The Chaos Theory

Day 694, 09:53 Published in Romania Romania by Augustus Maximus

Lately all the discussions in Erepublik have revolved around one subject: “we want war!” & “war is not an option right now we will surely lose”. The two sides have valid arguments: the warmongers want to have fun (It’s just a game that is what we are supposed to do), on the other hand the prudent side just point to the cold numbers, which clearly show the winning side in the case the opposition has the “balls” to push the button.

Well I thing the solution is the introduction of one simple function: random(). That would mean that RupeTot would give a damage of X, where X is not only dependent of his strength, but also of “luck”, represented by the random function. Imagine the new war module with a PvP capability and the new “luck” factor: a mighty Field Marshall taken out by a Colonel. That would make things interesting.

PS. The systems studied by the branch of mathematics called Chaos Theory, only appear to be random, in fact they all are deterministic. 🙂 In the case of Erepublik the random fights were tanks are taken out would affect both sides, bringing things to the same conclusion.

PPS Hai Romania! Sa vedem daca fara functia random() din nationala (Mutu), putem invinge adversarii nostrii de “calibru”.
