31 December, 2009, Day 772 of the New World - Today the world is rejoicing. It is the new year, or near it, and many are out celebrating, drinking various beverages, and abusing substances which are illegal in some nations. The e-world, however, is ablaze. Romania, Greece, Israel - under heavy invasion. Poland, Spain - pinned down. Croatia, just now victorious, seemingly to join the U.S. and Sweden as EDEN's largest and most capable nations to aid in the defense of their allies.


An Honorable Salute

From my last article, I thanked many who helped make this administration a success on the cabinet side of the nation. Now, I feel those who have gone beyond their duty on the field of strategy and war deserve special mention.



Gaius Julius, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, is also the Military Commander of EDEN. His strategy and tactics have been criticized but they have almost always proven fruitful. A chief designer behind the entire War for the Three Pillars, his influences are felt even after his two terms as President - in which I was his Vice President. Without him, this operation would have never happened and without him, I would venture to say that EDEN would not be so united right now. From one bro to another.

Sydiot, Secretary of the Treasury, and last month's head of the Budget and Finance Committee. He is the numbers man and does all that he can to ensure that our nation is on the correct path for success. His hard work, number crunching, and dedication has shown throughout the war and have proven more than once to be invaluable. I can only quote myself and Bradley Reala by saying, "He's a beast among gods among mortals."

Lucius "Lucky" Varenus, retired Commandant of the U.S. Marine Corps, and an another architect behind the War for the Three Pillars. His goals and plans, although sometimes diverted because we just like to throw him a curve ball, have always been accurate and precise. His management of various military IRC channels, however, gives him a godly appearance. Either way, he also has given this nation a service that few can do: He stopped me from going insane.

The United States Armed Forces, and its Joint Chiefs of Staff, I must thank also. Your dedication, willingness to put your support in my administration, and occasional love letters have really kept this President coming back for more. It is the drive and motivation to see you all hitting those walls, blasting holes in Liaoning, Karnataka, which have made this a rewarding a experience. I only hope you all can say the same. Who knew that together, we would topple two of the three most guarded occupied territories in less than a one week span?

EDEN, the people, Generals, heads of state, and others. Our allies have proven invaluable, be it supporting us in Kyushu, Liaoning, Karnataka, or even our own return of the favor in Croatia with her victories over Slovenia. This alliance truly is a strong and powerful one, and I am honored to be the President of one of its member nations. Let's continue the fight.

The Third Pillar, Heiliongjiang, is the strongest of all. Symbolically, all three of the Pillars had meanings to me. Liaoning symbolized a nation which did little but enjoyed the spoils of having the overlord allies. Karnataka showed us that old empires still existed...and could fall. Now stands the final Pillar, one which is the strongest of all. Heiliongjiang. The symbol of oppressive fists over a defenseless host, the symbol of an imperialist which, like all those whom hosted the Pillars before, attempted to conquer the United States.

Now we stand poised to strike, and my counterpart in Hungary knows this full well. When will we strike? Will we be victorious? Will it just be a distraction battle for the wars in Europe? Will we actually succeed in the goal I outlined on the 6th of this month? I cannot say, no one truly can, but what I can say is to be ready. For anything.

But that brings me to our next subject!

The Golden Routine

I want to heavily encourage everyone to do their part to support the United States. Are we short on cash? Not really, just need to whip Congress a few times. Could we use some extra money? Always! And so can you. History has proven, the richest and strongest citizens enjoy the game more. This is why I ask that all citizens take part in the free surveys offered by eRepublik. Take advantage, and make lots of money. It is actually more time efficient to do these surveys than run any company short of a Q3 raw material or Q5 weapons.

Here's some things to consider:
» As an American, you get a larger selection of surveys than others. Some nationalities, such as Iran and Indonesia, get almost none. Use this to your advantage!
» A regular 1 GOLD survey takes less than ten minutes to do. A 2 GOLD survey generally takes less than twelve minutes. Aim high, and make the most!
» Your gaining GOLD will increase your abilities to invest in the economy, nation, and ultimately - yourself.

I only ask that those whom feel patriotic enough, that after doing these surveys, that they donate to Fort Knox Federal Reserve. The purpose of this is to increase the nation's entire gold flow, not just the governments. But every gold piece helps.
