First, an excerpt from the S.E.E.S.Party newspaper, The Midnight Channel, dated Sept 12 and titled SEES Update - Rainy Sunday: The Next Grand Vizer

Quote:
Recently, there have been some elements in the United States who have a problem with our party and the way we conduct ourselves. I would like to direct them to an excerpt from our third bylaw: “With your enemies, make them regret ever having crossed your path. Hound them like a dog out of hell, and never let up. Always bite to break skin, and never show mercy. Mercy is weakness, and a clever enemy will take advantage of it.” Ideally, SEES would like to pursue our foreign enemies and continue to help strengthen the United States. Domestic strife and personal vendettas have not allowed for this lately, and have proven to be harmful to the nation. When there is unhealthy dissent in the United States, enemies are able to sneak in; this presents a direct threat to the stability of our nation. However, certain grandstanding Americans have attempted to make their name in politics by incorrectly interpreting our goals and what we stand for. As far as we can tell, it is merely to further their own names. This is happening to the detriment of our country.

The way we conduct ourselves
"Make them regret ever having crossed your path.
Hound them like a dog out of hell, and never let up."

Sounds like bullying.. sounds like street thug gang beatdown, by orders from the top.
Which is the only aspect of how SEES conducts themselves that I have consistently taken exception to.
Which is covered in my "mantra" where I ask every player what kind of leadership they want, what kind of players they wish to associate themselves with.

Domestic strife and personal vendettas
The diatribe goes on to pin the blame for increased domestic strife-- the ongoing Pizza saga-- on me, as if my activities are such a distraction that SEES has been unable to save America, again. But SEES is sending their most devout Dioists to Pakistan, they're not staying here to put in the fullest effort to save America from Pizza.
The personal vendetta has been against me, not by me-- I'm not the one engaging in incessant trolling, utilizing a cadre of obedient servants, to purposely set about and cause the destruction of a player or a Party.
I posted that I was conceding the pointless feud, yet the personal attacks continue. The Party newsletter, otherwise announcing forward motion and progressiveness, contains a substantial segment specifically instructing the membership to keep up the attacks.

Certain grandstanding Americans
Yep, that's me.. the guy who had not played one bit of politics in the first year of my game, being called grandstanding by professional politicians and power players. Again, I don't give a crap what you stand for, my objection is and has been to your bullying. Now, if that's all you stand for, then maybe you're right.
I had my own name and reputation before I came into your radar, I don't need to prop myself up by association with your kind. I don't need a Congress seat, or a political Party, or a private Militia, or an army of adoring minions to command, to have a personality and character.

To the detriment of our country
As for being bad for America... they seem quite amused by the show.
"Bad for America" would be if I ran for SEES Party President and distracted from the effort to unseat Ajay from his Napoleonic throne. Maybe you need him and his antics, to maintain an air of uber-patriotism for yourselves.
I don't need either of you, SEES or Ajay, to play a clean game of my own. I'd just as soon return to playing Soldier, and occasional publishing mediocre propaganda and patriotic fluff pieces, if I might be allowed to do so in peace.

Character assassination, scapegoating and bullying are what's bad for America.
Any time you're ready to stop this crap... any time...
I've been trying to call it off, but I won't just lie down and continue to be kicked.

Psych 101
I'm sure somewhere among all the bright young minds here in eRepublik.. all the college boys, maybe one of the old farts has some formal Psychology education.. see if you can bear me out on this amateur analysis in my common manner of expression.
Small people.. and I mean in the sense of weak in personal character.. small people often make themselves feel big by belittling others.
These people can't brag about themselves, they lack such amazing personal qualities that anyone can really be truly proud of.. so they look for the weak ones in their group, or in another group, or pick one individual out of the herd, and screw with them. They'll band together and form a club, call themselves tough, and in a gang they are tough.
But individually... you see the true strength of character..or lack thereof..
When they can't let someone concede a fight and walk away.
When they blame someone else for their own shortcomings.
When they show up to piss on a memorial in all caps.
This is when you see the true character of the individual. And you must think about the group they represent, or lead, or even associate themselves with.

“With your enemies, make them regret ever having crossed your path. Hound them like a dog out of hell, and never let up. Always bite to break skin, and never show mercy. Mercy is weakness, and a clever enemy will take advantage of it.”

People like this are weak.. weak of character.
People like this band together and fight dirty in order to be strong.

There's a psych term for this.. it's a complete category of personality type. One of my readers must know this stuff, I'd love to see the right words and maybe a reference in some fancy shrink book about it.

Custer's Mantra

What kind of game do you play, what kind of players do you like to align yourself with?
What kind of leaders do you want, what kind of leadership do you expect of them?
What kind of country do you want to "live" in and play for?
