SS Weekly Update 8/15

My fellow SEESlings,
You guys have exceeded my expectations. Our successes this week have increased our international notoriety as an effective fighting force.
This week, our success began in Podolia. We were able to open up the battle with a successful drop behind enemy lines. Within minutes we were joined by the Spanish, and were able to take the capital. Too bad, all the bawwing turned out to be effective. The battle was closed by the admins which robbed us of our glory.
We have also seen success fighting alongside the Canadians. Unlike the Irish, the Canadian government has learned to use time zones to their advantage in their invasion of the United Kingdom. Earlier this week, the SS led the way in the battles for Northern Ireland and Northeastern England which ended about a hour apart. A last-minute Canadian rush in Northern Ireland, led by our militia, secured the capital from the south with relative ease. We then focused our attention on Northeast England. Seeing that the British had put all their defenses there, the outcome of this battles was not so certain. Due to extremely high participation that night, we were able to sweep through the British and achieve two key victories just hours apart.
Last night, we saw even more glory. We were able to take Valhalla from the British. Canada attacked from the south, focusing on the defense system and the southern hospital, while we focused on taking the capital. Once the region was secured, GladDos couldn’t stop shedding manly tears of joy. It looks like Canada’s success will continue into next week; let’s hope we can help wipe the pig-disgusting Redcoats.
Tonight, and probably into next week, we will also be helping the Irish. They did re-attack Dublin during our prime time, greatly increasing our chances of victory. Let’s hope we can liberate Dublin...again. Maybe the Canadian campaign will take some of the heat off the weary Irish.
New Programs
In and attempt to increase activity, I plan on introducing some incentives for those who are active on IRC. Since I am now able to track battle stats, I want to hand out gold or other rewards for things such as highest kills for the week or most tiles capped. This week, active SS members have already collected bounties on key Phoenix players. SEESlings, Glove and Chisholm, collected 1g each for killing that brtifag Dish. I plan on continuing the bounty system. If you have any ideas for programs to increase the fun and activity in the SS, let me know below.
Also, last week, I mentioned that we need Kommunications Officers to keep their fellow soldiers in the know. Jeepamerica and Arcnox stepped up and turned out great articles espousing the glory of the SS. I suggest you subscribe to their papers and regularly vote up their articles. Jeep’s latest article can be found here.; and Arcnox’s latest one can be found here. I encourage everyone to get creative and write. This is a great way to get involved.
Speaking of getting involved, I will be asking some players to call battles when RL will not allow me to be present for the end of key battles. SS soldiers, Julian of Albanopolis, Leif Erikson WAN, and Arcnox will be your guides on the rare instances I cannot make a mass attack. I will offer advice to them, and I’m sure our successes will continue under their command. They have been selected due to their high activity and willingness to get involved. Let’s keep this activity level up so that we can build a strong base of quality players who understand the ins and outs of a particular battle.
Kompanies
We are in the process of locating and setting up and food or grain kompany in the next week. Once a kompany is located, I will fill it with SS soldiers who will be notified by in game PM. At the moment, we only have about twenty job spots for over thirty soldiers at our kompanies. Therefore, some people will be out of work. If you are not in an SS kompany, try to find a job with someone you know, so that you can be fired in case of deployment. Those who show up on IRC will receive free Q5 weapon even if they are not working. I encourage everyone to hop on IRC.
The Return of our Fuhrer to the Battlefield
As you probably know, I was promoted to Grand Vizer a short time ago, and it has been decided that I will be the party president for this month. This will allow Emerick to fight on the front-lines with you guys and deliver much needed damage to our enemy. This will also allow me to call orders faster and watch more things at once.
