Yesterday, I announced my candidacy. Today I follow up on the announcement that came as a surprise to many, with information about how I will choose the people who will work with me in the coming month, and more detailed reasons for my running for president.

I hadn’t intended to run for President until about 6 hours before I officially announced in my previous article; in all honestly me running was as much of a shock to me as it was too many of you. That said, my campaign is already in mostly good shape, and I’m feeling confident when it comes to the fifth, despite not having the money of my competitors, but I have the free time and dedication to see this through.

I decided to run after it emerged that Choc wasn’t running for a second term, mostly. The conversation in an IRC channel I was in essentially went from discussing whom would take second place behind him, to who was running, to bullying me into running in quick succession. Other people, independently of this, suggested to me that I run also; who am I to say no?

It’s a job I want, despite knowing just how much work, time, effort and all of that it will require. I expect many sleepless nights, and thats cool, I knew insomnia would come in handy one day. Starting later than the other candidates has left me at a slight disadvantage, but you can help me fix this.

First; come and help the campaign. You can find us in #GF-POTUS on rizon. Help out, write an article, message a few people asking for their vote. I need your help for this cause. Any help, be it just being there, or helping out in a more active manner is appreciated; and will earn you my eternal love, which fetches a pretty price on eBay, or at least thats what an ex did with it.

Secondly and perhaps more importantly, the issue of the cabinet. Now, with my late candidature, I don’t have anyone for any cabinet space at all right now; the field is wide open. Thats cool, I hear you say, but does that have to do with me? Everything. See, the trend for as long as I can remember, and thats pretty bloody long, is that the president picks the people they want, and just does that. A closed process. I feel this has contributed to a lack of fresh blood in the political system, and I aim to change that.

So, I wont make choosing the cabinet a closed process. Later today, in an hour or two, I will post a topic in the general political forum of the eusforums. Within this topic will be information on how to apply for the cabinet. Update the information topic can be found here

This will be a two step process, much akin to a real life. Firstly there will be a form, to be submitted twice to different places. That’ll make sense when you read the topic, and also proves people can read simple instructions, always a good start. Secondly, will be an interview phase. Fairly self explanatory.

I aim to have a final list prepared by the 4th of July. In a wonderful piece of irony, the unlucky people chosen to serve at my mercy for the month will be celebrating their lack of independence for the next month.

In all seriousness, no matter if you think you have a chance or not, apply. If you show yourself to be smart, and active, then even if I lose, I’ll be making sure relevant people know your name. We have a leadership gulf in the USA right now – I really hope that this is a chance for some fresh blood to get the opportunity they deserve. I don’t care what party you’re from, if any. I don’t care if you vote for me. I don’t care if we’ve had disagreements in the past. I want the best, and you’re going to provide it. Please, apply. Not for me, but for yourself, and the good of the game.
