Stating the Inevitable - From a Neighbour
Balambani Brothers Inc
I just wanted to write this article to you to clarify a few things, please bear in mind that I am not associated with the eGreek government...
Firstly I would like to congratulate you on getting your country after 2 years of campaigning into the game!
Now, I have been reading the Egyptian media and so I wish to clarify a few things.
Greek or Turkish intervention into the Arab countries is inevitable. Greece has long been seeking the resource of Oil, while Turkey needs Oil, Grain and Iron, all of which are abundant in the new Arab countries. Oil will help improve Greece's weapon production by 25%, same applies for all the other resources of Iron and Grain which Turkey lacks and badly needs.
There were considerations in the past of obtaining a deal with the Italians in Greece to get same of the Oil, which is one of the reasons I think Greece has been trying to pressurize Turkey into making a peace Treaty (War with Turkey is not good for our economy despite the small economic gains). The introduction of the Arab countries has turned Greece's oil hunger else where.
After America annexes the Eastern Region of Turkey, Greece is likely to put it's attentions to the South where the Oil lies.
Their options will be:
A) Invasion of Egypt and Occupation of the Western Deserts
B) Cooperation with Egypt and Saudi Arabia and colonisation of one of the many of Saudia Arabia's oil regions through payment in Rent
The Cheaper option for eGreece would be option A), but the last thing eGreece wants is more enemies in the region and Egypt is bound to allie itself with Turkey if we pursue option A), in which case Israel is likely to intervene and then we have some giant middle eastern war (which wont be too good for Egypt).
After Turkey recovers from Greek and possibly American occupation, one of their goals will probably be gaining colonies in Saudi Arabia or Egypt to gain some high level resources.
Hence it is not wise for Egypt to remain neutral in the long run. In fact, it cannot remain neutral in the long run. It is going to need allies, especially strong nations nearby that can protect it. I am not trying to convince you to allie with Greece, but I am telling you that your resources have brought you a lot of attention.
At the moment, it is intelligent of you not to intervene in current affairs between Greece and Turkey, but looking at Greece's and Turkey's interest you will inevitably be forced to make negotiations with one of the two.
Therefore I strongly advice Egypt to do this...
If you wish to defend yourselves and keep Egypt safe, seek strong allies now and DO NOT opt for neutrality, other wise you are an easy target for Greece or Turkey...
Greece is at the moment the dominant power in the middle east, but power tends to be shared between Greece and Turkey...
This is just my Opinion and as an eGreek I apologise for intervening in your countries affairs...

Turkey and Egypt are brothers
Interesting perspective and pursuasive argument. I would be suprised if Greece makes early adoption of your first option. For a start, Greece has a long and enduring alliance with Croatia - with the current protection of Croatia that Egypt enjoys, the scope for Greece to pursue option 1 is limited.
I think option 2 is a more realistic proposition. We can make arrangements to exchange resource regions for our mutual benefit. For example, a country only needs one oil region to enjoy a production benefit - further of the same regions buy no additional bonus - so why not trade excess regions (Saudia has too many oil for example, but not enough variety of food regions).
I suspect that of all the new countries Egypt will present the least interest. Greece has Iron already, so it only really want's our oil region - is it worth making a new enemy just for that? Saudi however is in a more vulnerable situation - Greece will be very keen to get some aluminim and oil. A short transit through Sinai will take Greece to Saudi.
I think on your point of neutrality, you miss some nuances. Egypt does not have declare for either Greece or Turkey as long as it has friends elsewhere who are ready to stand by it should it be attacked. Furthermore if we engage in small bilateral deals to peaceably exchange territories, that will not neccessarily drag is into taking sides.
I don't think that we should preffer oil from a friendly nation on our borders.Egypt should be a friendly country for Greece not a place to expand our soil/economy.
As for some kind of arrangement,i would preffer it,if it's beneficial for both countries.
@Franz Kafta
You are right but if Egypt does economic cooperation with Greece Turkey may find a pretence to invade Egypt (assisting their enemies) vice versa... The Arab countries are simply to hard to ignore because of their resources..
At the moment, I personally prefer option B....
VOTED!
A region of oil must be the next goal for the victorious Hellenes!
an eisraeli prospective, the current situation with the new arab countries is a golden opprotunity for the older nations such as Greece. to create a network of allies and friends within the arab nations. diplomacy and cooporation is the key to success. greece is mighty. but sooner or later the grasp on turkey will crumble ( wheel will turn around, it always does ) and if greece would prefer the choice of warpath, 2-3 fronts is futile.
The Knight doth speak reason! 🙂
We can take a region but not from Egypt, Saudi Arabia is better because they have more than 1 and we will not hurt their economy.
What, you don't want our fruit?? we got lots of that.... 😛
@Franz
We have lots too 😛
Oil and Rubber is all we lack... and Oils more useful than rubber...
I know... I was being sarcastic. Saudi get's all that Aluminium, Oil, grain and saltpeter - and all we get is a basket of fruit!! 🙁
Change regions, but in any case it should discuss Saudi Arabia, also the regions of grain itself is surely ask, with a rental or exchange of resources with or without alliance.
Weapon production will be up by +5% and overall 20% if you have 4 of the resources (except rubber). A friendly agreement is the best
I believe that there should be a regional alliance in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea between Hellas,Israel,Egypt and South Cyprus(whose indepedence I support only in its South part for its own protection from a turkish assault)!
In addition,I propose to capture an oil region not in Egypt, but in Saudi Arabia!

You can write pretty nice articles when you put racism aside, nice and a neutral article. Voted
Open are the double doors of the horizon
Unlocked are its bolts
As said in article - this is not official position of eGreece - otherwise I would put a strong protest note as eCroatian ambassador in eEgypt and Saudi Arabia, and UAE!
@JohnD999
"please bear in mind that I am not associated with the eGreek government..."
It was in Bold...
Also, if we were so imperialistic we wouldn't even consult Egypt...
Accept my apology as I missed that, I'll delete the post
propaganda...
very nice article...
only as other as have already said, an important additional factor is that Egypt is not alone : )
A region swap, giving Egypt one of greece or turkey's would be favourable, but seeing as Egypt only has one Oil reigon, this would still hurt our economy
However I can warn both Greece and Turkey that any invasion will lead to a baby boom, which could turn around and haunt either country.
Should Egypt be invaded by either country, I personally would do my best to start a baby boom and look towards a war of retaliation.
Sad... the Arab nations just gained freedom but some vultures already starving for their regions 🙁
We mustn't seek for oil in Egypt!
I prefer Egypt as an ally and friend!
We are both ancient civilisations and also were once great empires!
I would prefer one of the five oil regions of Saudi Arabia!
Hail Egypt!
Hail Hellas!
Propaganda,
Is this all you do?
Better remain in ur boundaries, you know, there is a reason they are called a "Countrys' Original Regions"
Admin gave them for a reason, it made sense if you were attacking because you had one region, or none, but having dozens, and still doing such acts?
Shame Shame,
Though its just an article, and isnt supported by Greek gov. I'll just call it Propaganda.
@DerDer
Considering its a game with the objective to win, I dont see how...
propaganda...
if greece wants eguptian oil it should try to rent it.
and this is not the official possition of greece x2
most of greeks believe that egupt is a valuable allie.
first i actually think you do cooperate whit the greek government but still you are right that we should make allies because otherwise we are an easy pray
Saudi Arabia could give up it's oil, but seeing as we should be working towards uniting the Arab nations under one banner, giving up an Oil region would not hurt.
"Considering its a game with the objective to win, I dont see how... "
Since i play i haven't find a final "objective to win" for the countries. Empires expand and then collapse and sooner or later all regions return to their original owners.
