. While I didn't fulfill the goals I set for myself, I am satisfied that I accomplished enough. I am ready for my character's death. I'll be around for a few days more to say goodbye to friends, then fade away permanently. A few months ago, I wouldn't have thought it possible to leave eRepublik as it is highly addictive, but my brush with death has taught me that there are more important things in life than fictional online worlds. I will miss you all.
