Thanks to Ph Brodin and Belgerander, for clarification.
The Swedish word "dels", meaning "partly", can also be used as a pair (dels..X..dels..Y) much like either/or in English. A better translation would therefore rea😛
Also, Sweden has already made contact with Germany and announced that Sweden intends for Germany to not only become a sovereign and self-governing country in the future, but also to arrive at a diplomatic accord with them.
OR probably better understood as:
Also, Sweden has already made contact with Germany and announced (a) Sweden's intentions for Germany to become a sovereign and self-governing country in the future, and (b) to arrive at a diplomatic accord with them.
I think though it may be best to just read Swedish General Maximilian's statement in English:
"Kalle Holm, the president of Sweden announced after a while that he had no intentions of conquering the remaining regions of Germany, since he believes that everyone have the right to live in their own country."
Thanks

Good morning Sweden!
For me, it's still good evening, since sleep is somewhat of a luxury I could not afford lately, which is why I'm sitting here around 04:50 in the morning after many sleepless hours to write you a little status report.
For those of you who haven't noticed, Sweden has assiduously pummeled the Germans for the last 2 weeks with great success. We have conquered Schleswig-Holstein with high-grain, and simultaneously destroyed Germany's only Q5 hospital. Then we conquered the two adjacent regions of Lower Saxony and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania as a buffer zone. We plan to take a further region from Germany within a few days, so be sure to arm yourself with good weapons for the (hopefully) last battle.
Swedish soldiers smell the Germans panic.

]Also, Sweden has already made contact with Germany and announced (a) Sweden's intentions for Germany to become a sovereign and self-governing country in the future, and (b) to arrive at a diplomatic accord with them. The Government is now working on efforts to promote a peace proposal that benefits both parties.
The fact that the U.S. chose to leave the war and be completely neutral, when we explained that we only intend to take one region, is a factor that strengthens Sweden's position in negotiations.
Sweden has also asked Spain to propose peace, since the mechanics of the game doesn't allow Sweden to propose it ourselves. Spain gave no real answer, and we can interpret it to mean that they wish to affirm Germany's sovereignty. Hopefully, Spain will make up for the damage their people did in the last battle.
UK is a very fragmented country, whose administration wants to be as neutral as possible, and it had excellent communication with Sweden during the war, but their people want to defend Germany until the last drop of blood. I personally do not view the UK as evil, they have helped as best they could, and I am grateful.
Canada, however, has fully shown what they think of Sweden, as their president mostly had apprehensions against Sweden in the war. I ordered the closure of the Swedish Embassy in Canada a week ago, and Canada can expect an equally friendly greeting from Sweden when Canada gets their thumb out of their ass and dares to do something themselves.
I have come to my last 5 days as president, and I'll try to use them as best they can to to clean up the mess I made in regards to our relations with the other countries in the world. However, I must say that so many delegates have been in contact with me trying to sway Sweden over to its side since Atlantis officially collapsed, that Sweden isn't looking that bad as a country.
It is a pity that it took such a long time to go to war. Almost two full weeks of intensive debate, almost bickering, passed before Sweden banged their fists on the table and declared war without further discussion, after Germany refused our absolute final, tough demands. Had we started within in a decent time frame, the war would have certainly been over today, and I would have used the remaining time to improve the effectiveness of the Swedish administration, generally and militarily. Perhaps I can buy myself some time from all the school work that is piling up on me now before the summer holidays, and make a small effort on this front during my last days of work, otherwise, let's hope that the next president, which hopefully will not have to be as busy as I, can arrange things better. A daily information bulletin, to keep people as well informed as possible without revealing too much to the enemy, is something I would like to see. We have taken a step towards that by introducing "Swedish State Infocenter" a couple of months ago, but I would like to see the writers be more transparent so that they can be more informative, since I am pretty sure you probably all think it was very... impulsive and unexpected when it came to starting new battles etc.
However, I would like to take the opportunity to commend all members of both the government which has done so much to keep Sweden afloat when we were under a lot pressure from many sides, and who assisted me and Sweden enormously during this hectic time, that we can hopefully put behind us (at least for a little while, then we need to clobber new people😉
).
Also the brave guys in the Ministry of Defense, commendations for their awesome perseverance and assistance, both practically and tactically. When all hell broke loose, for various reasons, or almost 10 delegates from different countries choose to contact me on IRC right in the middle of the final moments of a major battle, without complaint they relieved me of my burden when asked, and we eventually got things flowing well.
Last but not least, a big thank you to all of you Swedes who participated in the fighting (well, maybe not to the MSAP and Gustavius who fought against us)! You too have made a great effort, and you and I all know that we have made an impression on the world when we plowed through the German regions one after another. Great work! It's been great fun to work and play together with you all, even you communists!
When my term expires, I will close my business for the summer (psst, shameless plug! Q4-arms business for only 175 gold! Http://www.erepublik.com/en/company/crazy-beard-son-187411) and then leave eRepublik to enjoy the sun and warmth outdoors instead. If I am up to it in the fall, I will be back then. If not, well then thank goodness you'll be rid of me . 😉
Thanks and Farewell,
Karl Holm
Sweden's president

What you are going, translating articles in English is truly amazing. Please continue your work as it is much appreciated.
eRepublik plus = win, but this works too.
Good translation! 🙂
Please translate this for the Swedish leader: "Canadians don't have their thumbs up their asses. But they are pointed downwards in regards to your country destroying a German Hospital!"
I love this line: "Sweden intends for Germany to become a semi-sovereign and self-governing land in the future"
Translation:
We will control Germany politically and economically, but we don't want to go to the expense of actually capturing the rest of their territory.
The translation is not correct, it is slanted negativly towards Sweden. A correct translation of that sentence would be:
"Also, Sweden has already made contact with Germany and announced that Sweden intends for Germany to become a sovereign and self-governing land in the future, and that Sweden has a desire to come to a diplomatic peace with them."
Note the added "semi" and the downgrade from "peace" to "accord"? The rest of the translation has similar issues. Normaly I don't nitpick in erep but when our president gets missrepresented by an anti-swedish interpreter, who pretends to be neutral, I feel the need.
To whoever subscribes to this publication, know that you are reading propaganda, not translations.
Viggen, what's your point? A direct translation doesn't convey meaning, have you ever watched an anime comedy with the subtitles? The jokes aren't funny in a direct translation. Because that doesn't convey tone or intent.
Having read the demands Sweden has made of Germany in exchange for peace, that isn't brokering peace that's attempted subjugation. And yes, perhaps I too have a Bias, but then your president insulted my country and called us enemies for upholding our sworn word instead of breaking it as Sweden has done under the rule of Kalle Holm.
Perhaps one day our countries will one day be on good terms, but I for one will not support any treaties between Canada and Sweden until Germany no longer has a Swedish gun at His head.
Goran,
In this case it do actually matter. Every article I have read from our Government states that they want eGermany as a fully free state with whom we wish to have diplomatic contact with.
"Having read the demands Sweden has made of Germany in exchange for peace, that isn't brokering peace that's attempted subjugation."
Which demands are you talking about?
Kalle.. you got support of many countries, only because they need good relations with Sweden.
But be sure, that even the political leaders are saying that what you did shouldn't be supported.
so it's not just a matter of Canada. Every single country has seen properly your behavior.. Shame on you.
@Viggen:
I do not speak Swedish. At the end of my articles, I always include that improvements on the translation are welcome.
That said, what is the meaning of the word "dels" in that sentence?
"att Sverige dels ämnar Tyskland vara ett suveränt och självstyrt land"
I will edit the article and credit you.
Thanks
