thank you and goodbye

Day 2,553, 06:18 Published in United Kingdom Belgium by mittekemuis

Hello there,

I finally got around to writing the last article I will ever write on erepublik. Most of the players I have worked with know I have been hanging on with a thread. In and out on advisor jobs invited in Gov channels I myself think have no business in anymore. I have been away from any action in politics and international affairs for over a year now with some sporadic flairs of activity. Sure it is nice to still being kept up to date about countries I care about but that doesn’t mean I will ever step up and actually do the work anymore. I can’t seem to find a purpose in this game anymore. There is no longer a challenge apart from the silly goal I set for myself, reaching level 101.

It is not only the personal lack of challenge that makes me take this decision. It is mainly the decline in the communities that makes it no longer worth while to play. Over the 4 years I have been here, playing in various communities has always been the biggest joy. So many good players in different countries with different cultural backgrounds and ideas has enriched my eLife but also real life. I can honestly say I will miss this.

Many players I enjoyed playing with have left the game or are in the same zombie state I am. I think many of us kept hanging on in the hope that the game creators would make the game more worthwhile and not just a money pit but this sadly hasn’t happened. Many excellent players have given their analysis on the game decline so I will spare you my opinion as it is voiced often enough.

I haven’t got a replacement game waiting with such a good community as eRepublik has. I do however made sure that the true friends I made here I will keep in touch with. Friendships like any relation is something you need to work on or it fades away. Let this be a promise to the people I hold dear that I will do my utmost best to keep in touch.

(going all out with MAD)

You will find that I will be ingame for some months yet because it will take me that long to reach level 101. Half the time I forget to fight so it goes really slow. I can still be found on irc most of the time although I am going to close the majority of channels I am in now.
For the UK community, I will still be on the forum but only for the gaming section and of course most important the minecraft subforum.

For those who are left behind I want to say enjoy the game I know I did for a few years.

Kind regards,
