The Champion of Feudalism
Reiji Mitsurugi
全盛期 の 中頃 まで 日本 が 封建国家 であった ことは、 よくしられている
Soldiers, friends, colleagues and citizens of the Great Japanese Empire, we here at the Taishou (that is, me, Reiji Mitsurugi) have just been made aware of a terrible new threat festering in our nation. That, dear soldiers, is the threat of feudalism.
尊王攘夷!
It sounds like madness, and truly the idea itself is indeed madness, but the fact of the matter is that there truly is a rebellious organization, pulling together support for a feudal structure in our glorious Modern Japan. Without care for the Righteous Nation or the Harmonious Society, these people have already begun proclaiming themselves this and that.
It is with concern for their statements and my concern for the people of Japan that I presently warn you about these reactionaries. I direct you, first and foremost, to one Yoshiteru Ashikaga. No doubt a nom de guerre, taken after 足利 義輝, the 16th century Shogun. Ashikaga has been quoted as saying: “I am already the Shogun” and “The Shogun demands your respect” in recent days. He has even gone so far as to declare himself the 'First Shogun of the Ashikaga Shogunate' on our national forum. His statement, Declaration of the start of the Ashikaga Shogunate has already been read by countless citizens.
彼 の 無知 には 驚いた!
It is therefore my duty, as your elected representative in the Imperial Diet and as your appointed Minister of Interior Affairs, that the Minamoto Government does not in any way sanction the actions of Mr. Ashikaga. His organization is a rogue, Disharmonious Element and shall be treated as such.
尊皇討奸!
That Mr. Ashikaga had the gall to make his declaration right in the midst of the Imperial Diet's voting on the adoption of a constitution for the Empire is equally shocking. Ashikaga declared his backward, feudal autocracy during one of the most momentous occasions in Japanese history. No doubt this is not a coincidence.
We offer to Yoshiteru Ashikaga one final chance for amnesty. Renounce your backward-thinking claims of shogunate feudalism, rally beneath the imperial banner and send your followers home. Otherwise, we here at the Taishou (that is, me, Reiji Mitsurugi) will oppose you and your autocratic aspirations at every turn. Surrender, Ashikaga. Your Bakufu is already dead.

I find it hypocritical that you want a citizen to play as Emperor but this guy can't play at Shogun. I suppose the fact that it isn't your idea probably doomed it to be railed against by yourself. His idea causes no harm and is just a bit of RP fun whilst yours has dangerous implications for anyone outside the loop.

lol
What's dangerous is reactionary feudalism.
Agreed! This could be a fraud from the Theocrats to infiltrate Japan...
A devious plan indeed... I never trust new player... they have too many projects, and can't be trusted until they earn it; as active citizens, or by helping to community...
Give the guy a break. He's just injecting some flavour into the game. If you want to ignore him do so. Either way, whatever he does or says won't hurt the way you play the game.
Give him a break and we'll all be stuck in the rice fields, giving half our livelihood to some ignorant daimyo waiting for the next war to fill his coffers!
yawn....
What's going to be next Reiji?
Maybe I should start publishing the "Threat to Our Nation of the Day"
I LOL'd at that Reiji. We may rarely agree (if ever!) but eJapan would be a poorer place without you.

Voted. This was a fun article and a good read. Plus, every tale needs a villain.
>Agreed! This could be a fraud from the Theocrats to infiltrate Japan...
HOW DARE YOU ASSOCIATE ME WITH THEOCRATIC FILTH! I am a Dioist, not some pathetic "theocrat".
I shall also have you know that I decalred my support for the new constitution, but now I may have to reconsider my decision.

"Give the guy a break. He's just injecting some flavour into the game. If you want to ignore him do so. Either way, whatever he does or says won't hurt the way you play the game."
No1Kevlin, I would say the same to you about your staunch resistance to Reiji's plans.
I've read the Constitution and it has game affecting points, all unenforceable of course but they are there nonetheless.
I've asked my congressman to oppose it.
Well read and said Del-Boy!
By all means lets have a figurehead non-player Emperor and maybe even a constitution if it gets redrafted but as it stands I can't support it.
If a certain group introduces "flavor" into the game via make-believe positions or holidays, it's considered beneficial for Japan and people in opposition are traitors. If anybody outside that group introduces "flavor" into the game via make-believe positions or holidays, it's a threat to Japan. We saw it with the opposition to HIZUMI and his idea for an emperor, then the sudden introduction of Empress Day and the continued references to it despite the claim it was a joke. We're seeing it here, with the attacks on this supposed Shogunate and and the subsequent push for an Emperor. There's need to be consistency in beliefs and actions.
Down with this pretender! All enemies of the Emperor will die!
I do not seek to be an enemy of the Emperor, more of a protector.

>HOW DARE YOU ASSOCIATE ME WITH THEOCRATIC FILTH! I am a Dioist, not some pathetic "theocrat".
That doesn't exactly give proof for us to trust you, after all, theocrats are a branch of the Dioists.
Indeed, the theocrats are followers of the false Dio
I can't believe you're using ware and watakushi at the same time.. 😃
I think this time it is much better thought out. When Hizumi brought it up he was just trying to gain power, and he did by declaring himself emperor. Now it is much better proposed and turning down the effort that Reiji has put into the project is just silly.
Also please keep in mind that when Hizumi was around I was one of the people yelling 'IMPEACH AKKI' so I actually wasn't part of the 'old guard' at that time. So to suggest opposition gets nowhere and is just called a traitor is also silly.
Yes, you were opposed to HIZUMI's idea of the emperor, and then shortly after you declared yourself Empress. You claimed it was all part of the joke, yet you and others continue to reference it. How is that not hypocrisy at its best? The fact is there is a group of people in Japan who feel it's their right to make things up for the sake of the "community" yet will criticize anybody else who does the same thing. It's pure hypocrisy.
And the last point - "to to suggest opposition gets nowhere and is just called a traitor is also silly" - you want to see where I was called a traitor and worse by your friends? Is it only important to you when it's leveled against people you like? Or just a case of selective memory?
Why am I not surprised that 'Miyamoto Musashi' supports the feudalists?
Did you get your nom de guerre from them as well? How long before you start demanding tribute from your serfs?
The people of the Great Japanese Empire have little patience for your backward-thinking ways, Miyamoto. Stand aside and let progress through, lest you be crushed by it!
Where did I say I support them? My point is you and others readily criticize others for doing the same things you do yourself. I could care less about this supposed Shogunate, but I hold it in the same regard as your supposed Empreror. If you are going to introduce make-believe things into the eJapan, don't criticize others for doing the same. Or is that too hard for you to understand?
And as far as the rest... Just typical Reiji hypocritical bluster - "I'm a Japanese gentleman", yeah right. Be honest with yourself, either follow these values that you write about or give up the facade.
