Take Care

Day 747, 08:37 Published in Canada Canada by William Duncan
Note: This article would have been posted at 2:59 AM last night; however, my comp crapped out at 1:30 AM.

It's been an awesome ride. The last two months were filled with endless drama (the queens of it live in Congress), action and excitement - and not always the pleasant kind; nonetheless, we worked through it, and I am glad to hand over the Presidency to my successor, Jacobi, knowing he inherits a nation that has never been stronger or more free. Our military is top class, and still improving (and always must), and our alliances are strong, and still expanding.

eCanada enjoys a unique position internationally: Full fledged members of Brolliance, Eden and observers in Sol, we can and should concentrate our energies where doing so will bear the most fruit. The Brolliance is the most fundamental alliance to eCanada. When the eUSA and eCanada cooperate and agree on a thing, that thing is always done. Militarily, we have a time zone monopoly that makes up for much in what we might lack in overall numbers or manpower. This advantage gives whomever we support a strategical edge that will determine the balance of power in conflicts.

This power must be used wisely, bearing in mind our friends, allies, reputation and especially our international prestige. With great power comes great responsibility; neglecting this power will itself create resentment, as not exercising power for something that is justifiably good is no better than using power for what is unjustifiably bad. We have the power to make the peace, and the choices and decisions of Brolliance leaders now, and our friends, allies and affiliates around the New World, will determine whether or not this Pax Bromance is a blessing or a curse in the New World (or ever comes to be). Pax Bromance offers the opportunity to end the old mono-o-mono alliance system by adding a new twist that could finally give eRepublikans that wild card dynamic they have for so long craved.

Two months ago we were a war torn and impoverished nation; I am glad to say now that the eCanadian Government went from having a net worth of maybe six hundred gold, to today of being worth almost six thousand, and climbing rapidly, even with MPP costs that have more than tripled. Our army went from a timed strike force capable of a few thousand damage, to today capable of delivering well over 100,000 damage.

We have come a very, very long way; this would not have been possible without the following people:

Order of Canada:

Note: Anyone already a member receives a double citation.

Officers:

lcamero and Lokes
For their reliable and constant provision of quality service for the government of eCanada.

Booleus
For his unprecedented willingness to rise above and beyond the call of duty and provide the logistical and material support eCanadian citizens' needed for liberating our country.

Members:

Derek Harland
For his steadfast service and advice; for representing all that's good and right about eCanada and eCanadians to our allies.

Chamrajnagar
For his services to the eCanadian government. For replenishing eCanada's war chest. For exemplifying upright conduct and cooperation in and between the branches of government.

Companions:

Ramizeth
For his tireless work, effort and dedication to eCanada. The amount of effort and energy this man expended on eCanada could never be quantified. As the Director of the rising Department of National Defense, Ramizeth worked and oversaw the rise of the CAF into a modern, mobile and expeditionary force.

Chucky Norris
For his outstanding performance as Director of Foreign Relations and revamping that department. His works and initiative had added to what was already the finest Department eCanada had. His conscious care and consideration of our international standing, which was made all the more difficult by new and ever changing policies in a new and ever changing world, make his efforts all the more commendable.

scrabman
For honouring eCanada with his service, we now honour him. For his unmatched advice and assistance, the value of which cannot be underestimated.

SaraDroz
Working behind the scenes more often than not, SaraDroz was eCanada's key player and agent in a great many actions and negotiations that unfolded over the past month. Her influence for and contributions to eCanada, though likely to go unnoticed or unseen by the general population, will benefit us all for a long time to come.

Associates:

Jewitt
As VP under Gaius_Julius Jewitt provided the Brolliance with endless advice and council. During crises he would help formalize our official and standard positions, including publications meant to warn and alert the general public about security threats. Jewitt was and is at the heart of the Brolliance.

Josh Frost
For an excellent example of upright conduct, level headed thinking and commitment and dedication to doing what is truly best for one's country.

Gaius Julius (double citation)
As Chairman of the Joint Chief of Staffs under Josh Frost, Gaius Julius and our Director of National Defense, Ramizeth, worked and coordinated together to elevate the Brolliance's military muscle. The cooperation and teamwork showed its fruits in victory after victory (actually, I don't think we have ever lost a battle we planned to win).

AfanasiyDrago
For unparalled support, advice and general all-around coolness. An eRepublik player through and through, and also a Bro.

Military Merit

Knight Commanders:

Connor MacLeod
The job of Personnel Officer has never been easy nor particularly fun; however, it's necessity is unquestionable. The services provided by Connor in that capacity alone demand recognition; however, Connor has continually gone above and beyond the call of duty to use his capacity as Personnel Officer to provide strategic information and statistics on the CAF's overall capacity and performance. This information has been invaluable to developing the CAF, and targeting areas for expansion and improvement.

GoranThrax
During the Battle of Bihar Goran Thrax rose to the call of duty and supplied dozens upon dozens of soldiers seeking armaments and needing supplies. Racing against the clock, he nonetheless managed to have our forces prepared and ready for battle. Beyond Bihar, GoranThrax has spent a lot of time helping to build up the Canadian Armed Forces, and has been quickly rising through the ranks. His future in the CAF looks bright, and him in the CAF makes the CAF's own future look even brighter.

JT_Vanguard (Ret., double citation)
For things you will never know, because he's good at that.

Christian Doe (Rangers Commander)
Overseeing the rise of the Rangers, Christian Doe lead, organized and expanded the Rangers to where they now stand. The Rangers were the new kids on the block. Today they run the block.

Lokes
For his constant effort and dedication to building the Rangers.

Take care,
William Duncan,
The 13th President
