The Campaign on Flanders, an article for our friends

Day 1,969, 04:09 Published in Belgium Belgium by NicknameFromRonny
This article is created as a thank you to all the warriors who have supported our nation so far, who are battling for eBelgium right now and who will stand by our side in the near future. Thank you. If you’re a battle hero and your image is not included, my apologies, I could not find a thumbnail from it, don't hesitate to send it to me.

Edit: for non-Belgians trying to get a hang of the city names used, check the map below in the article. Flanders is the northern part of Belgium, and the attack from France was initiated from the West.

Battle 1: Battle of Kortrijk

The Campaign on Flanders started when the French intruder crossed the border near Menen. After their cowardly war declaration, the Belgians had taken some precautions, but such a quick attack was kind of non-expected. The French quickly came in front of the gates from Kortrijk, located in the south of western Flanders.

Our first division, led out by Zanson, was no match for their opponents but with the help of the Mexican brigade, the fast rush from the French was slowed down. Thanks to Luis Estrella, Sergio Inurreta, Omar Delgado (Mex) and ADYL (Pol).

Near the fields of Bissegem, our second division crossed its weapons with the French opponents. Mexicans, Chileans and Belgians battled side by side, but it was not enough to hold back the intruders. Nonetheless, we thank battle hero xxpeluzaxx (Mex), Zangetsu-Osan, Brainbust (Bel), SiegfriedVR and Gonzot (Chi).

The battle for Kortrijk itself was delivered by the fourth division. Despite being outnumbered, as all of our divisions are, they did everything humanly possible to withhold. Special remarks go to our CP, Alexandross, who showed the way for his compatriots, battle hero Olv007 and Boer Jan. With foreign help from JCLabbe and Dhoo (thank you guys), they only had to give in in the end.

Nonetheless, the battle for Kortrijk was not a disaster for Belgium, since a further rush towards the centre of Flanders was avoided by the third division. Led by our Chilean friend Llillo, we captured those needed points. Also thanks to the Mexicans Dart Magus, Alein2001 and Dormillones; and to world traveller Sisk.

Battle 2: Battle of Ypres

With a further rush into the land avoided, the attack got diverted towards Ypres.

Our first division once again had to take the first punch, a tough job to do. Helped by Mexican friends Ana Benitez, Omar Delgado, linkmask & Espartano, our own youngster Kleeto became a battle hero. A loss, but one with honour.

The second division guarded the Menenpoort and got buried in the cannons from the French. Nonetheless we saw a heroic Naxxo Lopez, aided by Chileans (OCIO52, Chriskham, Kondor Negro) and Mexicans (Rami20).

In the streets of Ypres, a dirty war of close encounters developed. Russo-Bulgarian The Judge Hari did extraordinary things. Japanese Squibeel was fundamental. MrWorldwide, V1pera and mcardielo aided Belgium in fantastic manners, but we had to give Ieper up.

Once again, it was our Chilean friend Llillo who saved the day. Leading American Artlin, Chileans Kensan, Sysiphos & Biomatu, they managed to hold back the French near Diksmuide, which gave us the time to strengthen our forces near Bruges.

Battle 3: Battle of Bruges

The forces from our third division had given us some extra time to set up defences. The night was falling, an advantage due to our great and loyal allies from across the ocean.

This time, it were our friends from the fourth division who took the first punch. Despite the tremendous efforts from Serbian Laurentiu L, Mexican Xipetotec, Chileans El Matador and Khioz and Indonesian Bong, all representing the geographical variety of our allies, we had to give up the city centre of Bruges.

But when they attempted to take Damme, one of the main entrances of Bruges, the pesky French were hold back by our first division. Once again, Kleeto led the way with a more than extraordinary effort. Big thanks to Eduardo Bello and Isilinda (Chi) & Karimch and Cesar David Alvarez (Mex).

Our glory even went further. Near the city of Oostende, the French were denied a victory by the second division. Led by our Mexican friend NeverOrDie, we held back the French. Thanks as well to Maria Elena Fuseneco, The.Guardiian, xDNLx and Mario Francisco.

The port of Zeebrugge witnessed another eBelgian victory, when Pescaman led our nation towards glory, aided by his fellow Chileans Kondor Negro, Karl von Lautaro, Pifia and Chexo711. Thank you Chile, a true CoT-friend and ally. This battle turned the tide. 21-12 behind, but we were back on the way up.

Battle 4: Battle of Ghent

The attack from the French on Ghent would turn out as a disaster for them. Our Mexican friends held them back in the fields near Evergem, led out by Seiku09, Gargafilos1, Emmii Laus & Jack9213. A special well done for our youngster Nico Piantadosi.

SR Alex, our Chilean friend, held back the French in the village of Merelbeke. The French idea of making a double attack failed over his efforts, helped by his Mexican mates Hexen XXIII, Semmo, Barcaton and Chilean Penquista Rojinegro.

The French tried to take Ghent by capturing the gates near Gentbrugge. However, they were pushed back by an amazing Chilean effort by Vidaurreq, Darth.plague, SirFerrer, Kapash and NcMnT.

In the end, the French saw no other option than an all open attack on Ghent. They came back with disappointed faces, as our Chilean allies did terrific. Wisho, Caupolican, rangoso, DrKaban, thank you! Also to Sasha Vladimirovna from Bulgaria.

Battle 5: Second battle of Bruges

With this victory, we redirected ourselves to Bruges. The first division, led again by an amazing Zanson, got out of the siege of Damme and made way to the city. Thanks to M Physto, P3t3r B1ch0p, MBBW and Luis Sierra H, Mexicans and Chileans by our side.

The second division, with a great xxpeluzaxx again, took Sint-Andries, an important gateway for victory. Helped by Keriito (Mex), Angela090 (Chi), omgimalive (Swiss, thanks!) and Monojr (Chi), we captured these important points.

Division three paved the way for our victory in Bruges. Coming from the sea, they pushed back the French. Chileans DMorales, Julio Portales, G4t0xic0 and Mexican raulvg are thanked for their effort. They were led by our Belgian patriot G.W.Junior, who was a great battle hero.

The Belgian flag was placed back on the Bruges city hall by Alvaro Rousseau, who led out our fourth division to glory. With Mesther and DIOS, we could count again on our American and Chilean friends, while our Eternal eBelgian Congressman Jofroi and eBelgian at heart Cotarius gave that decisive push. Thanks guys.

Battle 6: Battle of Aalst

After two successive defeats, the French had to do or dare. With the sun starting to rise again, they saw an opportunity in moving through the Flemish Ardennes and aiming for the Flemish heartland. Our fourth division was taken by surprise and outnumbered, but nonetheless took on a daring fight. Thank you to Bageristo (Chi) and Staruszek (Pol), while our eBelgians got awake as well. Elynea, Tecuvo and Helviro battled like lions.

Near Lede, our third division got defeated as well. Nonetheless, we must thank Mada Faka Sexy Jezus (Bul) for his efforts and damage, just like Chileans Raphson and Sebas01. They were supported by two of our national aces, SX80 and GWJunior.

The Bulgarians were awake, and the French would know it. They had to give everything in order to beat our second division, led bravely by Puhanka. Thanks as well to his compatriot BG Destroyer, two Mexicans who have supported us in this campaign in an extraordinary fashion, xxpeluzaxx and Naxxo Lopez. Dardrew, one of our promising Belgians, stood by their side, knowing no fear and fighting with all he has. Thank you!

Some men do not know when to stop. We must thank them for that. Zanson once again helped our first division to victory near Ninove, avoiding the opponent to move towards Brabant. His magnificent effort was helped by Dr Alban, active Brit Steve Black, Devilsmom and Ibam18.

Battle 7: Second battle of Ghent

Annoyed by the fact that they had not managed to completely overtake us, the French took a second attempt on Ghent. Our young Belgians represented, with efforts from Mahabharata Salama, Mad Milo and Sneutrino, helped by Chileans Alekswagen and Tim Arrow. Nonetheless, our first division couldn’t win.

Second division saw another great effort from the Belgians. Zangetsu-Osan, BrainBust, NFR, … our BNA stood ready and solid, aided by Chilean Bandidochilea and Romanian Petrica Somalezu. A great effort, but battling on the stairs of the Sint-Pietersplein, we had to withdraw.

The city centre was to be defended by our third division. Once again, they had to take on an opponent who was bigger in numbers. Once again, they fought fearlessly, helped by our allies. Big thanks to Lobo Solidario from Spain and Koratos from the UK. Helped by Belgians Sisk, Den DickY and Icurlybear, they battled long and hard.

The above picture is small, his effort is great. I cannot describe how much our nation thanks Trico, the Great. This Spanish friend and ally single-handedly took those five important points. Thank you, Trico. Also a big thanks to our friends, amongst others from Bulgaria: Rhual, Stenlito, Krum III. A big high five for Xironn, always there when his country needs him and now again, today is not different.

Battle 8: Battle of Antwerp

Annoyed by their failure to capture the heart of Ghent, due to the perfect effort by Trico, the French decided to throw all their cards on the table. They went for Antwerp, the core of Flanders.

With a surprising move, they decided to move towards the bridges over the river Schelde. Our youngster from the first division stood fiercely, with special remarks for Rastafanman, a promising young Belgian. Aided by his compatriots Mousty, BVM1966, Sneutrino and the Bulgarian Pepsinka91, they slowed down the French.

Near Schoten, the French were awaited by our second division. Once again, it were our Chilean allies and friends who were vital for our effort. LeonLeoLeo led them into battle, together with DevilAkuma, Pablo Carreno and PaloloCL. A beautiful effort was noticed by new Belgian Alejandro Dado, great job mate! Nonetheless, the points went to France.

It were the Chileans who avoided the French to pass through to the meadows from the Kempen. DarkxSiders was vital for our third division, aided by his mates biblioestu, profesordeChile, MMaza and lorenachilell. Thank you, for avoiding a French breakthrough!

Look at this picture and thank him with your whole heart. Trico was terrific again, although even he could not avoid a defeat. Thanks, Trico! Great help was seen as well from Chileans Crash and Burn and KrMa, Macedonian jororg and Unualibro, a Moldavian with a special band with eBelgium. Thank you guys.

Battle 9: The creation of the Antwerp Pocket

For the first time since long, the French were in advance. They had given their full force and expected Belgium to yield quick. No such thing was to happen. With the government support getting at full power, the counterattack was started with a clear mission: taking them where they did not expect it.

Our first division was sent to scout and confuse the enemy. It is not surprising that the Battle Hero medal went to a Turkish player, Mert Derinay. We also remark the Chilean help from Jose Mikel and JOCTWO. Our very own youngster Christian Boy did his bit and did this well!

This helped our other divisions to victory. The second squad took Aalst, led out by a magnificent the.rohrschach. Thank you Chile, Carl Elric, Zaning. Helped by our very own Nova.Navid and Bulgarian pyroj, we captured these points.

Next to our CoT-friends with an MPP, we also received support from nations without such MPP. Venezuelian oavf77 helped our third division take back Dendermonde. Together with SirDavidJara, JAVA, guapexx (Chi) and the ArMacedonian (Mac), he kept this fortress and opened options.

The option for our fourth division to capture Ghent and close the pocket around Antwerp. An epic battle started in the streets of Ghent. Our man stood firm and ready, with a special thanks to Kiyonori Dragnier and Boer Jan. Also some valuable help from new Belgian Val3s Obrien, thanks mate! Trico once again was incredible, but our battle hero in the capture of Ghent was Drako Yang, the amazing Mexican tank.

Battle 10: The capture of the Antwerp Pocket

With Ghent and Aalst taken, a big part of the remaining French were locked in Antwerp. They wouldn’t battle their way out, we would just take them ourselves.

A rash attack was made by our first division. The youngsters did their best, but were pushed back despite some fine battling by hero Arnie007 and Mad Milo. Thank you to JAMAG88 from Bulgaria and Jeannette Florencio and Vanguardia Chile.

The French would not avoid their defeat. The very bridges they took two battles ago, were now captured by the second division. Chiles and Belgians cooperated magnificently, with battle hero Adrianna Oyen and NFR from one side; with Fredy Huaiquinao, Calois and fergxs on the other one. United in battle, thank you guys!

This paved the way for the third division to capture Borgerhout, Merksem and Schoten, the suburbs from Antwerp. Stijn Puttemans lead his troops like a maestro and pulled great damage on the French. Chilean friends casanova33, pcaniul and back in the game represented as well as Emiliobo.

It was Trico who was given the honour to plant the Belgian and CoTflag on the city hall of Antwerp. His efforts were relentless, his damage massive. He was supported by Megabull, our Chilean friend and a trio of great eBelgians, NLSP, DarkoDimovski and MaryamQ. Thanks guys!

Battle 11: The Rush to the Sea

I’ve named him before, but time to honour him the way he deserves: Val3s OBrien led our fourth division immediately to the gates of Bruges and beyond. Aided by never-tired Trico, once again MrWorldwide (thank you!) and two of our eBelgian glories, Jofroi and Olv007, we took Bruges back.

This gave our third division the option the chance to capture the Flemish ports left in French hands. Tommot and Stijn Puttemans, two silent forces from the Belgian National Army, two great guys overall, took the victory home. Thanks as well to the Chilean support from Truquero, ssbru and ajad1231.

I lack a picture (sorry) but great thanks to Mazakk for his massive damage. Together with his compatriots shibbystyle and hansico he attempted to take Deinze with the second division. Despite the marvellous support from Belgians Procuste and Joep Hoep, the victory went to France.

In first division, we saw a great effort by Chilean friends Feifher, this.fabio and Nashetos. Papa Strumpff and young Portuguese sov229 helped greatly, but we could not win in first division.

Battle 12: Battle of the Yzer

The advantage was fully on Belgium now and they did not stop. With Bruges captured, they went along the coast towards the hills of the West Corner, located near the river the Yzer.

The first division was the only one not coming home victorious. The difficult task to take Kortrijk by surprise did not work out, but Ukrainian myshonok, helped by Chilean Jeyvas, Yayaah, ffuentes 1972 and AntiPeruanos fought like lions.

If we’re talking about heroes, we cannot forget Manneken Piss. Together with the second division (drog27, tatzul, Equis Ochento, EtienneMD, thank you), he rushed along the coast towards De Panne and the French border. The French were almost pushed back completely…

The French were getting tired and our third division smelled blood. Serbian friend De Noel led our squad towards victory, with some thanks for Jonak66 (Mex), Mr. Yanakiev (Chi), StijnDp (fine effort by this Belgian!) and Paul Atreides I (Chi) as well of course, so we took Veurne.

Trico continued his great effort. Aided by Belgiums finest, Olv007 and Jofroi, he was once again the hero leading us in the streets from Ieper. Thanks as well to our Bulgarian friend bestboy999 and Swiss mate Squirtious Maximus, the pickle force!

Battle 13: The End Game

The French were tired, surprised, stunned. Their spirits smashed, their hopes broken. Instead of an easy victory, they were heading towards defeat.

Not sure what the end scores were, but I want to thank Shopan, Russian Terminator, HePBeH97, ammokk and Velin Dochev in first division.

I salute Boomklever, a silent Belgian but noted on the field, for his heroism in second division, together with Chilean xChristobalx, Calderero6, Moldovan Dan Andries and our Belgian fighter Nihil.Sine.Deo.

Fourth division saw great efforts by Moldovan tanks (thank you guys as well) Maxu08, JILO & Leviatanul. Also a word of praise for two Belgian fighters, Renkie & Backwards. Great job guys.

The final push was given by third division, who recaptured Kortrijk and smashed the last French out of Belgium. Well fought by Chileans DMorales, Biomatu, Elkancgg and Rofman, helped by one of our Belgian battlers Phil84.

Small map with geographical indications for non-Belgians

So this it was! We were victorious in a campaign between Goliath France and David Belgium. As puny as our nation is, as small would our chances have been if we hadn’t had our allies. I want to thank all of you, Mexicans, Bulgarians and certainly all of you Chileans. Thank you, from all those other CoT-nations and non-CoT-friends. I want to salute my fellow Belgians, next to me in battle. I want to salute Campaign Hero Trico, and Olv007, Drako Yang, Val3s O’Brien & Kiyonori Dragnier. I want to thank every single one of you who has done some damage, who has done his bit or even more. Thank you, from Belgium.

However, this is not the end of the war. The French giant is still in war with us and we will need every one of you to preserve our small Belgian country. Thanks for supporting us.

Why you so sad, Napoleon? You’ve found out that eBelgium ‘ne voulez pas coucher avec toi’?
