Spain pisses off Turkey; Turkey responds on the battlefield

Alternate title: Spain just brought a gun to a bomb fight

In a very close RW battle today in Illinois, who else, but BattalGazi and a group of Turks, helped America secure a win. The battle was 1800-1640 at the end, and was only successful for the Americans because of the Turkish army group who assisted. (I tried to get a screenshot, and thought for a moment that I did, but apparently not).

BattalGazi was the Battle Hero in that battle, the second to last for the American victory.

Why? Four simple words: Spain pissed them off.

The final straw here appears to be explained in this article, currently #1 in Turkish media. Don't be confused though, that's simply one complaint of many that Turkey has against Spain, among other ONE-aligned countries.

A major complaint? Despite dealing out multiple times more damage than Sweden, who was immediately allowed into ONE, Turkey, Indonesia, and Slovenia remain simply ONE-aligned. Why? Because ONE, like nearly every alliance in eRepublik history, requires a unanimous vote for any country to become a member. Contrary to Terra, for example, where I have experience, where if a few member countries pushed hard enough and wanted a country to become a member badly enough, the other members would vote for to allow access, out of respect. According to rumors, Spain repeatedly vetoes drives to vote Indonesia, Slovenia, and Turkey into the alliance.

But that's not all. Directly quoting a Turk here: "Spaniards are spoiled son of poland". Pretty simple to understan😛 Spain isn't up to par with Servia and Poland's damage ability. But unlike Hungry, who doesn't muscle countries out of the alliance leadership, Spain uses their power, power seen as granted by "Daddy Poland" to have a higher status than former Penix members.

It's also worth noting that Spain does not win battles against equal opponents(like the US), unless ONE is heavily involved. I can verify this, as a former US president who fought against Spain on a daily basis. Unless I saw a lot of Polish or Servian avatars on the field, we were going to win the battle. Not necessarily easily, but victory was most certainly ours.

There's an old Dioist saying: "Spain sucks lol." This may be as true today as it ever was.

As for Turkey, who knows what's in their future? Historically, they had a lot of issues with PEACE(idk about Penix, I never paid that close attention to them). Will they simply vent their frustrations and attempt to fix their issues with ONE internally, or will they say that enough is enough and attempt to build relations with their current enemies? Turkey was in Terra way back when it was still Panam, but US relations with Greece and Bulgayria caused Turkey to second-guess their foreign policy. Will Terra open their arms to Turkey a second time, and attempt to fix their mistakes of the past? Will Turkey be willing to give them a second chance?

And if so, what does this mean for the UK? Is this a sign of ONE's weakness? Will this give the Strausburg fans more credibility?

Find out next week in the exciting conclusion!
