Swiss August Presidential Debate - Transcript

Day 1,713, 13:39 Published in Switzerland Switzerland by Monsieur Guillontine

Salut madams and monsieurs,

Well, we have just concluded a wonderful debate with our two presidential candidates, Gucio16 and Uros95. I would like to thank everyone who took the time to watch these two passionately explain their stances, and what they want to achieve by being president.

Monsieur Guillontine: MADAMS AND MONSIEURS...... THE SWISS PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE BEGINS....... NOW! Before we begin, if anyone has a question they would like to ask, please feel free to message me privately and I will give you a voice if I deem your question worthy. And now, it is time to present the two candidates, Gucio and Uros95! Let's begin with a little introduction from both candidates... let's start with Uros95.

Uros95: Greetings everyone! My name is Uros and I'm Serbian in RL. I am 3 eYears old. I came to Switzerland 1 year ago. I was Minister of Defence several times, 2 times candidate for Presidency and now I'm candidating again.

Monsieur Guillontine: Great! Okay, next is Gucio's introduction.

Gucio16: I'm Gucio. I came to Switzerland in February and since March I've been working with all the CPs closely. For most of the time I have been working in the Ministry of Defence, however the last month I've spent as Vice President. I believe that I have the experience to become the Country President. I also strongly feel that over all that time, I have met people who I would be able to give responsibilities for serving the county in various departments.

Monsieur Guillontine: Thanks for the intro Gucio! Now we are going to start with the first question of the night, which both candidates will answer. What is your plan to resolve the current Croatian occupation?

Gucio16: As it was already prooven making RWs and fighting didn't help eventhough we had many Military Units booked to fight/fighting. Therefore I personally would head the opposite way which is diplomacy and negoatiations with Croatia.

Monsieur Guillontine: Would you like to elaborate on what sort of diplomatic negotiations you would initiate?

Gucio16: I would slowly start the negotiations asking for 1 region each time instead of trying to negoatiate all regions at once, due to the fact it could be too dangerous move which could then result in having none regions back. Croatia is already tired with all the RWs which "drain" their damage, therefore it's also in their business to give some regions back to us. I believe that we could regain at least 2 regions for the next month with some agreements that we as a country wont be fighting in any more RWs. For certain amount of time.

Monsieur Guillontine: Interesting... okay, Uros95, you're up next! I'll repeat the question: What is your plan to resolve the current Croatian occupation?

Uros95: Due to the Croatian occupation we didn't have congress elections. Our hopes for early liberation were crushed when we found out that Poland has a non-agression pact signed with Croatia. As we don't have any chances in open war, our weak economy is getting weaker every day and our allies are busy with their stuff, we are forced to negotiate for freedom. So yes, negotiation is my plan.

Monsieur Guillontine: Can you please summarize what certain features your plan will encompass?

Uros95: The only regions we can get are Svizzera itailana and Graubunden. Croatia doesn't need those regions so I will try to negotiate to give them back to us. Lika Gucio said, negotiating for all 4 regions is impossible. To make pressure on the Croatian government I will try to get some help from CoT in negotiations.

Monsieur Guillontine: Okay, our next question is from one of the spectators, Lotus Black.

Lotus Black: I would like to know what are your other, lets say social plans?

Monsieur Guillontine: Uros95, why don't you answer this one first?

Uros95: Switzerland has been a part of the New World from the beginning. Three years passed and the country still has a small population. Due to that we have been an easy target to our enemies who sought for resources and more teritories. That's why I'm planning a baby boom.

Monsieur Guillontine: Alright, and now here's Gucio with his plans.

Gucio16: Recently as it was discovered the new version of egov has various features available. Therefore I have already planned making different competitions which wouldn't really take a lot of the players time to attend them, but it would allow them to compete each other and set aims. Also as there are quite a few giveaways planned for citizens to allow them to concentrate on growing up faster. There is one more aim which I will try to achieve which comes a bit under Military but it will still affect people socially, it's basically a reform with the current military units system. It will make more people to come around the IRC and our national channels which will make Switzerland more active and will allow people talk to each other without much of difficulty.

Monsieur Guillontine: Very interesting plans! Okay, now I have a question for both candidates, starting with Gucio: Why do you think you are more qualified than the other candidate to become President of Switzerland?

Gucio16: I believe that I'm more qualified for President of Switzerland than Uros95, because over the last several months I've been working very closely with the CPs as MoD and vCP which gave me quite a good point of view what sort of person does President need to be, as well as working closely gave me quite a lot of experience which will allow me to be more successfull. I also believe I'm quite a mature person which I think has been prooven over the last couple of months and I don't blame people for my own mistakes/errors/failures.

Monsieur Guillontine: Up next, Uros95, who will respond to the same question.

Uros95: Short and clear: More active, 3 years of game experience, better plans for society and military and I've been ready to take the CP job when I run in April this year but some people didn't give me the chance. When I am given a serious job and I do everything to do it as best as I can.

Monsieur Guillontine: Alright, great. Our next question will be from Todor Totev.

Todor Totev: How important do you think the MoH is, and what will you do to improve the program next month?

Monsieur Guillontine: Thanks TodorTotev! Uros95 will answer this question first this time.

Uros95: The MoH is a very important Ministry. In time of occupation and weak economy we must give our citizens help even if it's donation in food. Currently the SWIDAH is giving around 60 q5 food. I'm planning to increase it to 100. Also the MoH is very important after a BB because the new players really need help in the beginning. So a very active person must be the Minister.

Monsieur Guillontine: Gucio, you're next.

Gucio16: I believe that over this month SWIDAH was more active than the MoH. Therefore in order to improve the program the MoH giveaways should be lot more often. Also apart from the food I believe it would be a good improvement to give out weapons to maybe weaker citizens or citizens which don't already receive the weapons from the MU. I'm sure that by doing this they will be more active in the game and they would play longer rather than if they wouldn't receive the tanks which I suppose makes their life less intrested as they are unable to give their max hit in their division or even earn some gold by earning Battle Heros medals.

Monsieur Guillontine: Excellent. And now we will have another question from our current President, vukio!

vukio: Since both of you support negotiations, who will you rely on for help in this process? CoT, EDEN, eCroatian friends/enemies, your own contacts, or even some eSwiss citizens?

Monsieur Guillontine: Gucio, why don't you answer this one first?

Gucio16: I believe that the negotiations would go quite smoothly without many complications. However I would be more relaying on the help from Swss citizens as well as Croatians, due to the fact I think that it's in the both countries business to make the negotiations successfull. I wouldn't really be going into involving more countries or alliances as I think that wouldn't show Switzerland as a good diplomatic country.

Monsieur Guillontine: So Gucio, do you think Switzerland will have to sacrifice anything in order to make these negotiations successful?

Gucio16: believe that the whole Swiss community needs to understand that Switzerland is a lot weaker than Croatia force/fight wise. Therefore I believe patience is one of the main aspects which will need to be respected. Also due to the fact we're weaker we need to act proffessionally, no one should be arrogant or humble as it might have a big impact on the further negoatiations. Therefore not crossing the limits and acting with respect is another very important aspect of the whole negotiations process.

Monsieur Guillontine: Great points brought up Gucio! Uros95, please respond to the same question now.

Uros95: The best eSwiss diplomats will be included in the negotiations with Croatia. As there is a big difference between our countries, because Croatia is an EDEN member and a strong country, I will ask CoT to send their representatives in negotiations. If they can't help us in fighting then they can in negotiating.

Monsieur Guillontine: Uros95, the Croatians have consistently claimed that Switzerland is under a Serbian political take-over, and that they will not negotiate until this 'problem' no longer exists. What will you do about this inevitable argument that they will use as a justification to not proceed with any negotiations?

Uros95: As I know our current president is Serbian. Both our CP and and Croatian CP agreed that occupation and oppresion are not the solution for our problem. The nagotiations are going well so I don't see a problem with that.

Monsieur Guillontine: Okay. Our next question will be coming from a very inspiring man, Rican himself!

Rican: First, I would like to say that this debate is going very well and very professional. Bravo. My question is: there are two things that drive me crazy. For months i have been trying to get the government more involved in two things. The ambassador program, which i don't think has been taken seriously enough. And the MU liaison (coordinatior) to get all the MUs to act as one force when necessary. This program has failed also. The question is: what do both of you think about these ministries and what will you do to support them?

Monsieur Guillontine: Uros95, care to answer this question first?

Uros95: The biggest problem is that the ambassadors are too lazy after 10 days. They write 1 report and stop. That's why I will have ambassador to different alliance. There will be a lot of work for them and they won't stop to work for the MU part I am planning to make organized strikes to get the SNA and other units more active. Supplies will be given on organized strikes from the tanks soldiers produce in communes. There will be 2 strikes daily.

Monsieur Guillontine: Your turn, Gucio.

Gucio16: I believe that the Ambassador Program is very important and will be the one of the key departments over the next few mounts. There are a lot of important events happening over the whole world especially with ONE and TEDEN. It would be very important that the ambassadors would deliver the information further instead of the CPs/Gov members searching for those. Therefore there will be a strict rules about the program and a good director of it. As mentioned earlier I'm planning to launch a completely new MU coordination program. This will be very important as it will rely on different contests/statistics and a reform on the suppplies. There will be actions on the IRC for which the MUs will get funding, this will make Switzerland stronger and allow us to be visible fighting among the other countries.

Monsieur Guillontine: Thank you Gucio. Our next question will be coming from the infamous troll of Switzerland... madkytle!

madkytle: What, in your opinion, is the importance of ambassadors, and how should they perform their job?

Monsieur Guillontine: Gucio, please do enlighten us.

Gucio16: I think that the ambassadors should be well known within Switzerland and in each country they're ambassador in. In my opinion the main way to perform their job is be interested in the country, read the press which is released by the country officials as well as talk to the country government/ambassadors about what's happening.

Monsieur Guillontine: And Uros95?

Uros95: Ambassador's job are to get every available and useful information such as: chat rooms, government positions, number of active population, the strength of the national army... Ambassador must be in contact with the government in which state he is ambassador. Ambassadors are the link between two states.

Monsieur Guillontine: Great. Okay. Uros95 can start the next question which is from an anonymous Swiss citizen: On the market, Q1 and Q2 weapons and food are cheap... so cheap that there's nearly no profit for sellers. Most sellers of these weapons/food are newbies who depend on earning money from selling their products... what are you planning to do to help our newbies and their small businesses?

Uros95: Food is cheap all around the world. After the BB our economy will change and so the prices and salaries on the market. I can't predict how many citizens will come but I am sure our economy will get a boom. I was planning to give credits to new citizens to help them in businesses. And if their product are not being sold on our market they may ask for a credit for the licence to sell in to an another market.

Monsieur Guillontine: Gucio, same question.

Gucio16: The low quality aren't really making profits or even it's not well if the weaker citizens are selling it. Therefore my first way would be to educate them that it will be better if they would use those products them self or even only concentrate on making food for themselves and then collecting the weapons from the country. I'm planning to launch a commune program for weaker citizens which will allow them to workf for nothing and receive most of what they produce.

Monsieur Guillontine: Okay guys! That raps up our Question & Answer session. Next, we will be having a head-to-head debate, where both candidates will respond to each other's arguments. They will be allowed to bring up any topic which they choose to. We'll start with Gucio... you may make a statement.

Gucio16: Uros95, I was just wondering why you always try to make yourself look like the victim, and blame everyone else for your failures, such as in your recent article?

Uros95: I didn't write the article alone because I have people who support me and who told to write that article. And yes, I failed and I won't let it happen again like it was the last time.

Gucio16: In my opinion, if some group of people support you doesnt really mean that the article is helping Switzerland as a country.

Monsieur Guillontine: Okay guys, let's move onto another topic. Discuss your opinions on the future of Switzerland's role in the international community.

Uros95: A country with strong army and defence, strong economy and a country which helps it's allies in bad times. A country with a united and happy community, with people who are ready to help each other.

Gucio16: I guess in eRepublik, the system give and get is quite popular. In my opinion helping CoT now would mean we would get help from them later, it could also make us become more important in the CoT community.

Monsieur Guillontine: Closing statements from the candidates now, please?

Uros95: Thank you for this amazing debate. It's really important to have debates like this before the elections. Candidates get to know each other and that's the most important thing.

Gucio16: I hope that the elections will go quite smoothly and fairly. If I win I can promise that the month will go without any fails due to the experience I have gained over the months.

Monsieur Guillontine: Okay... well I guess that's all the time we have for today. It seems that both candidates are a bit tired! Thank you everyone who came out to watch the presidential debate. Hopefully, now you will have a clearer idea of who you will vote for on elections day!

Let's fight. Fight for peace.

Peace out,
Monsieur Guillontine
