The Call of Reform

Day 1,025, 23:47 Published in Belgium Belgium by T3SS Finance
From the logs of the former BAP:

LOCATION: Belgian Autocracy Party HQ (Wallonia)
DAY: 1,024
TIME: 22:00 eRep (estimated)

Around this time, the BAP cabinet takes the time to relax and enjoy the immense privileges that are bestowed upon ourselves. We discuss on how to spend the finances, manage the propaganda machine that we use to keep our party members in check, and bask in how we are getting closer to our goal of bringing the power from the many to the few. By that, we mean the BAP cabinet runs the country. However, for the past few weeks, some dissenters were starting to increase in the rate they tried to encourage the other members to fight for some reform. Needless to say, we managed to quell them almost every single time. This problem isn't a new one for the BAP cabinet.

For awhile now, party members were hearing stories and personal accounts of how life was in the other parts of eBelgium: Namely, the parties based in Flanders and Brussels such as the BfB and RB were the main culprits. Every time a tourist comes to visit our state of Wallonia, they would mingle with the commoners and put stories of social equality and freedom of expression without intervention from the Party into their heads. Adding to this, former members of the now defunct Belgian Research Party continue to reminisce about the old days before the BSP and then the BAP took command. With the advent of newer and newer technologies being invented and passed out, it was becoming more difficult for us to censor dangerous ideas and thoughts that could damage our reputation and relationship with the peasant that we relied on for our crops and goods. Other parties were also starting to call us out on some of our practices.

The Belgian Communist Party, for instance, as our main rival for ideology supremacy, was becoming bolder and bolder with their slander and addresses to their party members. Luckily for us, we managed to imbed the hatred of Communism so well into the minds of our members, in fact, that even the most moderate of our followers occasionally lashed out at far-left minded individuals in our state. For those protesters that we deemed bothersome, the process was simple to remove them: First, we would take them into custody and place them in a temporary holding cell. We would then make an official Party announcement denouncing the detainee and usually attach some sort of crime to him/her. Once we set up a public "trial", we send them to a desolate region up north that historians hypothesize may be the remains of a petty nation-state called the Netherlands. Usually when we drop them off in this inhospitable area, they commit suicide or just die from depression of having to live in such a horrible place for the rest of their lives.

Today, however, is different. We seem to have messed up along the way in our goal for a true authoritarian country. Strikes, protests, mass gatherings calling for a change in leadership seem to have come out of nowhere and have affected every part of Wallonia; essentially the BAP itself. We're meeting here today not to lounge around and make small talk, but to actually decide on a proper course of action for this rebellion. We have already ruled out bringing the militia for this matter. Any deaths resulting from our interference is sure to only increase the severity of this situation and hurt our chances of a speedy recovery. Our intelligence officers have informed us of a possible suspect in the coordination of the riots. Apparently, an outside entity managed to infiltrate the higher command and is using the position to cause discord among the peasantry. The entity in question immediately rang a bell in my mind as they told us who it might be. During my time traveling abroad before settling in eBelgium, I came across a political party that recently opened up a new "branch" in the nation of eIsrael. Although interesting, I paid no special attention to it although I severely regret that decision now.

Back to what's happening right now. The cabinet seems very suspicious and a little cautious about one another due to the high possibility of a defector being among us. In addition to the tense atmosphere in the board room, hundreds or maybe thousands of angry protesters have settled right in front of the gates surrounding the BAP HQ. The security department has devised a way for us to exit the area without alerting the mob out front. Being very nervous myself, and feeling the need to explain the plan to those I feel didn't quite understand it, I converse with two of the main leadership of the BAP, M.Leviathin and Ray Captain. They've been behaving strangely for the last few days, although, I believe anyone would considering the predicament we're in. Well, the security department has started to evacuate all high ranking party members to safety through a secret pathway (I've never heard of it, but I guess it wouldn't be a secret if I did). If I may put a personal statement into this log, I'm relieved that this day is finally coming to an end and I expect this thing to have sorted itself out by tomorrow.
