State Dept: Formation of Alliance Commission

Day 560, 13:02 Published in USA USA by Harrison Richardson

A few days ago, I proposed the creation of a new commission to handle the task of where the United States should go after our stint with neutrality is over. This commission, titled "People Organized to Restart Negotiations", is a mix of economic gurus, military commanders, career civil-servants, and overall Erepublik geniuses. The commission is chaired by myself, in my role as Secretary of State. The vice-chair is my newly appointed Deputy Secretary of State for Alliance Creation, Proggypop. The commission is merely an advisory committee, but I plan to (and already have) used it extensively to aide me in the negotiations process with other countries.

The committee consists of:

Gaius Julius, Federalist Party President
Tiacha, United States Marine and former Chief of Staff
Mjdiv, White House Press Secretary
Inwegen, Former Secretary of State, current Chief of Staff
Eugene Harlot, Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff and USMC Commandant
Bastion, General, Mobile Infantry
One Eye, Economic Genius and Economic Council Member

I'm proud to lead this excellent committee as we head into a new alliance for the United States.

On a related point, I recently attended a preliminary meeting with several nations regarding a possible alliance. Representatives from the United Kingdom, Spain, Ireland, Canada, and myself representing the USA were present for an extremely productive 90 minute meeting. To be clear, those 4 nations are not the only nations the USA wants to see in a new alliance, but they were the only ones present at the meeting. We hammered out some rough points about a new alliance and hopefully we can meet again to hammer out more fine details. To be clear, this is not close to the formation of an alliance. The long, hard road of a new alliance has just began, but I'm proud to say we've taken the first steps and hopefully it will lead to a new and stable relationship. Among the sticking points for this new alliance are free trade among all nations, closer relations between allies, being a defense-first alliance, and a stricter alliance charter. We hope to continue negotiations and will keep the public updated as we do so.

Oh yes, Tradition Pictures

This is probably my favorite picture, ever. I saw it and thought "I must share this with the world". I'm sure many of you have already seen it. Someone has removed it, but I feel like I must add it back.
