Thailand Government, Who and What it is.

Day 409, 08:06 Published in Thailand Thailand by Guy Kilmore

I am going to take a moment to outline the positions available to the executive office and also discussion the function of a “Central Bank for Thailand”.

Executive Offices:

Director of Civilian Recruitment (DCR) -This entity will operate as much as it does now, basically communicating to the world that Thailand is the greatest country to live in. It has been effective, I am seeing other countries start to copy our efforts. Currently Antonio heads this agency, but he has stated he wishes to step down to travel if I am elected. I would consult with him about a replacement and I would be open to hearing from interested citizens.

Director of the Wellness Program (DWP) - This entity will continue operations how it does now. This position is held by Nouveauk and he is doing a wonderful job. I might look at tweaking priority so that Cyberdyne is a priority, for the moment, over the military. I believe this is happening now. I would also encourage greater communication between the DCR and DWP as our newer citizens who come generally are low on wellness. I hope they could develop a survey more inline with the role call that is used with the military. I would consult with Nouveauk and the DCR before putting this in action.

Secretary of Defense (SoD) - This organization would run much as it does now. I would also use this individual as a point person in analyzing potential countries to formulate MPPs with. Lance LaGrange currently heads this department and I see no reason for change.

Director of the Housing Program (DHP) - This organization would run much as it does now and is currently headed by Beorn. It would continue in its operations, even though I haven’t seen much activity as of late. I plan on consulting with Beorn to gain an idea of its status once in office (it might be that there is a low demand for housing in Thailand. Or our new citizens do not know about it, if that is the case we could look with DCR including this information in our new citizen survey.)

President of the Central Bank (DC😎 - They would participate in the oversight of the proposed central bank and monitor currency exchanges. They would also assist in running the current companies owned by the government, be they defunct or active. If there are any purchase transactions being made by the government they would be the person doing it, under the approval of the President. While I have ideas on citizens who could excel in this role, I am interested in hearing from people who are interested. I am willing to bet there are some great ideas out there and I would be curious to hear them.

Office of the Vice President (VP) - I have not selected a running mate. I have some ideas, but again, I am interested in hearing from people whom I may not have had much contact with. The Vice President will be the “trouble shooter” and assist whichever office needs it the most and at the direction of the President.

As I have said above, I am interested in opening positions to more of the populace than the people I know. There might be newcomers here, who are interested in working with the government, who I have never met. I encourage them to drop me a message with an outline of what they bring to the position if they are interested. Back during Jack Roberts’ presidency Nouveauk was one of those people and it was one of the best appointments he made.

To those in their current positions, if they are looking to do something different please message me, I would be flexible in shifting roles.

I plan to have these positions filled within 5 days of being in office. I would also look at creating a general government contract for Directors that is signed upon coming into office. While I do not believe that this is currently needed, lapses of judgment can occur and we would be without recourse if they do. I have a general idea of how this contract should be implemented, but no specifics at this time. This would also include a presidential pledge of ethics.

Operation of the Central Bank:

Upon reading the economics thread, I see the need for this institution; at the same time I see how we can sink our money fast if we are not careful. I am proposing its creation for several reasons:

1). An entity to hold our treasury, especially during times of war. If we lose a territory we lose a portion of the treasury. We do not have much land and that would be a huge hunk of funds.
2). To allow the ease of day to day transactions by the government
3). To ensure that currency exchanges are occurring. This will help our exporting and importing of goods and prevents stagnation. I would currently like the Bank to look at building our gold stockpile to facilitate the governments ability to engage in world relations. (Note: I do not see this entity as being able to set a currency exchange rate, I do agree that attempting to do so would be like a man holding a cardboard up to stop a tidal wave. I DO see it being able to make the market active as we have, ideally, access to the most Baht and can be a large purchaser of gold and/or baht given market circumstances.)
4). This entity would run the current government companies
5). This entity would have a national newspaper for official government communications. I would encourage every citizen to subscribe to it
6). Only the PCB, VP and President will have access to the bank. Ideally they would be from multiple parties as to reduce corruption because one of these people would most likely become a whistle blower.

I am open to discussion as to the potential role of this organization, but I do believe it needs to exist in some form.
