Stayin' Alive.

Day 1,920, 01:44 Published in Denmark Denmark by pho3nix

In my last article I pointed out that Denmark, as an independent nation, stands little chance of growing bigger than our neighbours - mostly due to game mechanics, but it also has a few other reasons. This however does not mean that Denmark itself serves no purpose in the eWorld. There might still be a place for the Danebrog to hang proud without the threat of being invaded or made a puppet for others. It does however put our allies in an awkward position, and locks down those who would like Denmark to stay alive; since it's up to those people to make sure it stays that way.

While we might have to struggle a bit to get the country maintaining an economic balance (decent salaries, working market etc.) eDenmark still holds at least one active military unit. This enables players to get daily orders in order to gain the daily bonus and have another set of goals to accomplish every day. It also gives something - even if it isn't a whole lot - to give back to our allies. We do have some punch to us, and while winning a campaign might be tough, we could - combined - easily stall a battle or two. The Military Unit (MU) is also an important way to reach the eDanish society, and a platform for new players to get help and support in order to advance in the game.

There's also what you're reading right now: the media.

I've been a long time advocat of the Media. At one point it was more or less all I did in eRepublic, and I've created quite a library in a folder of my computer. The Media is how we reach eachother. It's the foremost way of communicating, complaining or giving praise. It's also a great medium for spreading news; both inter- and national. Sadly the Danish media has lost if not all it's charm then at least a huge chunk. This might be a great way for new players to build a eCareer off, since competition is scarce. As opposed to IRL, you don't need a diploma to get your articles printe😛 it all comes down to you. You don't turn into a master writer overnight - it takes pratice and determination, but as opposed to the rest of the game you can gain skills that can be applied in real life. Think about that. It's a great way of improving your Danish/English.

And finally, let me send out a request to all you players out there. There's at least 18 of you out there.

Make sure we know you're alive. Throw out a comment. Vote up articles. Try - just try - to be polite instead of hatin'. Each and every one of us is important. If we're going to keep something of Denmark alive, each citizen counts - perhaps more than ever right now. Stay alive out there!
