The Belgian Mentality, Just Blame TEDEN!
Konrad Neumann
A few weeks ago, eNL was not on the map. Many Dutch citizens as well as our EDEN and Terra allies fought tough and hard on the 23rd against the Hungarians in Southern Netherlands. Lots of gold spent and a sleepless night for people like myself van Spjick and others. While it was nice to be on the map, the effort made on the 23rd while in vain due to a recent unannounced rule change from the admins, the purpose was to secure a congress election before the deadline.
For most, protecting congress and the government in terms of its structural integrity is the most vital duty. For there is no bigger threat to the nation than the failure or a PTO of an government and its congress. For land and region is not vital. A regionless country continues to function albeit less efficiently due to the fact that they have a state which governs. Without the state, you have nothing. This is something that the Belgians really do not understand.
The issue of neutrality is constantly discussed/ argued about in eBE politics. The rebate overall is should they join ONE or remain neutral. There are a lot of pro-ONE people in eBE who has a false understanding threats and friends. The problem with the Belgian mentality is that they do not do any self reflection. They blame TEDEN all the time for being "bullies" and anti-Belgians but they do not look at their own policies. Even today, we never really got an open letter to the peoples of eNL apologizing for the Hungarian affairs. So instead of looking themselves at the mirror, they always refer to the French and Dutch attacks on their regions and thinks that it was a real threat. As Nohjis said, eBE focus on regions more than threats of the congress/ government. He argues that eBE in general believes that being on the map is more vital and preventing a PTO. This therefore, explains the mentality of the general Belgian.
What is most shocking about the Belgian mentality is the short sightedness of their policies. They viewed TEDEN as their biggest security threat since TEDEN took a few of their regions in the past. They failed to see the real threat which is ONE. While they do not want a PTO, they place regions as more important. Despite the real threat that could destroy eBE for good with the Polish G50 PTO attempt (ordered by the Polish government) they continue to see and believe ONE is a good friend while TEDEN is their main enemy. So one must ask the question, who is the bigger threat?
If you look at the eBE media, be it from the articles of Mitte or others, they keep bashing TEDEN as aggressive and hostile towards eBE. TEDEN is bad with the MPP embargo etc but what is their attitude towards ONE? Despite the Polish sponsored PTO, they still praise one and wants to join them. You have people like NLSP who wants to join ONE and destroy NL for good. You have Viridi who writes propaganda that supports ONE in eBE media. You have MItte who's policies made eBE pro-ONE and the cause of many problems between eBE and TEDEN relations and so on. All of them and many more never once condemn ONE for their PTO efforts.
In the end, TEDEN and NL are not the biggest threat. While the War of Beers did not help relations, eNL and TEDEN never fought eBE for real. They believe they won the war etc and no one can conquer them etc, but if it was really our desire to wipe eBE off the map, they would be off the map for months now. eBE has nothing to offer and that is why eBE is safe. Their own personal hatred of TEDEN and NL blinds them of the truth. They do not understand this is a war game and in war games, there are wars. Whereas TEDEN and NL publically and openly engage in fun and non-threatening wars against the Belgians, the Polish and ONE engaging in a threatening covert war. They do not do it openly. They want to stab the Belgians in the back knocking out the government and congress which is almost impossible to get back.
So I guess us TEDEN people are doing it all wrong. We should not fight and conquer eBE etc. Taking their regions is bad for the Belgians and it will be met with much hatred and anger. Instead, we should learn from the Poles, we will allow eBE on the map and instead of invasion etc, we should PTO eBE and maybe they will too praise us. For the Belgians are really prideful people. They pride themselves of their neutrality and regions. However, how can you be proud if the eBelgiums themselves are ousted into exile by a Polish take over?

I can not agree with this article, I'm sorry.
Whilst I personally am proONE, I do try to keep my articles neutral and do not wish to become propaganda. My sincere apologies if it does appear to be one side.
Interesting analysis, voted and subscribed. 🙂
And again a I hate eBelgium article.
@ Space Allien
You should not take things personally. For criticizing eBE does not mean it is hate. I criticize eBE just as many in eBE criticize eNL and TEDEN etc. Does that mean you guys hate us?
Konrad you can write good articles. Many of them are about eBE and are biased (no problem about being biased, it makes you good tu understand and gives you a lot of friendship. eBE semms to have your special interest.
About PTO threat tis is a very good article: http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/the-economist-why-congress-needs-to-be-disciplined-over-citizenship-passes--2054176/1/20
And ofcourse good to blame TEDEN (even when from ONE comes some threaths too). 😉
My fellow eBelgians will not like this, but you do make a good point about PTO threats. Most of those eBe has faced in recent months have been from ONE - whether or not they were government sponsored I don't know, but it is clear that many people in ONE see eBe as an easy target. This is certainly something to think about.
The best way would be for a block of eNL'ers to apply for citizenship and have the LCC automatically grant them CS passes, since they don't understand and won't listen to those who are aware of the PTO threat(s).

Good and clear analysis of the current situation lately in eBE.
Although you do have some points Konrad, I do not like you're tone of voice (or the picture you saw fit). I don't think it will help us strengthen relations, which, with a neighbour, would be the right direction imo. This article will only strengthen the hatred some people in eBE en eNL feel against the other nation. No one will benefit I'm afraid.
@ Konrad Neumann
You make a fair point about my comment.
I shal then say another articel that criticises eBelgium.
And no we don't hate you guy's.
I'm now in Holland helping you out.
PS: neutrality will always be debated even in real life.
Yes we have a group that is pro one but they are a minority!
But i'm guessing some where in our community we also have some people pro Teden.
I'm not too fond of eBE anymore and you have some good points but also there are some incorrect facts and the article are too biased and quite frankly it's becoming boring
mud-trowing between nations and alliances is what's make this game fun 🙂
not making elitist and intellectual statements about government and how 'reality' looks like, forget realiy when you are playing a game
Haven't read the entire article as I know where this is going but as someone new to eNL and some poitical experience I find that eNL and eBelguim should look at trying to build relationships rather then incite each other into a media war which will eventually see good potential allies become enemies, now I can understand the frustration as I had while in eSA and saw eAus step aside to allow an indo invasion, though we still remained friends regardless as its best for eSA and eAus any getting to
long reply now perhaps I should just stfu
voted anyways
Interesting article, though i don't understand why you focus on the Belgians that much. It's just 20 people playing idiotically. As long as they cling to this "neutral" hallucination they have it will be useless to reason with them.
Tone of voice is not constructive
