Tempted to clone yourself? A bad ideea..

Hello everybody,

As some of you may have noticed, in the past seven days many guys died on the “clones battlefields”. Anonymous young citizens, as well as some older, more known ones. The explanation is simple, eRepublik`s staff manpower increased, hence so did the amount of work-hours available. Young citizens and their clones usually die unnoticed, but the things are different with the “old sharks”. Everybody notices the permanent ban of an old and powerful citizen, decision which usually asks for some additional work. What happens is that of course the more experienced cheaters use some “networks” to obtain illegal properties. And sometimes those networks are indeed really extended. But having the necessary amount of time available, even the smartest or complicated network trying to “lose” the money journey can be nicely uncover. There`s no coincidence that this experienced old cheaters usually has in their networks many clones involved, not just a couple of them. That`s because they need a lot of gold to support massive wars. But the law is the same for everyone.

Officially everybody asks for a “clean” eRepublik. But sometimes this “give us a clean world” refers to the “others”, given the fact that often after being proved to have 10 clones that “fed” them, many citizens ask for mercy.. they promise they`ll not do it again, they don`t care about the organizations, the companies, the money they had, they just would be very happy to get their main character back. Unfortunately, no matter how “humanly” an admin would like to be, he just can`t do that because unbanning such a player would be a great injustice for the other fair citizens, that indeed played the game fair..not just by words, in the declarative level. So, apart from the cases when truly some mistake occurred (those are really rare cases), a “request appeal” has 0 chances to turn a decision. But on the other hand, hey! This is just a game. Your actions, your “death”, these are just virtually. Maybe you have learned something, maybe you`ll remember your lesson. And maybe you`ll start all over again, but this time obeying the rules and playing a fair game. Would be so nice that in our RL we`d have such opportunities to start all over again so easy.

All these stories, some of them full of sadness, should be a lesson for you, the young citizen of eRepublik. You hear about X being banned, losing his 6 months work..or about Y, losing his more than a year investment in this game and his character. Of course you could be tempted to gain some 20 gold illegally by creating 2 clones, “easy money” you`d say to yourself. Encouraged by your “success” maybe you`ll try to extend, to gain even more illegal gold. Well, maybe a month will pass, maybe 6 months, maybe a year, who knows? But in the end, you`ll be caught, that`s for sure. Because more and more guys are doing exactly that..cleaning the New World.

Now, ask yourself, is it worth? Would you trade your beloved character for just a hand of gold? It`s up to you, and this will be entirely your decision.
