Standing So Soon?

Day 509, 04:35 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Marcus Antonius Varias

As some may be aware, I have decided to stand for UKRP Party President.

Why, why, why, oh, dear God, why?

A perfectly valid question, though it think it can be quite simply answere😛 because I am the most suited. Why else, of course, darling?

Though trivial and simplistic that answer may make more sense you would imagine. You see, a party president is not the representative of the people, per se, but the leader and visionary of the party. Perfect!

It won't take you long to realise I have not be on this cold and damp e-Island very long. But don't let that put you off me, like a supermodel learning her boyfriend likes World of Warcraft. (Knew someone who recently lost his marriage due to WoW, but that's a story for another time.)

When a party needs be innovative and creative, controlled and yet free from the shackles of party politics, it needs an individual who is innovative and creative, controlling yet partisan in the party with regard to his fellow colleagues and their policies.

If you want a character like that, I give you some advice: don't put them through the bureaucratic mincer of the party system. This is nothing more tiring, more life draining, more soul killing, than being stuck dealing with the in-and-out's of congress and the executive. It distorts your intentions as PP, warps it, corrupts it, rationalises it. These people are great for our congress, suited for parliament, ideal for our people; they are the political animals we want battling over tax and the military. But, for the dear love of God, don't stick individuals like that in a position which is to lead the party as an innovator, 'cause the party will just get stuck.

We'll go as far as a resistance by a nation in it's own territory. Get me?

So that's why I suggest voting for me! You knew it was coming, right?

Remember that passion for change and wealth of new ideas you had when you were just starting in the drizzly e-World. Fresh dreams and aspirations, ideals and great expectations. Well that is me. But I am ready to put those into practice. To create a more mobile, flexible and creative UKRP. A party inspired to live up to it's name. It is a good party regardless of what may come, and that is why I have confidence to be guided in those areas in which I am blind, by our veterans, our experts and our everyday members.

I do not want you to put faith in me, I want you to put faith in your ideals. I want you to think that the Reform Party can reform, that we can continue to win elections no matter what the political climate, that we can continue to institute our change and vision to make our country a better place, fit for our citizens and liberated from burdens for our business' and I want you to put in faith in the ideal that there is someone out there fit to keep the party in line, to rally support, to inspire, to lead, and to ensure that we will succeed in the next national election.

That is why I ask you to put your support in me. Marc
