State of the Party Address

State of the Party

My fellow party members, one month ago, I came to you with a call to action. I asked you to renew your commitment to the party, to once again build something truly great. It is a testament to this party and its members because many of you took up this call to action. While we have not made the progress that I had desired up until this point I know that the state of this party is strong and that the best days of the UIP are yet ahead of us.

Now, many will question how I can so confidently declare that the best days of our party are ahead when we have encountered so many difficulties over the last several months. I had ambitious goals at the start of my term and I set out with a plan to make sure all cabinet members met them by the end. Unfortunately, our progress has been slower than I had wished and we still have a ways to go. Yet, I know that we can still succeed, I know that we can still grow because I have seen the commitment of so many members of this party.

I know that in the face of incredible adversity, the members of this party will not quit, they will not surrender to decline, and they are going to fight until the last eRepublik server goes offline. I am sure of this because the members of this party have more than some virtual attachment to the UIP. Their commitment runs far deeper than a picture on their profile or a title to support their political ambitions. They are committed to this party because the UIP has something that I think is often overlooked, a community. You can see it on the forums or on the IRC, you can see it when a member donates his company to the party, you can see it when those members in foreign countries continue to help the party flourish, and you can see it in the constant hours put into the success of this party by all of those involved.

Still, many of you will rightly question how far this community has gotten us given our current ranking in the game. Our commitment will only go so far without a plan to channel it. In the last week the cabinet and I have put in place a plan to increase our recruitment and retention. To summarize the plan: we have restarted Independence Air and made it into a noob company. I will be subsidizing the wages and raw materials for the employment of 25 citizens. The UIP mentor team and I are friending and messaging each of the employees in Independence Air and referring them to the newly created UIP Beginner’s Guide. The program is centered towards addressing the primary issue we face right now: recruiting new members into the party and keeping existing members involved. I am confident that we can make significant steps in the next month back towards the top 5 by employing this strategy.

While I have summarized the recruitment side of our strategy, the party has taken significant steps toward increased retention over the last term. Pikezh638 is currently starting up a party militia with the assistance of Jadiv and with subsidies from the eUS Government. Activity with the party newspaper has significantly increased and I have published the weekly UIP news for every week since the beginning of my term. In addition I also published an article on last month’s PTO effort of the Congressional Elections called “Proud of America”. This article made it on to the top 10 and received over 200 votes. Kazeal, soon to return from eIsrael, is restarting the Members Office with the goal of helping members find volunteer opportunities and positions within the party. AndraX2000 has created a great set of Signature Banners for all of our teams. The UIP has continued to keep the independent voice in Congress and I hope we can continue to expand it with quality congressman. I also started a “President’s Suggestion Box” in which I took ideas from the party. These are a few of the things the party has done in the last month and the things we will do in the future to ensure an involved and excited membership.

I realize that many of you are still frustrated with the state of affairs in the party. I know many of you expect more and you all definitely deserve better. I can promise you this, that I will continue to work tirelessly to improve this party and to restore it to the position that it deserves. I believe I have the experience, the plan, and the ability to bring us back to the top 5 and I hope you will give me another term to prove it.
