The Coalition Manifesto

Citizens of the United Kingdom. I Final Destiny the former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and the candidate put forward by the coalition of the Peoples Communist Party, The Unity Party, The Movement for Democratic Unity, The Free-Thinking Party and of course The Right Party, have been given the great privilege of revealing our Manifesto for the February 5th Election. I encourage you not only to read this one but that of my UKRP rival Jerry. I want you to make an informed choice above all else. Though with the conflict in the forums and in the media. I remind everyone to keep an open mind and judge both me and Jerry by both what we promise to do, What we have achieved, How much we have been tested as politicians and people, Our failings and most of all our potential. There has been a lot of tension like most elections and though I remember a simpler time when things were actually less heated, I still believe that despite this fiery debate and discussion the United Kingdom has a strong community and great members. No matter who wins this election I just hope that we can keep this community strong and welcome more new faces into it. I’ve been part of Erepublik for over a year and despite a skint in Ireland to help them overcome the horrors of the Romanian takeover. I have been here in the UK some shape or form. I have watched us evolve and I am still proud to of helped shape this nations History. I hope to once again win your trust and earn my second mandate. Without you I can’t do it. Now enough of my usual preamble and on to the Manifesto of the coalition.

Society and Politics: Helping the community grow and develop.

The Department of Entertainment

This one comes directly from Big Boy Bulley and the MDU and we all agreed in the coalition that this should be included in our Manifesto. Now we are all aware that this is a social game am I correct? If you are sat their reading this thinking “No this is just a way to burn myself a few minutes with some enjoyable trivia questions.” Then you are missing out on the best part of living in the United Kingdom. The community found at Erepublik.co.uk. I compare the Department of Entertainment purposed here to something that the Former USA President Nave formed back after moral was low after the Canadian-USA War. (Correct me if I’m wrong on my facts here Dish. Though I’m sure I don’t need to ask you to do that. 😉 ). The DoE will be responsible for the organisation of all the fun games that we can take part in. Leagues and Tournaments will be set-up and the Department will be given a budget for Prize Money. It will advertise ingame as well as on the forums. Working with other fun activities such as Bookies and Lotteries to improve your Erepublik Entertainment experience. We’ll even throw in the bearded lady (Ok it’s Relic in a wig.)

Activity

Lately this is slipping. I want us all to lead by example at getting the word out about the forums and IRC. We need links in ALL important articles. Congressmen must pick up the slack and message their citizenry about the forums. General Managers must start making an effort as well. Everyone needs to pull their weight on this. Admittedly this is not really a policy more a rallying cry to everyone to start contributing to the community. It can be an intimidating place at times but really all those people arguing are just pussy cats really deep down.

Feeling Bloated?

Even for a bureaucratic nut like myself the number of Ministries is rather bloated. We must look at creating Departments rather than a new Ministry for this a new Ministry for that. These Departments will still be run by Ministers but I’m hoping to get rid of the titles of “Under-Minister” as that implies they don’t have power to do much to change things. There will still be plenty of Government jobs and apprenticeships going. There will just be more working together to get things done.


Reassurance

As co-founder of The Unity Party. I will not have us go back to the dark ages when Ministers were appointed because they voted a certain way. Be you UK Reform or a member of the Coalition that voted me into power, You will be judged on merit and merit alone. The best man or woman for the job regardless of Political Affiliation. I started this tradition in UK Politics. I will continue to practice it. The Cabinet is about the best men and women to get the work done. Not to please all parties I will not seek to have this person in that place to please PCP or this person in that place to please UKRP. Merit alone.

Transparency

As Prime Minister in June. I always published my weekly report. I intent to better that and do even more regular reports. Even if there is nothing to report I’ll release an article just so the citizens can ask me questions in public. I started this back in June so I guess I best continue it. It’s always great to hear from the public and gauge their opinion. In these reports I’ll expect to be giving you news from all Ministries on the latest developments. If there are none after a certain amount of time. That Minister will be getting the old boot up the arse I used to give Mayors as Regional Council President. (Good times.)

The Economy: A Fair Economy for the UK Citizenry.

The Coalition is made up of largely left leaning politicians. So as you can expect we will have some good old PCP ideas in this Manifesto. Along with my own principles I’ve been taught by my former Vice-President Jasperking taking a pragmatic approach to the economy is always best. The market is great and all but the Government should always keep a watchful eye for failings and unjust actions against the consumer and workers.

Skilled Workers

A PCP proposal for you. The Skilled Workers are to be made up of highly skilled workers. That will deploy to certain industries when they are in need. As we saw in the War with France our markets are fragile when they need to be strong. This scheme should see people working for the good of the country in times of need.

Stockpiles

During peacetime we must always have a good stockpile of emergency supplies. Just in case the worst comes and we have to go to war against our foes. It’ll be much cheaper for the taxpayer to buy these precautions now at a reasonable price. If executed correctly it should save us relying on the unstable war time markets where mass profiteering happens. At least for a little while longer than usual.

A Recommended Retail Price

The Ministry of Trade will formulate and update on a regular basis a RRP. This will be published by the Ministry of Information and the Ministry of Trade on a daily basis in-game. Though it may not force companies to follow them it will educate the consumer and hopefully the companies will respond to this. If we can ensure at least a few more General Managers become responsible I’ll call this policy a success.

Need to know more about running a Company?

Then we have just the thing for you. A training program in running a Company by the Department for Work. You will sign a contract and actually get to manage a company for a set period of time. As well as get tips of experienced General Managers on how to be a responsible GM and a successful one. Helping your fellow citizens have fairly priced goods and making yourself a profit in the process.



General Managers Council

Just like we used to have a General Managers Forum before. I want all GMs to talk with each other and ensure their prices are responsible and do not go out of control. Be that too low or too high. I believe the best way to deal with this is communication. If that fails then the Government as a last resort can step in to help the responsible companies with Tax refunds. We have done so in the past it’s time to revive it.


Budget

With all these schemes that will be running there is a danger that things will get out of control. So from now on every penny must be counted Far too much money is being spent without knowledge of what this money will be used for. With every request of money from the Bank of England, a Minister or Congressman will have to outline a detailed budget on what the money will be spent on. Ideally, each Ministry will have a monthly budget and they cannot request for more than that budget unless it is classed as an “emergency” (a war occurring for example).

Homing the Homeless

Congress is already and most likely after this is published well on the way to getting the Houses in Royal Housing to be given to Congressmen upon request for Homing the Homeless. They will be required to earn their house though by winning contests and taking part in other activity drives. We will look to continue rewarding the active citizenry that make the effort with a roof over their head. Making them even more productive while working in their companies.

Raw Materials

Once again I think that we should look at not only sponsoring British companies to export cheap Raw Materials to the United Kingdom, but also look at offering these incentives to other allied nationals so long as their Government would agree to do the same for our GM’s. Think of it as a Trade Deal i.e: You supply us with lots of Wood we will export you a Hospital.

Foreign Affairs: Time for more action! Time for the UK to stand for what is right again!

Stance on ATLANTIS

Anyone who knows me knows I am not a big fan of the Super Alliances. The actions of Romania in Russia and rumours of Spain having a bite a France. I for one am ashamed of these actions and that the United Kingdom just turns a blind eye. Though this is not new. I’ve seen it happen before when Ireland our closest ally and friend from the Northern Alliance was taken over by Victor and his band of Romanian Rogues. I rallied the cry to help our friends. In the end the UK took a neutral stance. I still managed to send aid with my Spears of Destiny. The damage is still evident to this day in Ireland. From that moment I swore that I would find a way to stop small countries being treated like this. So I got this to say about ATLANTIS you better be ready to reform and say sorry for the acts you have done in the past. I’ve got this to say to PEACE you are no better than ATLANTIS both Super Alliances are guilty of at the very least turning a blind eye to political coups and unjust actions.

Stance on a European “Social” Alliance (Community)

I’ll be honest I’m more one for a Global effort against takeovers but if Europe can come together and form a Union of sorts against such acts and negotiate disputes over territorial claims. Then I’ll be for allowing Squiddy to at least try and form his European Community that he has been working hard on. I will however not allow another Super Alliance to be born that will split the world in two. The World is better taking a more pragmatic view of allies. Yes conflicts will still happen wouldn’t be fun without them. They will however be fair and their will not be tampering with our countries democratic elections.

International Summit

Linked with above I’d like to look to solve the disputes of the World. With this summit that will discuss the Freedom of occupied nations like Israel, Greece and Russia to name but a few. I do not expect it to solve our problems or bring “Peace in our time.” I do however wish to give Diplomacy a try before drawing the sword against our foes. As you have guessed the flavour of my Foreign Policy is to try and end Political Takeovers. I will use my contacts around the globe to try make this happen. It is my main ambition to end these unjust abuses of game mechanics. If the Admins will not WE MUST. Rogue groups and Nations are spoiling this game for the smaller nations. Ireland, Russia, Greece and many others have been targets for these groups. The World must say NO to them.

Military:

Due to national security I will never reveal sensitive Military data. However I promise to make sure the Uk Military is well supplied, well trained in combat especially the Paras under a certain rank. I want more to sign up for the Navy and an Anti-Takeover Force formed that I hope will be mimicked the world over so we can take our united front against these rouge groups.

The Military will never be used for conquest under my term in Office. I have no interest in another “War on PEACE and lulz” I never have. (I have in the past joked about it but know it’s never a good idea.) Unless there is truly justification for conquest. Which there rarely is.

Conclusion

I hope you enjoyed reading this Manifesto and I hope that you also enjoy reading Jerry’s. No doubt there will now be a debate in the comments between the UKRP and The Coalition. I remind everyone to treat their opponents with civility. I say in vain hope that you will listen.

I wish for you to give me the mandate I need to bring about change in not just the United Kingdom but the way the whole World acts. Am I being ambitious? Yes. Will this be difficult? Very. Will we make mistakes? Defiantly. Will I be a Perfect Prime Minister? No. I will however give you my very best this month. You will Finally see the very best of Final Destiny. I have a goal and I need to see it through so that Erepublik will be better for us all again.

So I hope that you will consider me when you cast your vote.
