The aircraft Missile scam

Hello eRepublik world,
I haven't been very active for a while so a lot of things have changed here!
I saw that there are now different levels of aircraft missiles, one of the levels I would like to focus on is the last missile (level 5) which inflicts 100 damage per shot and has up to 5 uses. Now lets do some math and see why these aircraft missiles are so overpriced.
1. Let's say that you need to inflict about 70,000 in damages when it comes to the air battles in order to get the Sky Hero medal which is worth about 30 GOLD.
2. In order to inflict 70,000 in damages, you would need to buy 140 of those level 5 aircraft missiles (1 missile = 5 uses, each use has 100 damage which equals to 500 damage per missile! 140 missiles = 70,000 damage)
3. Now, 1 missile is going for about $700 in the USA marketplace (which is the cheapest in republic so far). Now, remember you need about 140 missiles of those missiles to inflict 70,000 damage. 140 missiles x $700 = $98,000
4. That means that you would be paying $98,000 cc just to get the Sky Hero Medal worth about 30 GOLD when you could buy 180 GOLD in the marketplace for that same amount of cc.
NOTE: I did this little math to bring awareness to the people who buy these missiles in order to get GOLD and not those people who buy them for the sole purpose to help their home countries conquer or resist other nations!

It's also technically cheaper to buy EB's than to buy Q5 weapons. Q5 weapons to me are like a reallllly realllllllllly expensive 100% air dmg booster.. 😛
However if a person is really intent on gaining Air rank, it allows you an instant 100% dmg boost by using cc, that you can get an unlimited amount at anytime vs gold that can only be bought in small amounts over time unless you want to spend crazy buying visa gold.
If you are going to use a 10min 50% dmg booster, the 10% rank booster, a 10 min PP booster, and a 5x accelerator at the start of the week fighting in an Air epic, or a priority battle, then Q5's may be worthwhile to certain people.
But generally why spend 1400cc (2 q5 weapons) vs 800-1100 cc (1 EB at a price of 1.5g to 2g). Only reason is if its time sensitive or you want to do a Max 10min burn.

Correction Q5 Air Missiles doubles your damage - so for you it may be 100 but damage varies by individual
so for aircraft missiles 20=20%, 100=100%?

Well, you are right but, compared to the days when we had just Q1 air weapons, today they are not so bad. I think most of people use air weapons above all to rank up faster: double damage means also double rank, and it's always a good deal, till we have no perception points.
I remember the things were a lot worse when in market we could buy just Q1 air weapons for around 900 cc, and they just gave us 20% more damage and rank!
