Day 92, 01:07 Published in Romania Romania by Adrian Popovici

So apart from all the comotion the other day about the state hospital we are coming to another news worthy event... The Local Elections. I wanted to write something about this yesterday, i even logged in for that, but i got entangled in some arguments.

So coming up to the elections we already know that two big fronts have been created. On one side there is GP and eRDP to whom i shall further refer to as GDP and on the other PG and PCeR refered to as PCG (hope the references make sense for you and that the politicians will not be upset about this). Funny isn't it. Somehow it's like seeing the national elections all over again. Maybe we should have just two parties after all.

So we are coming to the greatest city in Romania, Bucharest. Even though we have to major sides there are still some minor players in and we have 4 candidates. The two great players are bogdani from GDP and Ostara from PCG, no need for introductions i believe as both have made their presence quite known in this new world. We see these two battling over the mayors office while the other two characters Carol from CDP and andru.beldie from PTT would be there just for the show. My apologies to the two if we shall have any kind of surprise by their accounts.

We go forth to Cluj-Napoca, where we see a similar situation, two great characters engaged in the race for the shiny office while also in the race being an unknown variable. Interesting here is the fact that andreicrivat (GDP) and Geniala (PCG) have had a good relationship and they have collaborated for the good of the city with Geniala as Mayor and andreicrivat her local consultant from the Green Party. The negligible quantity here seems to be the unknown person Griffin from PTT, whom we believe can not compete with the likes of Geniala and andreicrivat.

The next major city is Timisoara, where things are really interesting. Here the situation is grim for the elector as there are 5 different candidates. GDP has dealer.coca as their choice, from PCeR (yes PCeR not PCG) we have the leader of the party PostaL on the list while from PG melania_sarbu. We also have scarface from PTT and nicopau30 from CDP both unknown. Still the elections here could go either way as the votes get divided between the candidates. Timisoara, long being under PCeR rulership, might change the lanes, even if looking back at the past elections it would show no signs of such a fact.

In Constanta we see a clear race between the two higher groups GDP and PCG. bomberclad the current Mayor of Constanta for the first group and Liviu for the second. It is going to be an interesting race to watch so pay attention.

So in Craiova things look similar to constanta. A clear fight betweeen the two groups, with Gabrielle running for PCG and alinadafy for GDP. Not much more to say here, as you probably know the people.

Iasi goes on the same lines as the last two cities, with a close fight between eQ from GDP and reaper from PCG.

Botosani is the last city with two candidates, and this time we are not talking about the two behemoths but rather of CDP and GDP. From CDP we have carca while from GDP Sebby.

We therefore come to the last two cities, each with just one candidate. For Baia Mare we have Nicu while for Oradea we have Raul both from the GDP alliance. (For the early readers... i beg apologies as i have made a mistake by actually saying that Raul was from PCG)

We hope it has all been a good source of information and that it shall make your voting much easier. I would have liked to conclude by advising you to vote the person and not the party behind him, but i believe it would be bad advice in these times. Do not forget that while the man is the engine, the party is hte car 🙂.
So do a 50-50(man/party) when you choose your candidate, and let yourself VOTE.
