The Affairs of Congress, March-April & April-May 2013 : Special Edition

Hi, eJapan, it's Zodiarque!

First, I want to congratulate every elected Congress persons, their parties and all the voters who accomplished their civil right and duty.

Then, I wanted to apologize for my chaotique presence due to some health issues beyond my control. This is part of my reason for not having reported for April-March and my own reluctancy to my being Speaker for April-May. For what it's worth, allow me to renew my sincere apologies and please move on.

So as part of my job as the Speaker during April and May, I wanted to give you an update, you could all make use of I guess, even if not many things have been addressed, discussed or voted in congress, on the forums during those rather quiet months. Without further ado, let's begin.



1. «Personae Non Gratae» Law amended (Discussion and Vote)

Everyone should always be given at least a second and unique chance. Through sincere redemption and honest conduct only, one can hope to find a place in the community again. Thus, it was brought to the attention that there should be a procedure for one to get their name out of the blacklist. An addendum to the Personae Non Gratae Aact was therefore drafted and ratified without no single vote against it.

Hold on! : Some possible redundancy of the last article of the Immigration law with the Personae Non Gratae act had been denounced there at some times. Hopefully, it was merely a misunderstanding, proving again that we should all stay vigilant and attuned. Be reminded that you need not to be necessarly a rogue Congress member to end on the Persona Non Gratae's blacklist.



2. The Diet's Voting system (Bulletin 1, Bulletin 2, Bulletin 3)

The Dual Voting System has, so far, proven to be successful as the Vote rate has been growing up those months. I sincerly hope for the all next Speakers to keep on using that system so we can all experience the best of our democracy.

Speak up! : A good way to experience democracy yourself, don't hesitate to go and partake in forum discussions. If you are not registered yet, a tutorial has been put at your disposal there.



Now as part of my job as the Interim Speaker of the Congress, allow me to adress our whole new Congress. Let's keep on the strong effort started few months ago and not give up on our dream to have a well organized and administrated eNation.



3. Get your access to the Forum (See there)

Like every month, Congress member can receive their full access to the Congress room and private parts so that they can deal with the work they were entrusted to carry on by the people of eJapan.

In order to get your access (aka «Congress mask») you just need to post there with your Citizen Forum account so that Moderation Team acknowledges your presence and desire to be an active Congress member.

If you were not to have a Citizen account yet, don't worry, the process is well oiled and fast managed. Just register, open a post entitled [CM]"your eRep name here" in the Application section and ask for a Citizen mask. Then send me a PM in eRepublik as an authentification. Thus, you can see you are only two steps from being masked. Remember that you were not elected to be lazy enough so that you wouldn't bother doing this very few.

4. Speaker of Congress Nominations (See there)

As Interim Speaker, I openned the nomination of the June Speaker of Congress and extended the duration to 72h instead of the usual 48h so that you all had more time to carry on the registration process if not using Forum.

Hold on! : As a Citizen of eJapan, I was eligible to become a nominee for the position of Speaker of the Diet again and was appointed by default. This brought my being the Speaker experience for about 10 months since I was first elected to Congress in August 2012 (Ahava-nee offered me a leave in February 2013).
