The Courage to Say No

Day 722, 14:34 Published in Italy Poland by Battle Kitten

Today some of you in the world received a surprise announcement from the nation of Italy. They have voted to leave PEACE and pursue a more neutral stance on the world stage. This news is notable and exciting for a variety of different reasons. Italy was one of the founding members of PEACE and has been with it from the beginning. Secondly, is the justification of Italy for leaving PEACE. According to them, the "goals for some of our allies are no longer relevant, a part of the old spirit of the alliance has been eroded and corrupted".

While pledging "unconditional support to our closest allies and all those who supported us when the eItaly needed for help", they also recognize that the driving force behind PEACE's goals are no longer the voices of the collective PEACE nations as a whole, but the irrational and imperialistic voice of a few. These countries that once claimed to be a loyal ally of Italy abandoned them when they were PTO'ed and then turned PEACE from a defensive alliance into an imperialistic war monger willing to eradicate even the most harmless nations from the map.

While loyalty is a valuable attribute to have, I also recognize the bravery and determination of Italy and all other nations whether they be in PEACE or EDEN to stand against PEACE GC oppression and tell them NO MORE!! Italy realizes that the quest for wealth and territories has far less value than having friends on the world stage. They have the courage to be one of the first nations to raise their voice against the currently imperialistically controlled PEACE and say "NO!! we will no longer support your goals!!" In doing this, they have put themselves at great risk for retaliation from those who do not share their line of thinking. The United States and all other freedom loving nations around the globe hope this is the beginning of a trend that reaches to every PEACE nation with a conscience. You no longer have to be a part of an alliance that serves only the powerful and those seeking wealth. New friends can be made, even with old enemies.

I want to at this time to reiterate my previous statement to all countries dissatisfied with their current allegiance to PEACE. The United States is willing to sit down and talk with all of you and seek a peaceful resolution to our differences. We bear no ill will to any nation that joined any alliance to seek protection. We will however, continue to fight against the Hungarians and all other PEACE nations that pose a threat to us or our allies around the globe. Once again we commend the people of Italy and hope that this will lead to better relations between our peoples.
