Storytime V - Chains without Links nor Chackles

Scandinavia - March 879 A.D.

There is a distant sound of birds singing, the wind guides the melodic sound to my dirtstained ear. The other ear taken by my masters hand when failing to obey. The water licks the sandy shores not far from here, The seagulls cry out in the clear dawn skies. The sound of domestic animals feeding of the last hay from our wintersupply.

My hands grips the rusty shovel as hard as i can, i feel the aching pain of my soar hands and my back screams out loud and begs me to stop. My head is punding and the sweat gush all the way from my dirty forehead along my slender body. The sun is gazing, but the wind is freezing cold like shards of ice. Holgunn, my master and owner stands a few hundred feet away at the porch of his farm. His wife and 4 sons are spread wide throughout the farm, doing either Chores or as 2 of the sons often do, lay in the grass avoiding both labour and chores.

The sound of a horn calling from the Fjord reaches my one ear, i stand up and turns, i squint my eyes in an attempt to see whatever ship sounded their horns in proud arrival. There is 2 ships in a distance, i try even harder to see any familiar banners or the colors of their patterned shields. The sails of the bigger ship is striped in red and white and bears a big black raven. It's very rare when these norse vikings use patterned and colored sails, most of them are infact farmers, hunters and merchants. As both ships get closer to shore i see around 45 largely grown norse men and maybe a doussin what seems to be new slaves for the market. Among the slaves, standing out like a sunflower in winter, a young fair girl, Hair as black as a ravens, her skin as bright as the sun and her glittering eyes shimmer as if they were stars stolen from the skyes. As my eyes just wandered away from the young girls beauty i saw a glimpse of a axe and....

I apologize for the Delay, i've had work up to my shoulders and i've recently started writing the first Chapter of my new Project. A full-lenght Book, Currently just a project with a time-spawn of 2-3 years. If i succeed it will publish by a swedish Bookcompany. Estimated Release 2017 if i succeed. I will try my best to continue this serie of novells if so is desired.
