Thanks eCanada

Everything started when I realized I had a lot of time to burn and thought it might be nice to revive my old erepublik account. I know only time will tell if that was a good choice make to pass the time or will I just waste hours upon hours upon hours screaming and cursing at the screen.
Any case I searched far and wide for a new place to call home once I had revived my account.
I searched around for a while.
Until I realized why don't I just play in the electronic erepublik equivalent of the most awesome country in the world. CANADA. My home in real life. For reals.
Few days into it, one can ask the question, "Was it a good choice?" Hells Yea. Didn't you see the picture above, there are Canadians here. What more can one ask for. And with that I would like to give shout out thanks for everyone that's be so welcoming and helpful. Particular shout out to the folks out at the Captains of Industry & the Canadian Progressive Front. All of whom have given me loads of yummy and valuable supplies but more importantly precious precious information.
Has it been all peaches and cream though?
Ellen Page says maybe not entirely
Well not entirely. While I did have very dated information of the game from when I played back then coming to Canada certainly required some digging through through the information. And as I eluded to earlier a lot of asking around.
Some of my concerns:
- Moar simple information for the newbs to digest please. We really need to present the information in a much much simpler fashion. For example include simple straight two line description and differentiation of what the Military Units(MU) and Political Parties(PP) are here in Canada and how does it serve their interest.
- Moar availability of supplies please. I know there must have been a moved at sometime to delegate that responsibility of distribution more to the MUs. Although I have to say while the MUs are great and awesome that way, there still is a need for a supply drop from a National Organization for a daily basis at least until a certain point.
- Moar opportunities to get involved, especially in government please. There should be a drive to get noobs into training/internship positions. We a small nation meaning that there really should be a number of things we could be doing but we aren't engaging the population especially the new players.
Well that's it for my whining. All in all what I really just wanted to say was Thanks for Having me Here Canada!
Also don't you hate it when people put stupid mood music in their articles. I mean let the substance of what you're writing speak for itself man.

Welcome in!
Welcome to Canada
Welcome!
In two lines, there is no way to distinguish between MDP and say IPC. Maybe you could put "MDP has Rylde. Rylde Smash."
Do you know what the Boomers Academy is?
They are an MU that's sole intent Is to get noobs active and familiar with the game. Parties also do this with their newer members that speak up and show interest. The problem with new players isn't the country, it's the game itself.
Do you really think its smart to make our country communist and regulate supplies for everyone? When you add in that we're dirt poor, you'll see that we'll have to do nationwide slavepits. These will have to be purchased and maintained by individuals, not the government.
There would be no drive, no individuality for company owners. It'd be like spending 1200 gold and not being able to have any say at all. A privatized MU provides a sense of pride and community,
As well as direct control over its proceedings.
There's a trend in your points that suggest the government take a direct role in various proceedings. From what i understand from Plugson, who was just interviewed in a different article, this isn't the way of CPF.
You must also realize is that the "government" has very little inner country power at all. If the game doesn't give it to them, it's up to whoever to try and implement it. In many areas, a personal approach is far more likely in this game.
Regardless, Welcome. It's a shame the other people here didn't even seem to show interest in what you said, that's something I'd like to fix. And one of them is running for CP.
That whole article, and all people offer is a greeting?
Come on guys.

@Prophet/Venerable: whole articles, and I respond with a ~hyuu~
@stpolar: if you keep writing, or reading articles and comments, you'll find more ~hyuu~s.
What community comes down to is, generally, you get what you put in. As Prophet/Ven outlined, there are opportunities, but sometimes you need to look for them, or make them yourselves. If you have the interest, you can ask questions about it, and act on it. Usually parties, government, and MUs don't know whether you want to be involved or not. They always look for and welcome positive involvement and interest, especially from new players. But not all new players want to be involved or have the interest, that's why it ends up being the new players' to take initiative towards being involved.
(If you have any questions or need any direction, PM me. I can probably answer it or point you to people who can help.)
btw, the abbreviation for PP is usually for Party President, not Political Parties.
Quiet MaryChan, I'm trying to steal him.
Wow thanks for the feedback folks that's real valuable stuff.
Prophet I was planning to join the Boomers, but thought it wise to get right into it and join the CoI just because I had already some basic knowledge of the military part of the game. I would have to agree that the game isn't super friendly for newbs to really get into.
With regards to a National Food distribution system, I was just thinking that I would act as a supplement to the MUs for newbs. Like I said normally MUs are great in giving health about 600 - 1000+.
But consider my scenario I have 500H and normally fight about 4 times a day. So considering that and all the other things I do (training & work) I need about 2000H Daily. Just until a player gets to about maybe level 25 and they haven't made that many friends yet or they might be shy to ask people they just met everyday for food. I think it would be awesome if there was a place/organization they could go to if they needed the extra boost of health. Plus we all know it's those first few weeks when people level up the fastest.
Although I see the value of the points that you've just mentioned, particularly in regards to individuals being proud of the work they do if they are in an MU. And the simplification of the process obviously, I just feel apprehensive about approaching people for stuff since I don't know them that well yet :/ I'm sure that'll change though.
That is the major difference between Canada and the US where they have a big government (and even parties and MUs) working in a meta game. While Canada focuses heavily on the in game mechanics. And I do see the advantages of both approaches.
Like can we make the function of what Doctor of Souls an official position in Government? But only serving people who ask and only until level 25.

I can't believe I got a

And thanks again folks for the warm welcome.
I don't know if you know this or not but the Doctor of souls said he would rather keep MoH a non government title he said he likes how it is now.
Oh I haven't heard that yet :/
it took me a while to get the abbreviations when i started 😛
