South Korea situation!!! Interview with Yonai Keiko!!!

Day 556, 11:23 Published in Croatia Croatia by Iluvatardd

Hello! This is my 1st article, so I want to tell you that I'm Croatian and eCroatian citizen and that I'm relatively new citizen of eRepublik. Many citizens don't know anything about some distant countries in eRepublik. I'll try to fix that with my newspapers.

I saw egobbas map 2 weeks ago and I saw South Korea mainly occupied by Japan. Only 3 regions were free than... Two days ago I saw that all SK regions were under Japanese rule... My friends told me that they merge friendly together in one stronger country... What says former president of South Korea?

1. Why did you merge these two countries?

eSouth Korea has been suffering greatly in its former state for a variety of reasons that led to our decision to merge. The fact that our old embargoes that expired weeks ago are still in effect was one of the big reasons. This sorely limited our ability to purchase foreign goods, particularly hospitals and defence systems that were essential for the defence of our nation. Another major reason was the constant threat from eChina, and the new threat of eNorth Korea.

2. What benefits will you Koreans gain with merging?

eJapan has a much stronger military and economy. Not only will our eKorean divisions grow stronger and more experienced, but the civilian portions of our populace will also flourish in this situation. The eKorean territories will be well defended and will grow in terms of economic prowess.

3. What benefits will Japan gain?

eJapan will gain the determined hard-workers of eKorea, as well as an expanded foreign legion. These new citizens will help in the defence and growth of eJapan.

4. Why you didn't merge with NK to Unified Korea... i saw your newspaper name

eNorth Korea is an unstable force that is as vulnerable to PTOs as eSouth Korea is. Their lack of a proper military and the chance of the nation's government falling to the hands of PTOers made eNorth Korea unfavorable. Not to mention they also lack the good relations and friendship that is present between eSouth Korea and eJapan. I expect that the transition into a united eKorea would have been a rough and painful one, unlike this union with eJapan.

5. Why you didn't leave one region for those people who don't want to leave in Japan

Since we plan to come back in a few months, we'd prefer to have a fresh start with the nation, rather than having to fix an extremely ravaged nation destroyed by PTOers. The amount of people who wished eSouth Korea to not participate in this union are also a very small number that does not have the ability to fully run a nation.

6. Why you didn't merge with China, Iran or even Indonesia?

eJapan is the only nation that was able to reach Gyeongsangnam-do. Geographically they were the only option. However, as I mentioned, we were also quite friendly to one another before the merge. They are the closest to the democratic, capitalist society with the many freedoms that us eKoreans have enjoyed. eChina is not on the best of terms with us, and while eIran was our ally, they do not share the same level of friendship we have with eJapan. eIndonesia can't reach any of our regions, and we have no diplomatic relations whatsoever.

7. Is there a possibility that NK will join your country? Do you want it in your country?

I sincerely doubt that eNorth Korea will join in the future. Unlike eSouth Korea, in which the population is almost completely united, eNorth Korea is very divided. They would never be able to find a way to join the union that would please the majority of the citizens. Considering this, I would prefer that they did not.

8. How many gold did you spend in simulated war? And how many spent Japan?

I do believe the cost of the battles and the war was about 200-300 gold. This was all payed by eSouth Korea. eJapan had no hand in funding the battle, although they did cooperate in actually launching it.

9. What must happen to your new country that Koreans will start RW and leave Japan?

It was stated from the beginning of the talks that we intended on returning as a sovereign state. But first, we intend on strengthening our army, preparing hospitals and possibly defence systems, as well as advertising our nation around the world as a fresh start for players bogged down by their nations political, economic, or social set-up.

10. Is alliance permanent or you will get out of it some day?

While the union between eSouth Korea and eJapan is not permanent, the friendship that we share is. Even after we have broken off the union, we shall continue to pursue relations with eJapan, as well as a military alliance.

Sincerely,
Yonai Keiko
Former President of eSouth Korea
